Okay guys i may have found out a way to get free beer hats. Seeing that people randomly got the hat after switching their character, i wanted to try some testing and it worked! Here it is   XBOX

OK, I can confirm that this does work on PS3... Here's exactly what I did:   Starting on the character you don't want the hat for, go back to story mode (Leave GTA Online) and quit the game.   Kic

Possible, but technically, the event has already started... At least that's what it says on the Social Club.

 

I remember getting the Daily Hipster T shirts around 4 AM EST, IIRC, so maybe they'll start dropping in crates after that time...?

I heard (Checked newswire saw obvious discounts posted) the event is supposed to give us 25% off ammo for the RPG, Minigun & Grenade Launcher. They're still charging me top dollar.

75% off airstrikes too but I am yet to give that a go.

Got the Piswasser hat and the Supa Wet hat now, definitely beats wasting your time waiting in a lobby full of squeakers.

Questions: Has anybody got a hat + shirt at the same time or do they always come separate?

Also how many shirts are known to be acquired using this method?

on rockstars Facebook page they said the event starts officially tomorrow and I am yet to get the RP bonuses and ammo discounts so we just have sit tight and stay tuned :)

Cant confirmed but i got my shirt when i got the Benedict hat

Have you signed off of your console and back in after the event went live..?

 

Pretty sure those things don't take effect until you sign in after the event goes live... I recall playing RR until 3-3:30 AM EST the last night of the double $/RP weekend and it was still paying double until we signed off.

oh and for guys on ps3- it works better pressing triangle on the disc to update as loading up the disc didnt work for me the first time i tried

Gotta delete the patch data only. If you delete the install no big deal but you'll have to install it all over again.

 

All MP data is stored in Rockstar's cloud. You will not lose anything.

With the Happiness shirt I actually had to go to the store and 'purchase' but it was free nonetheless so it's no biggie.

You don't lose anything, I assume because it's saved in the cloud

If on PS3 open the folder called Game Data Utility > find the GTA V file > Press triangle on it for info where it either will or won't say 1.15 > If it says 1.15 that's the one you need to delete.

 

If X-Box I'm the wrong person to give advice.

Just had the same thing happen on my female (2nd) char... My guess is, it "worked" technically, but "gave" you one that you already had... Others have said this has happened as well, I'm pretty sure.

 

TL/DR: You might get "duplicates" along the way, making it seem as if it didn't work... I'd keep trying.

 

Personally, I have 3 and the T-Shirt on my female now... Just need the Patriot Hat, which oddly enough, is the one my male char has...
