Today I found my fourth crate. It contained the Patriot hat. So far;

 

Crate 1: Happiness shirt

Crate 2: Benedict beer hat

Crate 3: A huge, stinking, Chop sized pile of goddamn nothing!!!

Crate 4: Patriot beer hat

 

As I have heard a lot of people talking about getting the same items multiple times in a row, I guess this is as good as it gets.

 

Wow, you're lucky. Here's mine:

 

Crate 1: Patriot beer hat.

Crate 2: Patriot beer hat.

Crate 3: Patriot beer hat.

Crate 4: Patriot beer hat.

Crate 5: ... I've actually lost count.

I got 1 legit beer hat, then the glitch started to work and I got 3 more, after that it didn't give me the shirt or the other 2 beer hats (which I think can only be obtained by mods ATM?) any help? (on PS3)

Seems overly complicated the way some people are doing it (especially uninstalling/reinstalling the update). Here's what I did and it worked just fine (on XBOX):

 

My main character is male, my second one is female; I made sure both had nothing on their heads and both had "last location" as spawn point. Both had their vehicles with them (so I don't think that matters). My main character had gotten a special crate drop ages ago, but not my second character.

 

With that in mind, the following was very simple and easy.

 

1. Start GTA from dashboard, loading into story mode.

 

2. Pause, Online, Choose Character, select female secondary character.

 

3. Load into GTA:O, Pause, Online, Switch Character, select main character.

 

4. Load into GTA:O, ---> Crate Item Unlocked!

 

5. Pause, Online, Quit GTA Online, go back to story mode.

 

6. Exit to dashboard.

 

7. Repeat steps 1 - 6.

 

Every time I got a message that a crate item was unlocked. I got the (in order) Supa Wet, Patriot, and Benedict beer hats. Fourth time I tried it, it repeated the Benedict hat, fifth time it repeated the Patriot hat. So I stopped doing it, since I realized pretty quickly the only beer hat I like is the Patriot one, and even then, I only wore it for about 5 seconds before I decided it made my character look like a complete knob. So even though I have them, I will in all likelihood, never actually ever wear them. So, no point in continuing trying to get the other hat(s).

Tried this a few times no luck. For some reason my 2nd Slot Female character got 2 hats and the shirt.... Both have the Los Belle shirts and awards.

Weird I have collected lots and never seen it, and I was in a lobby and everytime you collected a crate drop another spawned shortly after but sadly they weren't special crate drops

I Have Revised the "-How to Unlock the Beer Hats and "Statue of Happiness" T-Shirt:(PS3 and Xbox 360)" once again, with the help and suggestions of thread contributors. I have also added a "Prerequisite" section. This "Prerequisite" section is so people don't have to hurry so much while trying the exploit, because the Notifications won't be popping up as long as the characters being loaded are inside their properties.

Here is the only method that works for me (must have male and female character):

 

1. Start up single player

2. As soon as it allows, press Start

3. Online -> Select Character

4. Choose character you don't want the hat for

5. As soon as it allows, press Start

6. Online -> Swap Character

7. Choose character you do want the hat for

 

All that other invite only BS doesn't work for me.

Simple method for xbox 360 (you must get a special crate first)

 

Go on your second character (female) -> Xbox guide button -> system settings -> delete MP Independence day DLC -> start gta online, download DLC -> enter GTA on second character, immediately press pause -> Switch Character to your main character -> bottom left you will see crate content: unlocked -> repeat for the other hats/shirts

 

I found that wearing a beerhat/unlocked t-shirt increases the chances of the glitch giving you the other ones that you need. I kept getting a Patriot Beer hat; once I wore it on my character, I got the other 3 beerhats easily.

PS3 method #2 has worked perfectly for me. Only one more hat to go and I have received absolutely NO duplicates of anything. Got the Suppa Wet hat legit with the help from Ermac. and started glitching the rest.

