GTAO Beer Hat Glitch

I got 4 hats and Happiness is... Shirt. Is that all or what am I missing?

 

Pisswasser beer hat

Benedict - -

Patriot - -

Supa - -

The files showed 6 Beer hats and the statue T shirt... Dunno if they were all released, though:

0x201E6601 = 'Blarneys' Beer Hat

I have not seen anyone with the J Lager or Blarney's hats as of yet, though...

I did it all by getting them on my main character, not my second. So yes, it works vice versa seeing as how that's how the OP said to do it. (i.e. 'secondary character you're NOT getting the hats with')

OK, so it seems if, you do it one way, you can't do it the other way... Again, that's fine for people with one character. People with two characters, my guess is, you'll have to delete both the game data and the one that I described showing version 1.15

 

Little late for me to try that tonight and no guarantee that it'll work, but I'll try it tomorrow if I can't get any progress on it tonight.

Trying this on PS3 myself as i'm typing, currently installing the update.

 

My main is actually in Slot 2 and my alt is in Slot 1 so we'll see if my slot 2 main gets it

What missions are Trevor's? Could I do them without waiting for a call?

I had the same problem as you earlier today, youre just glitched and havent unlocked missions from Ron. You want to get a friend to host any Ron mission for you and complete it. Shortly after Ron should text you and youll be able to request jobs from him. Wait a little bit more and trevor should invite you too a job. And finally, after you complete it, Ron should call you and tell you about the crates.

Im still testing to see if you need to unlock the crate drops from Ron and Trevor, but i dont think that will matter (the main on the second slot)

That's what raises a red flag to me... Of all the people on thise forum, posting pics of the hats they have got, I have yet to see one of either of these... Just odd that, if all 6 did indeed get put in as part of the crate drops that nobody seems to be getting those two.

 

On the other hand, it does say right in the R* newswire announcing the update "For the duration of The Independence Day Special seasonal content period, Special Crate Drops will contain 6 different Beer Hats and an exclusive Statue Of Happiness t-shirt."

 

If anyone has snagged one of these two (J Lager or Blarney's) please let us know.

OK, I can confirm that this does work on PS3... Here's exactly what I did:

 

Starting on the character you don't want the hat for, go back to story mode (Leave GTA Online) and quit the game.

 

Kick the disc out and go to your Game Data Utility Folder. For GTAV, you'll have 2 items... Delete the one that DOES NOT have "Install" in the title. If you hit triangle for information, the one you're looking for will actually say "Version 1.15". Delete it.

 

Shut down the PS3. Once powered down (Red light) turn back on.

 

Sign back into your account and put the disc back in. It'll ask to update, select OK (hit X). It'll take a bit to download and install. Just let it do it's thing.

 

Once done downloading and installing, the game should start back up. Let it go into story mode.

 

Once story mode is loaded, go online, picking an invite only session. You'll go online with the character that you don't want the hat for.

 

Once online, simply pick "Switch Character." Once the switch is made, go to your special hats and you should have a new hat, with a star beside the name.

 

These are the EXACT STEPS I followed and it worked for me. working on seeing if it works the same for both characters. will edit once my updates are downloaded and installed... As I said, it does take a bit.

- When zooming back into LS after swapping back to my 1st character a message appeared saying "Crate contents- pisswasser hat"

I tried all the different methods and none of them work for me. Neither character has a beer hat. I'm on Xbox 360.

This didn't work for me, and I followed these exact steps twice. It could be because I already purchased a special beanie.

I've purchased all of the clothes, male and female and it worked for me... Still works on one character, just can't figure out how to get it to go the other way...

 

Trying to get it to work on my 1st char again... If not, I'll probably call it a night on him and just work on my 2nd character... I'll redo the steps exactly as written and report back... But, everytime I've tried getting a hat for my 2nd character (since that was the first one I wanted to get hats for) it's worked.

Exactly as the instructions for PS3, deleted the one saying 1.15 and left the install alone.

Make sure you have something to do while it re downloads as there's 10 parts to download. Takes between 10-15 mins depending on your internet.

You will only get four from this, the other two.. No one has even seen them yet lol

You should see a notification where the kill feed is upon returning to game.

I recommend trying this while standing outside a clothes store using 'Last Location' for your spawn location to save time.

Yeah, it's a bitch, I know... But, so far, if you have 2 chars and want all of them for both, it's the only way I can think of to make it happen.

 

Probably still faster than actually getting the crates...
