I say get rid of the livery one. Only about half of the people realize what vehicle it is.

None of the code slots that are presently know here, codes for the "custom tires" option. You need to look it up to know what I mean, but the option usually results in text or white sides on the wheels. It is not the selection of rims that I'm talking about.

I'm sure that even if iFruit itself does not send some code slots for certain vehicles to Rockstars servers, they probably would be possible to incorporate in Charles and some of them could have effect on the outcome of the vehicle.

 

I actually tried this yesterday when I took a Declasse Tornado convertible, it's the normal ingame car often found as a gang vehicle for the Vagos in most south-east of Los Santos, and copied its code in Charles. I then just replaced the vehicle ID in the code with the ID for another Declasse Tornado in my garage, a car which is a different car in regards of game files. Visually, it has the same body but its a rusty variant with the top permanently down and has some crap in the backseat, it is popularly known as "the mariachi car". Even though I used the code slots for visual modifications for the Declasse Tornado, for instance for bugcatcher and different exhausts, it had no effect on the Mariachis visual appearance at all except for the sockets for the headlights that with the xenon option became exactly like on the newer Declasse Tornado.

 

Now, I realize that for a car to be possible to modify visually there must be options for it put there by the programmers, for instance to be able to put a bugcatcher on the hood of a car there must be a bugcatcher available specific for that car albeit it does not necessarily have to be an option in iFruit or LSC. However, when it comes to rims, turbo, chassi colour, horn, smoke colour, tinted windows etc it works because its all generic stuff that is not dependent on other objects. That's why its possible to modify the old rusty Mariachi with all those things - which I did - or to replace the rims of a Sanchez Livery or put turbo on an electric car like the Voltic Coil. Reason for me using the newer Declasse Tornados code in Charles is because iFruit does not give any options to modify the "Mariachi" - it is simply not visible. In LSC there are no other modification options for the Mariachi besides tracker, insurance and vehicle bombs. Similarly can be said for rims on the Sanchez Livery and turbo for Voltic Coil in LSC or iFruit (as far as I've been told about the Voltic Coil and Sanches Livery, haven't tried them out myself).

 

Hence, I have not given up hope on trying out different code slots and inserting new values in these iFruit modification orders, as well as experimenting what would happen if I add a code slot that is not supposed to be there. Discoveries are often made by people who mess around with things they don't fully understand, worst case I'll get a return ticket from Rockstars servers saying the order didn't go through.

 

I hope I cleared some stuff out for some readers. I'm new to this and would appreciate any feedback on what I've written. I'm sure there are things I've misunderstood or simply do not know.

Also, what was the vehicleID of the Mariachi version?

I would love a stock-looking, modified version of that sweet ride, with La Cucaracha as the horn.

@ dvntsvnt: fwiw, the Mariachi Tornado I modded in sp and transferred to mp had all sorts of performance mods and yes, that one horn. It even has chrome paint. All those mods stuck so I see no reason why this shouldn't be the case for a charlesed one.

Yes, the modifications stayed. The vehicle id is 2261744861. You may find other vehicle id's here.

 

Mine has turbo and all available upgrades, unfortunately its not possible to visually modify it besides rims and colours and plate (my plate is NY and says MARIACHI). I have yet not decided which colours I should repaint it with. I'm also looking for a slot that codes for "Custom tires" (i e on lowrider tires the tires sides becomes white).

 

....mine is already equipped with La Cucaracha as horn!
