when it comes to these creates you do what you gotta do. If you don't get someone trust they won't let you in a jet/buzzard. If they didn't play like fags, no one would have to, but that's not the case. Ever.

 

If you can't handle being defeated, even through betrayal, you shouldn't be playing GTA online. I would have done the same.

it was a classic no-kill, work together agreement. He had been spawn killing me with his jet prior to our agreement, I used it as a chance to get my own jet. Took him out at the last minute knowing he would do the same.

 

I've had 5 special create agreements prior to this, all of which people betrayed each other to get the crate. That's just how it is. These people are just mad because the same most likely happened to them. The way I see it you can either make friends, or beerhats it public lobbies, and I have enough friends.

Besides, I think it's ok to be a dick in GTA (within the confines of what is allowed, no invincibility cheats or stupid sh*t like that). I don't give a f*ck, even if you do it to me. Spawn kill me with a tank? Whatever floats your boat. I'll still think you're a dick but in GTA you have the right to be one.

Got all of them now, the last one after today's maintenance

I just did it last night with the original way and it worked the first time. 2nd time it didn't work and couldn't be assed to delete and re download. I'll try maybe a couple more times today.EDIT: I have 2 Fems.

I changed my t shirts before I attempted and got the ones I needed

It's a game, I'm supposed to be having fun. I'm not really having fun if I'm trying to get a win against some one who is actively annoying me (I don't mind getting in gunfights when I'm in the mood. Then it's just fun and games. But getting in a gun fight cause the person is being annoying, that's not really fun. I found it is better for me to just go play somewhere else).

 

But, honestly, I've found GTA players have gotten better since when I last played (only been playing for two weeks after stopping playing in December). I've found very few players who will keep following you around killing you if you show no interest in fighting back (usually they kill and run or leave you alone if you walk away after you respawn). And plenty that actually come up to me not actually wanting to kill me but offer a ride or go do stuff (back in December you were smart to just assume if they were approaching you they were going to kill you). To me it's making the game a lot more fun when it is uncertain whether it is friend or foe rather than almost certainly foe.

I agree, people seem to have become friendlier. It's been like this for quite a while actually. I used to like to pull up to players in a Roosevelt with a very trollish outfit on, honk the horn and wait for them to get in. Then calmly walk around the front as if I'm letting them drive. Then I stop in front of the car, pull out my auto-shotgun/minigun, wait a second or two to let it sink in, and then blast them with all I got. This has "trap" written all over it, yet easily over half the people I tried this on did not kill me. Even tried it with a rusty van and a psychotic clown outfit on, people still fell for it.

Note: I don't usually play like this, but like I said, you have the right to be a dick in GTA and occaisionally I make use of that right.

I only get some rp. Tried several methods. Also, I always get the "car destroyed, call MMI" message while I have no destroyed cars. I'm getting that message for a few months already and I'm afraid that my character is bugged and this might be the reason I can't get this glitch to work.

Have you ever collected a special crate before? You can check by going to tops in the clothes store, then looking under special tops to see if you have the LS Belle t-shirt (you get it the first time you collect a special crate). This is required for the glitch to work.

 

I got the MMI message too when I succeeded with the glitch. I called them and my Entity which I had been using but had not been destroyed, was available to claim from them. I didn't have to pay a fee but it also didn't say who did pay the fee.

I just got another special crate today. With the pisswasser hat.

 

I've seen people say they're not dropping anymore though because the event ended (not the DLC period), but I've also heard people say that's not true. I would try to find that out first before you put any effort in it.

Ah, I don't mind some one killing me once to see if I want to start a war with them (though personally I prefer playing with people who prefer doing co op things or even if there is one group of people fighting against another and it's a team effort against another team), but I do think it's dickish enough if they continue to kill me even when I try to make it obvious I'm not interested (walking away, refusing to fight back). Enough I wish Rockstar would let some one vote some one off the server if they've killed some one three times without that person killing the person back (that way if it is just friends messing with each other they'll probably not use that and it will make a troll think twice about harassing some one who is just an easy kill to them).

 

My thoughts on it are if they don't care that I'm not having a good time as well, why should I care about their feelings if they get kicked off?

