This thread is now the location of everything relating to any rumors and speculation currently out for Grand Theft Auto 5, as of update 1.15. These include, but are not limited to, reported leaks, hidden files, new events, new vehicles, and anything else that may soon be coming to GTA Online. You may also feel free to add your own ideas of what may or may not be in the works. Who knows, maybe that idea you have isn't too far off the mark of what Rockstar actually has planed? Heists Have Been Leaked

The details of GTA's long awaited Heists are reportedly to have been leaked, with credit given to multiple sources.

 

 

The Heist Update is to include many new activities, mission types, and even a bump in player count. Including:

• Prison Van Rescue: Criminals intercept a noose van driven by NPCs and free the gang member then take him back to the gang house. 16 cops and 16 criminals can join the mission. Opens at rank 5 and is triggered by a phone call.
• Drop Off Hooker: Blips will appear in player’s territories. The player has to go and pick up a prostitute and drop her off somewhere. The player has a time limit.
• Funeral: Gang members must escort a lieutenant’s hearse through town. Rival gang members have to get in the hearse and destroy it. This triggers after Escort Crook Boss if the boss is killed.
• Territory Takeover: Players can fight to take over territory in the game, this will produce a revenue stream for them.
• Fight Gang Mate: Two teams have a fist fight with each other. The gang lieutenant gets two team mates to have a fight as part of their initiation.
• Cop Territory: Cops are put onto the territory takeover missions, they get no choice whether to take them or not.
• Ornate Bank Heist: Get behind the counter of the bank, hack into the vault, steal the money and take it to the drop off location. 16 cops and 4 criminals can join this mission.
• FIB Grab: Abseil down the FIB tower, break in, download data, escape. 4 crew, 3 abseilers, 1 driver, 16 cops and 4 criminals can join this mission. All 4 fly a helicopter to the FIB roof, 3 abseil down the tower, smash windows into office and hack a data terminal to get classified data. Meanwhile, the driver dumps the chopper and collects a getaway car and escapes to the gang hideout. The crooks skydive out of the office to a getaway car and escape to the gang hideout. The cops join once the crooks is inside the office, and cops are told to arrest the crooks. The FIB office has AI agents that must be shot, 2 waves of AI agents also enter based on hack progress and shoot to kill.

 

 

New, Unreleased Weapons.

 

 

Present in the game's files are multiple unused textures and data relating to weapons, some of which we have recently gotten, such as the new knife.

The Independence Day Update

People sniffing around the update files have found a number of interesting new files and xml codes relating to an update, relating directly to the United States' holiday.

• A release is scheduled on or around July 4th.
• Including the possible introduction of a new attack helicopter, vehicles, Independence Day relating clothing, masks, and more.

In regards to the Independence Day update: Going by the previous holiday themed pack (The Valentine's Day Special), it can be assumed that this pack, were it to happen, would be a limited time update as well. I have no issues with that, and this would mean that if the Hunter was a part of this pack, it would become a rare vehicle much like the Roosevelt.

 

What I'd like to see from this update in the clothing department would be Minutemen/Redcoat uniforms, tricorn hats and "Founding Fathers" masks. Vehicle-wise, perhaps as others have suggested, some true American muscle cars and milit'ry vehicles. As previously found in left over game files, I'd like to see the Heavy Rifle, Assault MG and Assault Sniper be made available for purchase.

 

As a small, holiday-themed update, I wouldn't expect it to have much more than a few items per category. The possibility of it being a limited time offering means that any items purchased will be highly sought after. But of course - exorbitant prices will be abound were this update to contain everything this community has been hoping for.

Don't know if this counts but there was a leak of a scar and lmg along with the hipster guns already added. The leak was before the hipster update was available by someone named Steven Hacker. It could be possible that they might add the lmg and the scar.

It is most certainly the Ornate Bank Heist.

 

Looking at the speculated content, only 2 actual Heists seems a bit disappointing as does the fact that Cops v. Criminals (Crooks) implies Heists will be glorified Versus Missions and not Contact Missions which would be most disappointing.

 

Increasing player numbers will make for the worst game play yet as how for example with 16 vs 16 players in Prison Van Rescue would you get the inmate back to a safehouse without someone blowing him/her up in the getwaway vehicle? Drop off Hooker, Funeral and Fight Gang Mate seem completely pointless and would add no value to the game.

 

Really is this was long awaited Heists, less the two actual Heists (in the sense they align with SP Heists format), I can hear the bitching and moaning beginning almost instantly.

But after the Hipster Update had been 100% leaked including the title and notes of it, maybe i should not judge the veracity of the dlc too soon. Now they appear with another possible leaked DLC, and i believe that it can be real again. "Founding Fathers" masks.

 

I hadn't thought about it but that would be perfect. Tons of people have asked for "president" masks because of the movie Point Break, but since Rockstar tries to make everything in its world fictional, right down to the President (forget what his name is in the HD universe, but it's a fictional character). So it would make a lot more sense to use historical figures that would still be recognizable.

 

I would put my money on the Mount Rushmore presidents instead of just founding fathers. But good idea all the same.

This thread will prevent the front page fill up with useless crap that should have been locked last October. It seems the Search function is unknown to many, and used by none. Good idea OP. Let's just hope the trolls and flamers stay out.

 

My most recent findings on the Internet point to three main things.

 

1. Heists look like a disappointment waiting to happen. This idea of PvP missions is not what I wanted, neither did many others. We wanted Heists like the Single Player mode. The PvP will render the planning room useless, personally. I don't want Versus made pretty. I want money and bank heists, stealing items worth millions using plans I made with my crew. I don't like what I have seen so far.

 

2. Independance Day DLC may become a thing. It's quite a major American holiday as far as I'm aware, which would make sense in having as Los Santos is in America.

 

3. Casino DLC code has been leaked, apparently. So we may very well see the Casino become a hotspot for many servers. I have played semi-professional Poker so I would be interested in playing it on this game, much like on RDR.

 

I also think that Next Gen will begin a new era in GTA. Having new and old areas added to GTA Online is a definite possibility as it was mentioned before release. We could get to play in San Fierro and Las Venturas, as well as Liberty City, which would just require 1080p textures and some places to live. The future holds potential. But we will see what Rockstar will do to blow our minds.

 

EDIT: I changed a sentence asking how this is an official thread. Now I see that it has been pinned. Who am I to question Raavi? Let us give him a cookie for this blessing.
