So, I've grown quite fond of races turning out to be exactly 0.62 miles long. And for some reason I do have quite a few, without them having loss of good checkpoint placement. So trying to set up a playlist with my favourite 0.62 mile races. Post yours and I might add it to the list!

Vinewood Loop Short Track

 

Recently made track, not played it yet, was fun in creator, need to fix the start finish line.

 

Edit. Been through all my races (204 lmao) and only had one more at 0.62 miles.

 

Surprising, I thought my Short Track series of races, or my 8 DD (Demo Derby) races would have a few at this length.

Palmer 8 DD

Racy 8 DD (Demolition Derby) track at the Palmer-Taylor power station.

 

Some of my 8 DD tracks have more carnage, this one is a wee bit racier.

 

I like the idea of the 0.62 mile playlist mate.

Not too fond of the Vinewood Loop track, mostly props disturbing me, like the glitched finish. The one in 'refuso's 8 track' works better as it doesn't look that glitched.

 

Very fond of the Palmer 8 track, though not sure why it's with sandkings? It's like a perfect race track? Played it with four or five and was a mess, that's probably why you called it a DD. Would love to try this with motorcycles or muscles maybe.

Yeah, the start/finish line didnt work as intended. I'll revisit it (again) soon. Did you like the route though?

 

Didn't realise Palmer 8DD was Sandking restricted, its no problem to open up other classes (although off-road will remain locked to Sandking - a theme in my 8 DD tracks - maximum size; maximum carnage).

Yeah the route was fine, but was thinking maybe reversed would work better? Not sure though. Will have a rerun.

 

And seems like it isn't locked to class. Just the offroad class got locked. Will rerun with differen class too!

I have quite a few .62 mile races. Been working on making a short(shortish, for some) lap-race for each individual car.

 

The one-make races are coming along quite well, with about half of all the cars done to this point, I try to keep the laps short as possible.(made two at .62 mi just last night).

Replayed Palmer 8 DD and was wondering why you left motorcycles out? I also forgot to mention how fantastic I found the cp's and start/finish and propping actually. It is definately a personal favourite as a 'normal race'. Could you like make a duplicate or something without the 'DD' part and some other vehicle class as standard? As it works fantastic with muscle, and would probably love this even better with motorcycles.

Played Bighorn Short Track and liked it a lot, though had some minor checkpoint notes: Maybe would move cp 5 back to the middle of the chicane or even before? Though after a lap or two it works fine. And maybe cp 8 can go?
Loved the propping at the 180 turn but at cp 2-3 the container could be placed a little more aesthetically? Can't you place a straight line of containers? Or just get rid of them? Fantastic cp placement and lovely track!!
Added them both to the list and renamed it as yours don't have 5 laps.
I also added a new track of mine that quite has become a personal favourite (which doesn't happen too often):

Agreed on the improvements to Bighorn. It seems some of my nicely placed container had turned invisible, rendering the whole corner ugly. I went with the striped/normal concrete to cover the exit of that hairpin. Works much better race-wise AND aesthetically, so thanks.

 

Made a copy of Palmer and opened it to all vehicles (apart from cycles, vans and utility). Changed description as well.

Racy 8 track at the Palmer-Taylor power station suitable for all classes. Take care at the crossover section and look out for the explosive barrels.

Lap race around Legion Square that should be locked to the Bati 801, but for some reason the Soveriegn is available and I can't remove it....

Ran these as a non-contact playlist last night with up to 14 racers. A good time was had by all.

Yep Deej, fun time indeed. Apart from driving the Boat.. I mean Blade.. in the rain on Palmer... Liked all the other tracks a hell of a lot, especially in compacts.

 

Oh and those invisible props on whichever one that was. Always a giggle when 12 of 14 drivers miss a turn tho :D

 

Chicane on the Vespucci one was a hazard on the 1st lap, if only because the size of the props affects visibility. After the 2nd lap I was just sailing thru it, no problem. Compacts would've made a sizable difference tho.

 

Was a real interesting and surprisingly different run. Great to just put down lap after lap and really get into the turns. I did astoundingly well by my own abominable standards, I think short track racing suits me... Somehow.. Attention span or something...

 

What was I saying?

Totally fell in love with the whole .62 mile thing. I'm truly glad deejay got into it too because it's really challenging. It's sacrifice. Getting cp's perfect, and still trying to get the track you intended.

 

I hope I'll get to run them all tonight.

motorbikes

1-16 players never can get more than 4 or 5 to join

mostly 2 to 3 will join

get 4 or 5 in there race is pretty intense

standard race 6 laps takes about 3 minutes start to finish

small ramps

also put in speed boost for gta race

Hardstone Curvings is an awesome race. Great jumps and very good use of the terrain. Definitely keeping that one in my bookmarks to play again. Great pace right from the get go. Nice touch with the jump where you land on the starting checkpoint. Great picture. Of the three I played this is my favorite for sure.

Bermuda's Triangle is a tough race but a fun one. I enjoyed it. Great picture on this one too.

 

Very cool route on O'neil's Bone Track. I am partial to offroad races and I thought this one was fun.

 

 

Very high quality races. I bookmarked the rest and will play them soon.

Like the idea but cp's weren't good, the track was ok though. Propping also could be better imo.

Rockford Short 0.62: CP 3 can go, 9 may have to stay. I'll have a look.

 

Palomino Short Track: Yeah. Not happy with container propping myself tbh. This track needs an overhaul, hence my comments when posted.

 

Carson Short Track: 5 and 11 I agree can go. It shouldn't affect 0.62 distance. 13 will probably stay though dude.

 

Imagination Momentum 0.62: Thanks man. One of my favourites.

 

Harmony Short 0.62: CP 4 can probably go, you are right. I think I've already edited out CP 9. The one before finish will remain as that small curve is crucial for my 0.62 distance, plus it stops people running massively wide and gaining an advantage on the previous hairpin.

 

Palmer 0.62: This is a weird one. I love this as part of my 8 DD playlist, less so as a short track. You and a few others do seem to love it though, just goes to prove different strokes for different folks.

 

Boring trigger placements in the middle of the road clutter up my map. I look for somewhere out the way, sometimes the 'ready up' screens are cool due to this, sometimes less so.

 

I have yours added now Stronk, will provide a nice detailed review as you did when I get to play them. Nice work fella.

0.62 bug has officially been caught. All I'm making atm is 0.62 tracks. I've been round the city scouting locations, laying out CP's only to find the route is 0.65 or 0.59 miles - exit - start afresh.

True story. This was directions given to me when trying to get into Anfield stadium. We'd driven into the players carpark, and the attendant gave us those directions to the customer car park. In a Scouse accent. It was veeeery funny.

Treble Kirby 8DD 0.62 H2H

Yeah. I went there. 4 of my themed track types collide in this Elysian Island Freeway lap race. A short 8 track with triple hairpin suitable for demo derby racing or head to heads with shotgun starts. Viewing platform available at the health packs in GTA mode.

I really did like this one, maybe it was those barriers, lol.

Really tho, it's the flow of it. With a lot of these, they're pretty tight and tend towards a small variety of turns and such. This has that really nice wide hairpin that can be a bit deceptive (got that in one of mine and I've never driven it in any other race but this one), there's the slalom part, a nice long speed section and that fast chicane at the end of the lap. It felt a fair bit longer than 0.62, almost like a proper race! ;)

 

Also liked Carson Short a lot as well but it was basically for that chicane around CP2/3. Was nice to nail that with a little flick.

Imagination Momentum did it for me too, with the elevation changes and the AARGH, fkn houses in the road! Oh wait, that works...
