I'm on my 10th straight hour of looking for a special crate all I have got were normal crates

I went over 15 hours yesterday. I was a very frustrated person by the end of the night. Just gave up till this morning. did you ever get one?

Has anyone gotten this to work with 2 high level characters with male in slot one and famale in the other? Were you able to get hats for both of them? I keep trying this but I only got it to work once but now I don't even get RP anymore. Well I don't think I am.

 

Answers would be great and aswell more methods for 360 if you changed it anyway

 

I don't know about the high level bit but it is possible if you have 2 different sex chars. Mine worked fine after I had got my first special crate on my main. Can't really test out the hats for both as I haven't tried it.

I got one on the second day (day before yesterday but no hat/shirt). Ended up glitching it. In total I have been trying for 27 hours and I can't glitch it because I don't have the belle t shirt

Okay guys i may have found out a way to get free beer hats. Seeing that people randomly got the hat after switching their character, i wanted to try some testing and it worked! Here it is

 

PS3 method 2:

 

1) Switch to the character you DO NOT want the hat on.

 

2) Once the characer is loaded, pause the game and leave GTA Online back into Single Player.

 

3) Once Single Player has loaded, hard press the PS3 button on the controller and select "Quit Game".

 

4) Once you are in the PS3 XMB, turn off the PS3.

 

5) Turn on the PS3 and load up GTA into Single Player.

 

6) Once Single Player is loaded, start an Invite Only Session.

 

7) Once the Invite Only Session is loaded (you will currently be on the character you are NOT getting the hat or shirt for), swap characters.

 

8) After the swap has happened, you go right ahead and check your inventory and see what hat you were given.

 

9) When you are ready to do it again, take off any hat you are wearing and start back at step 1.

My main character is in slot 1

 

I created a second character today just for this, made sure it was the opposite sex to my main character (ie. male / female etc..) I think this is a very important part of getting it to work!

 

I also own the LS Belle T-Shirt, been told this is other thing you need to make it work

 

Got 3 hats in the first 3 tries. I've been flat out chasing Special Crates, either they glitch out and never appear or there just isn't any of the "special" 1.15 items in the crates.. I really wish R* would sort this out, crates are forever glitching, glad to see on this thread I'm not the only one suffering!

Yes I've picked up Special Crates in the past. I've even picked up 3 today and each one didn't have any of the "special" 1.15 (beer hats, t-shirt) items in them (thanks a bunch R*!!) just the usual minigun or whatever, which makes no difference to me as I unlocked all those items awhile back..

 

 

Another update for PS3 users..

 

I initally had myself spawning my main character (slot 1) in my garage for the first 3 tries and got 3 hats..

 

I then changed the spawn location to the apartment, so I didn't have to waste time with the elevator etc..

 

I didn't get another hat, or the Liberty t-shirt (checked the clothes store each time) for the next 3 tries..

 

I then changed the spawn location back to the garage and instantly got the Liberty t-shirt next try.

 

Not sure if this was due to duplications, but thought I'd mention it

I do not think not having unlocked crates is the culprit. My main has opened 3 crates within a week, but I cannot do the glitch. I have a legit green beer hat and the shirt from the crates, but the glitch doesnt work.

Don't understand much of this... What does "cosmetic reasons" mean? Are there parts in SP that aren't available in MP? Or, are they just cheaper in SP, so you don't have to spend MP money on them? The latter would just be another elaborate money glitch, in essence.

 

Bring in a car stock from SP to MP? I have no issues with that. Bring it in to sell, or mod it so that you don't have to pay for it, or the mods, that's just a roundabout way of money glitching, IMO.

 

 

 

 

 

Custom Paint jobs that cant be done through LSCustoms. NYankton Plate that cant be done in game. These are just 2 very good reasons that dont affect anyone.

 

 

Right, they don't affect anyone. But guess what happens when we want to get rid of a car we got with spmp? We sell it. Yep, not only did we get a fully modded car with freaky colors and cool yankton plate for free, we get some serious dough once we're bored with and want to replace it. Let's be honest about this sh*t.