 

(I just really dislike it when it is obvious people are enjoying harassing you because they want to make your game miserable and not cause they think that you both are having mutual fun killing each other). And when I'm making no attempt to fight back and even just trying to walk away, it should be obvious I'm not interested.

 

As I said, it seems there are less those type of players though (in fact the worse I saw was a guy today who exploded my car and then shot me when I respawned and even he got bored and left after that).

Okay on the Quitting side of the glitch(when you are leaving online and quitting the game), time doesn't matter, you can take as long as you want with each player. BUT once you have started GTA again and have started SP you MUST Immediately pause it, I start pressing(spamming) "start" while it is loading. See you want to make sure that the "New Content" alerts(pic below) DO NOT pop up in SP or in Online until you get to you character receiving the hats. And the same goes for your first online character you load into, I would also start pressing(spamming) "start" as soon as you start coming down out of the clouds, this way you go straight to the pause menu and don't allow any of the alerts to pop up. IF you do allow these alerts to pop up then the glitch will NOT work and you must start over . Basically once you are going back onto online after quitting the game you want to move VERY VERY quick and do NOT wait for anything, no yellow circles, no pop ups, no nothing, just you and a race to the hats. What it is doing is giving the "New Content"(in this case a hat or shirt) that it would be giving your SP character to your Online character because of your fast movements. The pic below is from Online but if I went slow it would pop up in SP(I have), it normally does. I hope this helps, let me know if you need anything else, I certainly don't mind the questions.

I got it to work again on X360 roughly 4 hours ago to obtain the Benedict's hat. This was my 3rd hat so far, all using this method.

 

I used the exact method that's in the OP. I also unequipped my hat, made sure all cars were in their garages, and set both character's spawn location to "last location", and had them a good distance from their apartments.

 

As stated above, you need to be really fast at the switching, and eventually you'll get it. I got the Patriot drop about 10 times in a row, no exaggeration, before getting the Benedict's notice.

 

Perseverance seems to be the biggest factor!

Are you talking about the PS3? Cause I haven't found that has mattered one bit. I've never tried to stop it and I know i've let it load those up and I so far have 100% gotten it to give me something (but it really does not want to give me the yellow hat, only thing I have left). And all I do is make sure I am on my alt char, quit to single player. Quit game. REstart game. go online into invite only (should load my alt char). Swap to my main char. In fact a few times when I decide to take a break I'll quit the game and reload and let it stay in single player mode until I'm ready to play again and then go to my alt char and then swap to my main. Works every time. And it's been sitting on single player mode for quite a while when I do that (I'm doing that right now actually).

 

And I did start trying to be quicker but I did quite a few before where I was very relaxed about it, messages came up on my screen, and it has always worked for me so far.

 

And I've had a hat equipped accidentally, got one. Had the eagle mask on, that didn't stop it. Accidentally swapped from my alt to my alt one time and it still worked when I swapped to my main character. I haven't been inside my apartment, I will say that so can't say if that will stop it. I've stopped turning off the PS3 as I've seen time and time again you don't need to do that step. Never even had it work by deleting the update (but when I tried that I hadn't gotten a special crate).

 

What I have done one time that did not work was not quit out of the game (I at this point have everything I want but I'll quit the game and reload just in case I can get that last hat just for completion sake). So in my experience you must quit out of the game.

 

In fact it seems what spawns it is that first swap to a different character after you first start the game (that has gotten a special crate before). Maybe only if the character is not in their garage (as I said, I have not tested this one yet).

All of these thing especially the mask and swapping back to the same character have screwed me up, and in no way, shape, or form would it work if you swapped back to the same character because you had not left online or turned the game off. As far as it being super simple well by the 77 pages on the subject, I'd say, evidently its not, while I have gotten all of mine, many people have not, and all this post will do is confuse them. And as far as the loading back up phase I have personally tested the "New Content"(Weapons & Vehicle) alert thing and on My PS3 and in My experiences if I got that alert in SP or on the 1st Online Character the I got NO HAT(or Shirt). So I am glad to hear it was so easy for you, but if someone has bothered to read these 77 pages they aren't having the same luck, so give them helpful advice not advice that will inevitably make it harder for them to reach their goal. And yes I am "talking" about PS3, that is why the method has "(PS3)" in the title, but it turns out it may also work for Xbox360 users as well.
