GTAO Beer Hat Glitch

It worked for me on 360 for three of the hats and the Happiness shirt then it stopped working.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Just had the same thing happen on my female (2nd) char... My guess is, it "worked" technically, but "gave" you one that you already had... Others have said this has happened as well, I'm pretty sure.

 

TL/DR: You might get "duplicates" along the way, making it seem as if it didn't work... I'd keep trying.

 

Personally, I have 3 and the T-Shirt on my female now... Just need the Patriot Hat, which oddly enough, is the one my male char has...

I had a suspicion this was the case however I didn't have time to keep trying so I'll have another crack at it next time I'm online. Also is the Patriot hat you speak of the yellow one? Nvm should have just looked at the photos lol.

Yeah, it's a bitch, I know... But, so far, if you have 2 chars and want all of them for both, it's the only way I can think of to make it happen.

 

Probably still faster than actually getting the crates...

So I re installed everything went into online with my second character and as I was switching to first character I got an "connection lost due to unknown error" message screen and with that I'm through for the night.

My main character is level 150+, my second character is level 1, and this method still works.

Can you tell me the specifics or anything important that i may be doing wrong?I tried this atleast 5 times and hasn't worked for me. I hate to be a bother but this is really scratching my back

 

I created a new second character and skipped the tutorial, the rest is in the op post.

Btw I dont think it matters, but I have non dlc hats on on both characters.

Yep, this is what I was thinking... It's technically working, but giving you something that you already have... Like picking up a 2nd special crate before 1.15... It had Los Santos Belle Tee in it, but you already had it from getting your first crate, so it looks as if nothing happened.

I dont know what you mean, I just mean press triangle on the disc and choose check for updates instead of loading up the disc to update

Imagine how pissed I was earlier today when I found a room with a special crate in it, got the crate, only to get the same shirt that I was wearing (Statue of Happiness) in it...

 

Can't believe they can't program it so that, if you need something, you get that thing, instead of duplicates... hell, worst case, let us keep the dupes, so we can trade them with other players and complete collections that way.

 

FWIW, when I've been doing this, my spawn location is my apartments for each character. Makes it easy to check the closet, especially if you have the shirt already.

I'm sure they'll be right on it over this holiday weekend... Did you tell them to fix the crate drops, while they were at it?

 

Again, this is one of the ways R* tells you to fix the game if it's not working right... I'd say when 80% of the advertised crates don't drop, something isn't working right... So, we're just reinstalling the data.

 

Literally just drove out of my garage... Guess what? "Crate Drop Inbound"... Green circle, no crate.

sounds like someone has major ass pains because they spent hours waiting for one of the glitched sh*tty crate drops or got cheated out of a crate by another player

Yes, I edited my above post. This worked for me. I don't want R* coming in here taking away everyone's hats, which is bad for me as my PSN/SC is the same as my forum account name.

Didn't work for me, followed the OP's description. I already had the shirt and benedict hat so I might have gotten a duplicate of those, will try again later.
