It's been a while since I was on here.

 

So yeah, my experience with GTA5 Online was horrendously frustrating. :rampage:

Ridiculously expensive weapon and car customizations, unable to remember what hairstyle my character has, god-awful lag, the inability to keep sufficient money without resorting to those stupid micro-transactions, etc. And don't even get me started on the players.

 

This multiplayer experience gave me the impression of a rushed, broken game. It has left me on the verge of tears. :cry:

 

Anyone else having similar experiences?

well, that can only be determined by examining how short you fell of your goals -.- what is it you desire to do in this game, hm? Draw closer and Tell me little one.

I'm with the OP, for the same reasons. The player community is full of sh*theads and assholes. The game design does not encourage much else except PvP and trolling. Not a bold new direction so much as Unreal Tournament with cars and a bigger map.

And I hope somebody asks for some advice quick, fast and in a hurry, before this gets tossed in the "bitching and moaning" waste bin.....

The game is just not deep enough. It's an open world sandbox, but all there is to do is in the open world is the PvP deathmatch called free-roam. There's nothing to do but shoot. Almost every mission mode and mini-game except store robberies and gang wars are routed off to a separate world, which reminds me too much that I am in a game with distinct state and modes, rather than a continuous open world. If people gather in an apartment, the only social interaction is to run through the new gestures and the whole group in the apertment is doing it. The interaction situation is comically shallow.

Well. Before GTA Online, I would defend Rockstar and GTA series at all cost. But after GTA Online, everytime I read or hear "Rockstar", it's like seeing or hearing the word "bullsh*t".

 

Thankfully, I have my eyes opened and not depend my life and free time to this game only.

Well, given that,

I didn't see any questions about what a person might be able to do to possibly better their gaming experience amid all of these "faulty R* designs" within your post :/ so I'll just keep my suggestions to myself for now

I'm just in a holding pattern until the PC version ships. So I can finally fix all the f@cking shiite R* decided to shaft me off in SP. And find a way to add as much GTAO features into SP if possible along the way.

 

Best part: I'll finally have a semi-decent, heavily customized, modded game which--if I'm lucky---will be a ghostly remnant of SA. Especially since it will finally be a ZERO UFO, chr@dder @$$hat, chimpmunk chirper, pot head mike whoring, N-word mike raping, racist, hackers and griefer stress free zone. :)

This game is entertaining, but no substance, I found myself taking a break from it and playing other games, there's just nothing to do...I like to race and DM, but I have to sort through user created garbage for 45 minutes before I find a decent game...Or, I can troll in free mode, which to me is boring as f#ck.

The game has got flaws but we're just expecting so much out of it we don't appreciate the good things.
If your game doesn't lag, isn't stuck in loading, freezes, gets hacked, your console fries itself or you get attack by a cat, it's quite a good game.
Just take breaks as I realized playing too much is such a job that it ruins the fun. I used to wake up and play until I needed to go to bed so I was well into 10 hours, if not 12 hours of gaming depending when I woke up and when I slipped back into bed. The money aspect ruins the game a bit as we're all trying to make money, spend it and make more. GTA IV had it good; you jumped online, looked how many people were at the airport and did what you wanted. Now? Everyone is shopping, trolling, killing one another or just do what they want without you having a schedule of it. There's no real "one spot" to hang out at. It sucks. The game could be better but it's great so far.

The community of it is what annoys me the most. So many stupid people playing GTA V that I sometime quit a lobby just from hearing other people. People are either super cheery that you'd rather live with Flanders from The Simpsons or hate you just for existing. You're doing a mission and before you can enter your car a guy runs you over and uses up the only life your team had and then you get one-shot killed by an AI and you can't f*cking spawn because that asshole that ran you over is doing donuts in the parking lot like a f*cking mug. ARRRRRRGHHHHHHH I HATE THEM.

Overall, a nice experience.

Ok. Lemme say this:

 

It's fine if the PC and nex gen systems are gonna "magically fix everything"

 

Its fine if you take a break from and get some fresh air. You should do that anyways.

 

It's also fine if you discuss "why I rockstar makes me mad" or whatever.

 

But the bottom line is, if you still own the game, you have a choice: play it or not. If you wanna quit, take your disc copy to your local game store and get somethin worth your time. If you wanna play it it stil, it'd be in your best interest to consider what you can do to make the game better for yourself. A few people agreeing with an opinion of yours on a forum isn't gonna make all the "asshats" playing online come to a halt and do what you think is best. So figure out what you want, make your choice, and then move forward with that.

 

(Btw, those of you who downloaded GTAV are just stuck :p lol)
