GTAO Beer Hat Glitch

Im in a empty lobby on ps3 if anyone wants to join I have a mic maybe a crate will come

Trying at a time that is an 'off' time might help. For example I have noticed you find more lobbies with only a few people in them between 2 and 6 am EST. The less people in the lobby the less competition and less chance someone will glitch a drop. I have also made sure to keep my mental state 'normal' so I am not going against a full lobby of naturally aggressive people for the crates. There is a strategy to it and when you figure it out grabbing special crates is pretty easy as long as you get that message.

I think another thing to look for is if there are a bunch of people gathered in the city fighting it out or people scattered around the map solo. I find that you will have better luck in rooms were people are fighting it out as they are distracted and less likely to care about the special create. But the solo ones are usually the ones trying to hang out to get the crates.

The glitch does work, make sure you get at least one special crate before you try. I tried 30 times at least before and it didnt work until i recently picked up a crate. Also, if you want a different beer hat or shirt, make sure you wear one you have currently and you get another one. Hope this helps you guys

Very true, I always check Blaine County. If I see a few people out there wandering, I go to another lobby.

Something I've noticed. Every lobby that you enter where a green circle already exists, you can go to that location and already find the enemies dead. My guess is that the issue plaguing this game awhile back still exists, where killing the enemies before the crate drop would prevent it from ever dropping.

 

I think people are jumping the gun, rushing to the location and glitching all the drops. Honestly 9/10 rooms I've been into today have these glitched green circles with dead enemies in them.

Of all the things in GTA Online that just don't work right, this is by far the most f*cked, insane thing I've seen Rockstar do.

 

(And yeah, a beer hat doesn't really matter.)

 

But to know how crazy and completionist your fanbase is, then put a missable item into a game mechanic that has never actually worked properly? Jesus.

 

I give them the benefit of the doubt for their crappy PR and almost comical string of delays but to affirmatively go ahead with this seems almost sadistic. It's like the long-ass triathalon that I never bothered to do; it seems like they actively want to punish people who are completionists.

 

And normally when there's a "get a life, nerd" argument to make, I'm there, but damn y'all, OCD is a thing.

Any tips? I have been doing the 5 1/2 hour thing for 13 hours and I still don't have a special crate

1: Switch to your secondary character you're not getting the hats with.

2. Go and delete the Independence day DLC from your HDD.

3. Re-download it on GTAonline (Press A on the loading screen to go online) , start up online and make sure you're still that Alt character

4. Switch to your Main character.

5. It should be in your inventory ( Try checking your wardrobe in your house)

6.You can get the Happiness shirt in a Store (I got one there anyone else?)

For PS3 user you don't have to delete the updates.

Just follow the steps:

1.Turn on your PS3, go to game, go to story mode.

2.Press online->choose character->choose character A.

3.After you are online as character A, Press online->Swap character->choose character B.

4.Then character B will receive a random beer hat or the tshirt.

To repeat,

5.Leave online

6.Turn off your PS3 using PS button menu.

Repeat step 1

Notice, turn off then turn on the PS3 is a must. You cannot just go to SP then MP, this will not give you anything.[

Just do this^ and have a female char in slot 2 preferably. Lvl and if you have picked/unlock crate with 2nd char doesn't matter. Mine is just lvl 1.

Who wanna see The J Lager and the other hat? I have seen them, they exist.

once i did the swap to my main character, a message pop up on the left corner of the screen

 

"Crate Content: Supa Wet Beerhat"

 

and there it was. gonna try to get the others tomorrow!

fun fact, around patch 1.09-1.10 they claim to have fix an issue in which crates wont drop if a player entered the green zone.

Just got two different hats. Didn't have any before tonight, an ain't seen a crate in forever.

1) Switch to the character you DO NOT want the hat on.

 

2) Once the characer is loaded, pause the game and leave GTA Online back into Single Player.

 

3) Once Single Player has loaded, hard press the PS3 button on the controller and select "Quit Game".

 

4) Once you are in the PS3 XMB, turn off the PS3.

 

5) Turn on the PS3 and load up GTA into Single Player.

 

6) Once Single Player is loaded, start an Invite Only Session.

 

7) Once the Invite Only Session is loaded (you will currently be on the character you are NOT getting the hat or shirt for), swap characters.

 

8) After the swap has happened, you go right ahead and check your inventory and see what hat you were given.

 

9) When you are ready to do it again, take off any hat you are wearing and start back at step 1.
