Yes, but you cancelled out alot of your sayings. It was a nice review but that's to the naked eye.
Tenacious_Dude
jackass i never said that ps2 was better i said that they were the same - there's no difference whatsoever. and don't say pc has better graphics-it doesn't. unless u stare at ur computer screen looking for every teensy tiny thing. and jackass, u just got a 70 gig computer and 70 gig is a lot. of course it'll fit. But people with, y'know, real lives, don't spend all their money on new computers and computer games and extra space etc. they are happy with the one they have and only buy a new one if the old one packs in. their first prioritie isn't usually spending $6000 on a brand new top of the line computer. with ps2 u know you'll never have to buy a new one or get it updated or anything. and you'll never run out of space on ps2. and another pro for ps2 is that you can rent games. with pc u just have to pray that the game will be good. and if you buy the game and it sucks then thats $50 to $100 down the drain. with ps2 and ps1 and xbox and gamecube etc you can rent games first before you buy them. the ps2 has pros and cons and the pc has pros and cons. no difference at all. aggressor27
A lot of you are forgetting something- the reason PS2 has little or no lag at all is because the game developers have to make the game to comply with the requirements of the PS2 power plant, in essence, they may have to down grade to fit the needs of PS2 if they want to sell their product through Sony. PC's can always be upgraded, as stated numorous times, I only reiterate, as well as the actual product. Glitches come frequently with any software you encounter, and are easily alleviated with a patch. Something you cannot do with the PS2, or any console for that matter. It was stated earlier that PC's need constant upgrades, which can get expensive, I agree. But in two years the PS2 will be out-dated as better things come along, and we all know the next console will price around $500. In retrospect, it is cheaper to upgrade a video card or processor than it is to buy a completely new console while the last one you had collects dust or you sell it in a garage sale for a fraction of what it was worth. [EDIT] Hey jackass, I didn't read your post until after I finished mine, I didn't mean to cop any of your ideas.

SolidCheat
To quote Jackass: Another plus for the pc is the high replay value thanks to MULTIPLAYER. i know ps2 is comin out with multiplayer, but itll never be as good, itll be harder to find servers, u cant chat w/o a keyboard. and first-person-shooters blow without a mouse. i still play rainbow 6 and i bought that about a year and a half ago. its so much more fun to play against actual people with real intelligence (well, at least most of them), than against an AI that becomes predictable quickly. There IS a reason that there are two USB ports on the front of the PS2. Im sure that sooner or later a keyboard and mouse will become available. aggressor27
Yeah, the reason is Typing Of The Dead. Enjoy. Nah, seriously, Tuff_Luv brought up some good reasons why multiplayer for GTA is still a while away, I'll edit in the link in a minute... [EDIT] Ok, click here, ya puds. Read the entire thread too. A few added good points there.
SolidCheat
...Well, it was just a theory with the keyboard thing. (Hell, that'd be scary tho, typing of the dead? "Destroy the evil monsters by typing out all known adverbs and proverbs, or go online and take on friends in the TYPEMASTER'S DUNGEON!" Ah, brings back the days of "edutaiment" software in elementary school. God love Math Circus.
Pops_Capo
Here's my opinion. The PC will always win with graphics, but There are 1001 different PC specifications and making a game to take this into account will always mean that it won't run smoothly on all machines. Also, the PC is horrible to control, even with a gamepad I had to use the mouse and keyboard aswell! PS2s are very easy to set up, no installation, and the game will definately work well on it. Also, a dedicated machine will always perform a particular task better than a device built to perform a wide range of tasks i.e. a PC. I can also play PS2 in my own room, and not have to share like I do with PC.
