Pc vs ps2

Ok this is my comparison of PC gaming to Console gaming...

 

For someone starting from scratch here it is....

 

What you need to get started?:

 

PC: example a PC that will play GTA no problem and is a good PC for strictly gaming $1,259 GTA (3 or vice) $49.99 (ebgames.com)

 

PS2: A PS2 $199 GTA (3 or vice) $49.99 (ebgames.com)

 

Graphics:

 

PC: PC's have very fast refresh rates and depending on the system the have very fast processors and hardware.

 

PS2: the refresh rate isn’t as fast as a PC, and the hardware isn’t as fast either. But it does a great job for what it is.

 

Gameplay

 

PC: PC's start with only a keyboard and mouse. Which is nice for online games (chatting ect.). If u want a controller u have to buy one. Logitech Wingman Rumble Pad $29.99(ebgames.com). Some people can play with the keyboard and mouse but that’s an opinion and were looking for facts.

 

PS2: comes with one controller. If u want a keyboard it will set u back, Sharkboard $19.99 (best buy). With the analog sticks a mouse isn’t really nessacery unless you like it.. Which is opinion again.

 

Sound:

 

PC: on average most people don’t have a kick'n system hooked up to their computers. There is nice PC sound systems out there though.

 

PS2: uses your TV and your home theatre, stereo or whatnot.

 

There are more options for sound with a TV then a PC so the console gets this one.

 

Value

 

PC: Total of $1308.99(+tax not including controller). Sounds pricey but with a PC u can surf the net, send emails, do reports and whatnot. But if you’re looking for a gaming machine then u don’t care about that stuff.

 

PS2: Total of $248.99(+tax not including keyboard). More affordable? Yes but, it doesn’t surf the net send emails and things like that. It’s strictly a gaming machine.

 

Setting up & Maintaining:

 

PC: PC's can be a pain to setup or they can be as easy as pie, just depends. The thing with a PC is if u use up all your hard drive you suffer a graphical slow down (lot of space to take up, I know, but vie seen it done). If you play online a virus scanner wouldn’t be a bad idea ($49.99 est.). It’s also a good idea to go in once in while and clean up your hard drive of things you don’t need anymore that might be slowing you down. A PC isn’t that hard to maintain, u just got to sit down and do it.

 

PS2: PS2 setup is as easy as plugging it into the wall. You just pop a disc in and it’s going. There’s really no maintaince on a console gaming machine besides your Memory card. Which takes a bout 2 mins at max. Maybe keeping it clean so dust doesn’t get into it.

 

Cool Features

 

PC: one of the nice things with a PC is "Mod" or modifying the game. For instance u can add almost any car u want to a car game. Change the look of a weapon, things like that its fun to do. Another is MP3's what a great idea that was, make a mad list of your fav. Songs and add them to your fav. game. Lots of upgrades to make it faster and cooler. (There are more but that’s enough for now)

 

PS2: a nice thing about a console is you always know the games will work.. and work well. There are a lot of games that will never be released on PC (PC does too but the games aren’t as "HOT" as the titles on consoles). It plays DVD’s like a DVD player does no hassle.. Pop in a DVD and hit play. (DVD isn’t hard to use on PC but some people:sarcasm: can’t seem to get it as fast as others)

I love my PC. It crashed for 3 months and I don’t no how I go though it but I did. But as far as gaming goes, I personally think that console has better games cause of the style I like. Also my PC is fast but it isn’t the fastest (1.3ghz AMD) I played GTA3 on this and it looked like sh*t. Which is because my video card sucks and video cards are like $89.99-$399.99. That’s a lot of money for me.

 

I play Playstation because I feel it is the best System for what I wanna do. Im very sure that a PC would Rule all when it comes down to it but, I play guitar, I am fixing up my 1967 Dodge Charger and I just don’t have the money to spend on a Massive Gaming PC setup, and im sure most of u cant either. The features on a PC are totally cool and I might try vice on this when it comes out but overall for the money I think that a console is the better route if you’re looking to just game.

 

In the End it’s not for me to decide for you what to use its up to you im just stating facts and my opinion to help.

P.s. the Alienware machine may be pricey but I chose to use it on this cause I think it’s a good, well known gaming machine. With as many PC’s as there are out there its had to find one that is bottom of the line but still plays games good and.. blah blah blah… u known what im getting at.

i like ps2's because they are alot less complicated than pc's. ps2's don't crash at-all apart from dre's.

 

but i prefer pc's because you can mod things with them...

actully a poll was takin in a magazine or something and most people that own PS2's are 16-26. i dont no what the numbers now but its gotta be close.. + when i said to say something i didnt mean for u to dis on people. u like and have a PC.. thats fine i dont care but, leave it at that. i like and have a PS2 but i know PC's are really good i just cant afford 1 that is a gaming machine.

pc is better than ps2 in one thing.the mods.the mods make pc gta amazing bcuz of the realism it produces.

True, ps2 is more kiddie, for 13 and less year olds.. PC you can import ur own mp3's for gta3 and prolly for VC when it comes out, so u dont have to listen to the same thing over and over... plus you cant make mods and addons..

 

But i know why VC is made for ps2 before PC, even tho its rated Mature (for 17+ yr olds and more 17 yr olds prolly use a comp instead of ps2) its because you need a really good comp to run gta3 smoothly (and prolly gta vc) but ps2 comes with everything, so u just put the cd in and u automatically can play the game.. also rock* knows not many people care for the ESRB ratings, so basically 10 yr olds play VC, which is kinda sad, heh.

PS2 and XBOX are next gen systems.. u wanna talk little kid systems Nintendo didnt age with use like ever 1 else did. if u look at the titles there are most M games then anything else on the PS and XBOX but the Nintendo is almost all E rated. im not defending the PS im just saying. if i could afford a bad ass PC system id have 1 but i cant so im a PS2 guy. (id still play PS though even if i had a dope PC for the games)
