Well now Rockstar have confirmed they are interested in making a GTA movie, but they're not looking for the blockbuster. Apparently Sam Houser, president of Rockstar Games, has been going around and trying to get people interested in making a GTA movie for 5 years. Noone even blinked. Then after GTA3, producers started calling in, wanting to make one, and discussing ideas. Rockstar knew that if they wanted to make a movie it would be more of a personal movie, with their touch. They clearly knew that they don't want to have a blockbuster. In their own words: "A bad movie, a commercial movie, would damage our game". So for now there is no GTA movie, but if there ever will be (and if the GTA series will stay popular), you can expect something cool. Something original. A "landslide approach". Umbrella Racoon City T-Virus Zombies The Licker (which was called a hunter in the movie) Im pretty sure that all these are in the game. Aside from the characters and the setting, the movie tries to remain somewhat related to the games. Oh, and lets not forget the mention of the "Nemisis Project" Also, when the camera pans at the end of the movie, the news paper that is seen (with the headline: "The Dead Walk" is the exact same as the one in Resident Evil 2. It has loads of things in common with GTA because R* "borrowed" it all from the film. Because, when I'm sure they get around to making the movie, they'll have the main character just run around for a hundred hours doing jobs and missions, ya know, to keep the movie "true" to the story line in the game. XDogg Posted January 5, 2003 Share Posted January 5, 2003 Oh by the way if i was to make the Resient evil movie I would record myself playing the game the a whole bunch of losers could come in and sit down and watch it in the theater then when the sucky reviews come in they atleast couldnt insult it and say that it had nothing to do with the game.. IF resident evil was like the game i wouldnt want to watch it, it would be gay. If a max Payne movie was like the game I wouldnt want to watch it I played it and saw it. The only thing that made resdent evil bad was the Fearless hero Woman who didnt even flinch at the sight of Human eating zombies. Anyone would of craped their pants. I cant stand people whinning over movies no sticking exaclty to the lines of the games. As if the movie creators dont want to try and be originall. MOST GAME MOVIES SUCk YOU KNOW WHY, they make them too much like the Games!!!!! Games are fiction unbelieveable, Movies are more towards realism!!! poguemahone Posted January 6, 2003 Share Posted January 6, 2003 At first I thought that GTA would be great as a film even though the name has been used, but i thought again and realised that it would work better as a TV series (probably not based directly on any of the games) but if done right it could tell a great story of a thug rising through the ranks of the underworld.
