GTAO Beer Hat Glitch

i can not believe there is a 36 page thread just about a beer hat.

 

If you could buy them there wouldn't even be a thread about them

You need to have crate drops unlocked or you won't be able to see them!

 

I was able to see two special crate notifications earlier today so I don't think that is it.

 

They just seem to be absent in my past few sessions.

When I did it on ps3 I just got a bit of rp, I think so long as you get rap you've done it right, and for some reason it's a matter of luck whether you get the items or not.

I have a similar problem in that i cant see crate drops even though my freinds in the session can. My main character is level 114 and i have gotten at least one of each normal and special crates but lately im just not getting notifications

I just tried the second method on my family account, which has a male in slot 1 and a female in slot 2 (same as my account) but neither are even at rank 10, so they don't have crates unlocked... Tried doing this from slot 1 to 2 and slot 2 to 1 and got nothing.

 

Still doesn't explain why I can't get them on my account's 1st char slot, while I got them all for my 2nd char slot... My account's chars both have crates unlocked and both have gotten crates (and special crates since 1.15) legit...

 

The only other thing I can think of to maybe get it to work the other way, once you have it going one way is to leave the game on the char you have everything on, delete the update and install and then try it after installing a fresh copy of everything... That's about the only thing I haven't tried as of yet.

 

Quick question: Has anyone started on a higher ranked character and gotten them for a lower ranked character? Maybe it only works for the higher ranked character, regardless of which slot that character is in...?

 

For example, my female is rank 174, while my male is 160... Got them working on the female. Anyone have to opposite result, where their lower ranked char was getting them, but not the higher ranked char...?

I have tried the 2nd PS3 method at least 10 times now with no success..trying to get beer hats on my 2nd slotted character which is a male..he didn't have crates unlocked so I completed the Satellite Communications mission..but still no luck..getting really aggravated.

Is it required to have picked up a special crate legit to get this to work? My character does have crates unlocked, I already did a mission for both Ron and Trevor, I've gotten the phone call from Ron about crates, though I have not done Satellite Communications, Is that needed also? However, every time I attempt the method, I only get RP. I've seen some members mention having to have gotten a special crate legit, would this be a majority agreement? I have my main character who is a level 190+, a male, in the 1st slot and a female character, solely for this, in slot 2 and is level 1.

Here's the thing, though: I have my female in the second slot and have gotten a legit special crate for both chars and it still isn't working when trying to get them for my male char... IOW, while all of your statement might be true, there's something else involved, as it doesn't seem to work both ways (char 1 to char 2 and char 2 to char 1).

 

Some have said that they got it to work starting with the char in slot 2 and swapping to slot 1, thus getting a helmet. I've done it the opposite way, starting with slot 1 and getting the hats on slot 2... what I wanna figure out is how to get them on both slots, as I don't think anyone has cracked that yet... If we can get one person that can get it working on both characters, we might learn a bit more as to what makes it tick.

That's the other thing... I did get one legit on both of my chars... Still not working when going from slot 2 (female) to slot 1 (male).

 

You might need to get a legit one, but even if you do, no guarantee that that will get it to work... It might be a key, but not the master key, so to speak.

I have two 200 rank characters, one male and one female. Both have the Los Santos Belle shirt, which means I got a crate before. Yet only my female is getting the shirt and hat. Male character is just getting RP. He is lower level but not by much.

I will say that i am a bit upset at the existence of this glitch. i worked so hard like all day yesterday to get one of these hats. the crates ARE glitchy, but i dont think its possible for them to not drop at all for you. dont go in the green circle. anyway, i can not criticize seeing as im currently using this glitch to get the rest of the hats. But now my character is no longer "special".

I have two 200 rank characters, one male and one female. Both have the Los Santos Belle shirt, which means I got a crate before. Yet only my female is getting the shirt and hat. Male character is just getting RP. He is lower level but not by much.

Same setup as me...? Male on slot 1, female on slot 2?

Look at my post history outside of this thread... I really don't like glitches, especially ones that are for money or bringing in cars to sell for money. This, IMO, is a bit different, as you don't get any advantage by having these.

 

On top of that, I got 4 special crates legit and one of them was a duplicate (T-Shirt). That's kinda sh*tty, IMO, to have stuff that I need in the crates, but not getting it when I actually did get a crate... In fact, I was wearing the shirt that I had gotten, when I got another special crate containing the same shirt, when I needed 3 beer hats on that char (5 if you count the two nobody has gotten).

 

If they let us keep the duplicates and allowed us to trade them for other items (like if you had a dupe of the pisswasser hat and found someone with 2 of the shirts) or guaranteed that, if we got a crate, we'd get something that we didn't already have (or give us a "coupon" to redeem for the one that we want), I'd probably not have even worried about trying to get them without getting the crates. as it stands, though, I'd need 10 special crates (14 if you count the 2 hats nobody has seen) without getting any duplicates in order to get an entire set... I don't think I've seen 14 special crates drop in the entire time GTAO has been out...

Highly unlikely. Of the four I got legit, three were on my female, one was on my male. I got two "Statue" shirts and a "Supa Wet" hat for my female and the "Patriot" hat for my male... I was able to get items on both chars legit and have the Patriot hat on both of my chars now, so I don't think getting them on one char locks it out of getting it for the other... I got the Los Santos Belle shirt legit on each char as well...

I spent over 15 hours online today. six hours yesterday and 5 hours the day before. I have only seen one special crate and 30 green creates. I did capture the one and only special create I saw but did NOT get a hat or shirt. I captured at least 15 green creates while another 15 where glitched to either not drop or drop but not be able to collect. I spent time hopping lobbies and spent Hours in a single lobby. Special creates arent dropping for me. Screw your need to feel special. I spent a lot of time trying to get the hat(s). I cant even get the damn thing through glitching.

just confirming fennimoe's method is still working. i have got 3 hats so far out of maybe 7 tries but 2 of them i forgot to remove my hat. still no luck with the t-shirt

Try getting one special crate legit that seems to have activated method 2 to work for me.

my main slot is 1 and male i made a female in the second slot she didnt need to get any crates or do any missions and it worked for me on ps3 for 2 hats then stopped until i went to the store to buy the special shirt then the other two hats spawned no problem

Follow Noemnru's glitch in page 13, And make sure your spawn location is not your apartment.

 

 

Just follow the steps:

1.Turn on your PS3, go to game, go to story mode.

2.Press online->choose character->choose character A.

3.After you are online as character A, Press online->Swap character->choose character B.

4.Then character B will receive a random beer hat or the tshirt.

 

To repeat,

5.Leave online

6.Turn off your PS3 using PS button menu.

Repeat step 1.

Doesnt matter i spawn in my apartment and i have all 4 hats now and the tshirt. I just had to go to the store to buy the shirt (it was free) and everythin worked fine.

It works better, I got 2 hats + the shirt in my apartment but I couldn't get the rest so I tried that.

Sounds like each person having their own special crate that only they can see would have been a better option. Just have it more heavily guarded with a lower % chance for getting the hats.

 

The way it is now makes it seem that only a few will get them regardless of the current glitch.