Tenacious_Dude
since evryone has been saying, i might as well add my two cents to this- you have to buy a brand new console every few years not true. I had ps1 without ever having the intention of buying a ps2 (until vice came out). Only the geeks who have to have the latest gaming technology and sh*t go and buy it as soon as it comes out. u can save almost $200 by waiting a few years before buying the new console and by then gta4 or whatever is out on ps3 at the time will be cheaper as well and you can buy it second hand so that lowers the cost even more. SolidCheat
Yeah, but then it aint as much fun. I waited about a year or two after it came out, only two months before Vice was released. Best move I've ever made in the ways of purchasing a console.
x_factor2002
You say that the graphics run much faster on PS2 than Pc, and also say that you need an amazingly fast computer, to be honest with you, get a life. You're one of these people like someone I met once, that has a game on PC, and cos it don't work thinks its crap. It's cos you don't have the knowldge to make it work. And about the Graphics, well a PS2's max resolution (if you know what that is) is 640x480, the PC's lowest in GTA3. I have a year old computer that you can get for £350 now, and its still 1.8ghz and has a lot of ram , i put more in.
Spetsnaz
I said this once before. Its like comparing an thriller to a comedy. One will probably be a better film, with better acting and a better script, but and the end of the day its down to personal taste. Also, its hard to compare ps2 to PC simply because a ps2 owns and sh*tter of a PC, but a good/average PC owns a ps2. Some people dont like steering with the keyboard, but I use a steering wheel, which beats a gamepad, which beats a keyboard ( ). I think graphics are very important, i dont really want to play on a 50'' TV if the edge of Tommy's leg looks like a tooth saw(whatever you call it)... Anyhow, what im saying is PC sits astride ps2 in a scale of... greatness, but as PC has the potential to be "better", I suppose it is. Of course a good PC cost a lot... etc.

tuff_luv_capo
why can't we all just get along and except that the Playstation is immensely better?
Logan
why can't we all just get along and except that the Playstation is immensely better? Cuz a Playstation won't do your homework. Cuz a Playstation won't cut down on your phone bills. Cuz a Playstation won't link up 64 players in a game of Tribes 2. Cuz a Playstation won't let you work around a scratched CD by copying the files to your hard drive. Cuz a Playstation won't let you set up your own music playlists when you get tired of listening to Lazlow running his mouth. Cuz a Playstation won't add multiplayer in a later patch. Cuz a Playstation won't load up your custom car models and player skins. Cuz a Playstation won't rig up voice communication for a game of Counter-Strike. Cuz a Playstation won't teach you how to make a living by being able to use it well. Cuz a Playstation won't run the software of a budding young programmer. Cuz a Playstation won't let you tweak its hardware to get rid of that damn fuzzy spot in the upper right-hand corner. Cuz a Playstation won't run international games out of the box. Of course, in the name of fairness, I suppose I should include at least ONE advantage of a Playstation: Cuz a Playstation won't confuse a twelve year old kid who just wants to play Crash Bandicoot without having to learn about "Dee El El" files or "Direct Ecks Versions". But then again, would a Playstation let you post on this forum to discuss your favorite game? I think not. P.S.: I think the word you were looking for was "accept", not "except". wildstyler2002
Basically I couldn't care less whether it is on PS2 or PC, as long as it isn't on XBOX. The reason I bought a PS2 just to play the game is so I don't have to wait for the PC version and because my PC is too full of SH!T to handle the damn good game. Tenacious_Dude
Okay, you've driven me to this people: Computer: Pros: Better graphics (sorta), patches, multiplayer, can do other things, "less slow down" <<<thats not what i think but some people think that tho Cons: Have to install games, games will not always work, you need a really good computer for it to work properly, most games will never be released on pc, games take up space on hard drive. PS2: Pros: Games will definately work (unless theres scratches), don't have to install games, controller is easier to use (imo), wider range of games, easy to start. Cons: No patches, "bad graphics" <<<not my opinion, others opinion um thats about it. ne1 got ne more? Oh yeah, spetznas, some people don't like steering wheels. i despise steering wheels kuz one time i spent about 200 bucks on one, then about three days later, because it was so easy to pull/push off the table it fell off and broke. plus you can get a steering wheel for the ps2. good point tho
