GTAO Beer Hat Glitch

Okay...so it says I haven't unlocked crate drops, yet I've had crate drops before and successfully snagged them. What to do.

So, out of all this... For PS3, I have determined that this is a very easy way

 

1) Switch to the character you DO NOT want the hat on.

 

2) Once the characer is loaded, pause the game and leave GTA Online back into Single Player.

 

3) Once Single Player has loaded, hard press the PS3 button on the controller and select "Quit Game".

 

4) Once you are in the PS3 XMB, turn off the PS3.

 

5) Turn on the PS3 and load up GTA into Single Player.

 

6) Once Single Player is loaded, start an Invite Only Session.

 

7) Once the Invite Only Session is loaded (you will currently be on the character you are NOT getting the hat or shirt for), swap characters.

 

8) After the swap has happened, you go right ahead and check your inventory and see what hat you were given.

 

9) When you are ready to do it again, take off any hat you are wearing and start back at step 1.

Can confirm this works on PS3. Got it working two times now - I had both my characters wearing eagle masks though

Ive got 2 beer hats and statue of happiness tee shirt for my 1st character without deleting update. The statue of happiness tee shirt I got from just going in new session and recieved message saying crate contained statue of happiness tee shirt and I dont know how I got two beer hats. I aint got no crates and I aint deleted download

Please can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong: my first slot is a level 155 (the guy I want the hat on)my second character is level 8. My first character has crates unlocked but my second character doesnt. Anyways, I switch from first character to my second, from there I dashboard and delete the independence DLC, then I load up gta 5 and while on the loading screen I pressed A to load up online, I got the message saying I have to redownload the DLC, so I did, spawned in as my second character and switched to my primary character and still

Please help I'm on the xbox!

 

Try this way by letting the single player load up, once your in game press start go to xbox store and download the pack from there. Once it's done, join an online lobby and swap your player and see if that works for you

Damn didn't work for me on ps3 but I didn't turn my ps3 off. Instead I signed out and back in, oh well that update took forever. I'll be keeping my eye out for crates.

Yeah I've done it twice, both times I've gotten a small amount of RP on the character I want to get a hat for, but no hats or shirts.

 

My second character doesn't have access to crates yet and my main was wearing a USA top hat so I'm going to take that off and try once m

yea it gave me RP, but i think it was because i spawned in my Apartment sleeping in my bad when i switched to the character i wanted the hat or t-shirt on.

your ment to hold down ur ps3 btton and clicl quit game then turn of ps3 i hold down amd turn of system. someone make a vid so it makes it easier

Its not patched. It isnt working for many of us. There is some prerequisite that we arent aware of. Maybe region or something

Yep third time still didn't work. I'm going to try to unlock crates on my second character.

 

My starting location has been in both my garage and apartment if it matters

Its still working. Can comfirm. I tried it 3 times in a row and got 3 hats. Then failed 3 other times then tried again and got a 4th hat. Now I just got the Happiness is shirt. Just keep trying. (Xbox/OPs tut)