 

I have the Pisswasser Hat, Benedict Hat, Suppa Wet Hat, Los Santos Belle V-Neck, and the Happiness T-Shirt.

 

All I did was:

 

Go to secondary character.

Go to single player.

Hold PS button, and hit quit.
Load the game back up.

Invite Only Session.

Swap Character.

Boom. Works like a charm.

The method I posted is the simplest. Doesn't matter what character you were last on, just load SP, choose other character, swap to main character and bam, got it.

A few days ago I posted that I received a beer hat with a normal crate on my 1st character, while my 2nd character collected lots of normal crates and one special crate with no hats or shirts in any of them.

I decided to go for a special crate once more with my 2nd character. Oh my, it was bonkers. First, I prepared myself by acquiring a fighter jet. Then, I checked the map to see if there were players in aircrafts. Taking further precautions, I flew around the city looking for other pilots. I knew another person was flying a helicopter 'cause I got a glimpse of it while I was off the radar. When the crate drop was inbound, I flew close to him and blew him up sky high with my missiles. After that, I ejected from the jet and parachuted at a precise time (a few milliseconds late and I would have died from impact.) There were other people with helicopters and jets that I didn't expect in the vicinity. Since the armed smugglers were distracted by all the chaos, I didn't fire my weapon. Sweating, shaking, and heart pounding, I bolted for the crate and collected it. This time there was a hat in it (the Patriot one). Immediately I switched to passive mode. When that happened, players with miniguns were going ape on me. There were bullets and explosions everywhere. No lives were sparred. They must have been pissed off. Finally, I went off the radar and got the heck outta there. It was CRAZY, it was crazy as hell. PANDEMONIUM! I can't breathe.

Screw Rockstar's rules. The special crates are very rare and the people who try obtaining them are relentless. I would be fine with that seeing as how I've collected 90% of the special crates that dropped in the sessions I've been in, BUT, many times the crate drops glitch and won't ever drop. Also, sometimes they contain no special hats/shirts OR they'll contain a special hat/shirt that you already have. Screw that, I'm glitching. The boy/girl scouts can try getting the beer hats and happiness shirt legitimately (lol at 'gamer pride'), and I'll just sit here sipping on my nifty beer hats while wearing my Statue of Happiness T-Shirt that I got through little effort.

does the method work better when you allready owh a beer hat? because i tried a lot of methods here (total of 7 times) and i had no luck, but i just got a beer hat legit , should it work better now?

Unlocked a crappy Tshirt in a special crate drop but still getting beer hats for male character

I've got a primary female character who seems to have gotten all four of the hats and the happiness shirt. I've been trying to get my secondary male character to get them, he already has the Los Santos Belle shirt, but I haven't been able to get the hats to drop for him at all.

 

Any advice?

If anyone wants the Throwback Radio T-Shirts. This should get you all but the K-Rose one (Not available for males)

 

 

 

 

 

 

1. Load into single player, and go to Online>Choose Character
2. Delete your secondary character if you have one. Make a new Female Character, and skip the tutorial.
3. Start > Online > Swap Character to main Male character
4. Swap character back to your secondary Female character, at which point it will ask you if you want to alter their appearance.
5. Stay on this prompt and sign out of PSN/XBOX LIVE (or unplug router/ethernet).
6. Once back in single player, go to online and sign in when prompted. Select "Choose Character".
7. Choose Male (Main) character, at which point you can change the gender to Female. You should now have two female characters.

1. Edit: Even if you don't see the special tops in your female section, continue on with the glitch!
2. Once you have done that, buy/equip every top on the female as well as scarves.

These shirts and the beer hats were all leaked in the coding of the game. No one was able to find a method to get them until recently.

ahhh I didn't know it was these shirts that were in the coding as well. Can you get the two missing beer hats as well from doing this? also do we really need to buy all the female clothing? Big price tag.

I bought all the female tops and scarves (If you already have them bought, just equip them)