 

Wasnt that patched? Even if not, are you losing money by someone not buying sharkcards?

I completely understand being upset about people using wall glitches or real modders using god mode but other than that if it doesnt affect your gameplay why get so worked up about it?

Essentially, I get cars for free and then sell them at a later point which gives me a bunch of money. Then I get a new one for free, etc. *_*

Are both your characters male? The majority of people have said both characters should be opposite of one another. If you have a female character as a main character, 2nd slot should be a male, and vice versa.

Just got a patriotic beer hat from a special crate!! Did the 5 1/2 hour method of switching lobbies and it instantly dropped. Me and another character parachuted in and he died from the soldiers guarding it and i ran like a mad man to get it! I wanted to take a pic of the contents but i was too late. I know, to some, this will sound stupid and some would claim "only an idiiot would do that," but I'm gonna go ahead and suggest it anyway...

 

You don't HAVE to sell the car... You could always just replace it in your garage when you want to get rid of it.

 

The point is, if you want to, you can bypass the "free money" part of it. The point is, 99.99% of people that use SP to MP are using it as a form of money glitching, whether it be immediate, or down the road when you're bored with the car, like having "money in the bank."

 

In short, 99.99% of the people that use things like SP to MP are thinking "I'll be able to sell this, either now or later, for free money." They aren't doing it for the car itself... I liken it to the whole "10 Adders" thing, before R* did the money sweeps.

 

Anyway, this isn't really on topic... If you want my opinions on glitches, I'm sure you can gather a sense of what I believe from reading my past posts on the subject.

Yes, both male. But I aint deleting a level 80 character with 2 garages and 20 cars just because of some hats. I have a legit one and you can only wear one at once...

Understandable and I don't blame you at all. Unfortunately, for this glitch to work, you need to have opposite characters. Both characters cannot be male or female. The glitch won't work

Finding a special crate is not the solution! Nor is unlocking crates.

Two days on and I still can't get the glitches to work on PS3, my main is male ( created female secondary), I have unlocked crates, got numerous special crates and have the Los santos belle Tshirt ( including today, in which one gave me a legit beer hat).

I still only get an RP increase when I try this. There is still more to this than we know now. There is something else that is factoring into this.

This whole thing is goofy as f ck IMHO.

 

The green circles were already glitchy as heck and the devs decided to add special items to them without fixing the underlying problem? WTF.

 

I just switched between a dozen sessions... 4 green circles were glitched out by people being too close, 2 other green circles were vacant but nothing ever showed up (I stayed plenty clear!)

 

And people are saying we need to switch characters, delete updates, restart console and all sorts of BS.. what a joke.

Just to mention, i am trying to do the method after having gotten a beet hat from a crate. It does in fact work but so far the one time i did the glitch it gives you the same hat that you get from the crate. A small message pops up in the bottom left hand corner saying crate dropped: beer hat So i can confirm you do need at least one special crate before you can do these glitches

 

I am going to see if wearing a beer hat will give you a different one after doing the glitch

Edit: wearing a beer hat on the main account after trying this glitch gets you a different beer hat!! Just got a benedict one!

Spawned near a glitched green circle, so i went in to investigate, and here's what i found

My frame rate dropped so hard by just looking at the direction of the flares.

Trying at a time that is an 'off' time might help. For example I have noticed you find more lobbies with only a few people in them between 2 and 6 am EST. The less people in the lobby the less competition and less chance someone will glitch a drop. I have also made sure to keep my mental state 'normal' so I am not going against a full lobby of naturally aggressive people for the crates. There is a strategy to it and when you figure it out grabbing special crates is pretty easy as long as you get that message.

Is the character that you're trying to get the hats for the same character that collected your first special crate ever...?

 

I said this earlier, if you have two chars, I'm starting to believe that whichever one of those chars got a special crate first wil be the only one that will be able to access the hats this way. If your main char got a special crate after your secondary, your secondary char will be able to get them using these methods, while your main won't... Don't think it matters what slot each is in, as some have gotten it with char 1 and others have gotten it with char 2.
