By the way, what patch are you running in your game? If you plan on using EFLC Map Updates, it doesn't work on patch 4. I haven't tried it on patch 4, but people tell me that it isn't working, and it turns out that they are using patch 4. I'm not sure if it has to do with the object id limit being lower on patch 4 (not sure), or with it being optimized for the updated, but slightly buggier shader system on the new patches.

Yeah, it was transparent. I know it had stuff behind it too, along with a full f*cking ham or something like that.

Hey! I can't download It... :(

When I try to download the page says:

Next task is to make a FIA(Francis International Airport) main terminal interior(see picture below to see what it looks like by default) :

You can make the glass breakable,in some places.

You can take some inspiration from Escopar International: EscobarInternational-GTAVC-mainterminal-

Maybe take some stuff from FIA files from GTA SA hqdefault.jpg

And, of course, from real life airports: twa-terminal-main-concourse.jpgjet_blue_jfk.jpg

Even with reference images though, this will be one tough bitch of a task to do, in other words, it's not gonna be easy to make this interior!

I'll send the images i used as reference to do the Gostown Airport interior by PM. Do you know a good file uploader?

 

BTW, Airport interiors isn't so difficult, you just have to be patient and find out the best way to do. It will consume you a few hours, but you'll make it.

In my case, with the Gostown Airport (which i started but never finished), i made the interior separated from the outside.

That would fit for a lift, not for an airport.

Airport have normal music. He can use The Vibe,K109 or Radio Broker. All of them would fit.

I don't remember there being any music in Vice City's Escobar International Airport, but it is too early to be thinking about this anyway, i'm still fixing up the exterior model and i am kind of getting an idea how my workflow's gonna be ;)

The airport is going to be a big task, so to try and take down the stress of that, do an outline of areas that can be boxed off, such as the entrance areas, drop off points, etc, these are smaller areas that you could work on and block off from the other areas if you don't end up finishing the whole thing so you could still at least release those.

Perhaps, it's easier for me deal with all this new map updating with no EFLC updates on top of all this, that can all be sorted out later when the mod is more closer to completion

 

 

 

 

Man, the exterior model of airport's main terminal was kind of a mess, behind the doors(entrances) to the terminal, there was a wall behind every single door/entrance-set, plus the glass was in the wrong places so i had to remove some of it, now i'm "hiding" the roof and am starting to work from 1 door/entrance, then i'll proccess the others when the main interior is complete(in terms of modeling).

 

On top of all that, there was a glue(dirt, detailing) on some places where the interior is meant to be

 

 

As of right now, i'm confident i'm on the right track to get this done right, but we'll see how it turns out.

Also, the mission in TLAD where you have to kill the guy in the airport from Stubs. It had gates that would close like in GTA SA, and GTA V. That's just the main building and the hallways... terminals that go up to the planes will be blocked off in something like VC airport style

 

 

The announcements thing from TLAD, yeah i remember that and i know the mission it's heard in, so don't worry - i even planned to post about that here but i was AFK when i remembered it and now you beat me to it :p.

 

Also, Saints Row 2 had Wardill Airport interior with announcements, which style of these would be better for FIA, what do you think about it guys?

You could just play the announcements from TLAD, especially seeing as they're pretty unique since they only play in that one mission.

No need to prepare the airport by outside, key is just leave the main outside model untouched, clone it as reference, leave the clone untouched too, and just slice it and remodel everything inside starting by zero, from bottom to top.

If some exterior wall or detail is overlapping inside the building and it is crossing with another overlapping wall from outside and you want to clean up the interior and leave it void (as it should be), detach the first overlapping wall as clone, boolean it with the second overlapping wall as UNION, and just erase the walls inside. If you want to, you can send me the 3ds file, and i take care of the cleanup for you

Almost like Gostown Airport. Curvy and slopy. yeah, i was right. Where is the Slice modifier? You sliced the top virtually by using the slice option?

 

I saw you did some shell modifier on it. I don't think it is a good idea. i would do without shells but with splines and extruding

Ever tried using a boolean'd model as a collision? Invisible col-walls out the ass. :p Not to disrespect the fact you're giving him legit info, we need more people like that, just thought id mention before any un-restorable progress is made that boolean has issues when it comes to exporting to GTA. (that was a while back now, maybe newer max versions fixed this).

 

Keep up the good work, can't wait to see more of the airport. :^:

 

As you wanna add airport ambient audio but cannot use the native GAME.DAT16 method that you did for the shop interior, send me a mp3 with some airport ambient audio (use freesound or something) and i can throw together a .asi that plays the audio when the player is inside the building or near it. Granted, it's not the official R* way but there doesn't seem to be any other alternative.
