Fort Zancudo soldier patches

Out of curiousness, has anybody noticed any of the patches the soldiers at Fort Zancudo wear and if they're based on real ones or not? I've seen a few but I couldn't identify any of them off the top of my head. The only one I could point out was one of the 1st Calvary, which I ended up taking a picture of.

Yes. Not sure on the unit, but at basic and AIT, they had giant paintings of unit patches and it was on there.

That's neat. Do they have those for each base or is it just one?

I remember one of them had an airborne patch, or at least it had the "airborne" lettering arching over the patch. The patch itself looked like a group of sticks tied together, but I can't recall it too good.

The patch on the bottomost right reminds me of the one of the 16th Military Police Brigade but with some extra stuff around.

That was a spider on the patch? It looked like a mountain to me, or at least part of it.

The first one is used for young soldiers while the second one is used for the old ones who chase you around.

Why did Rockstar reuse the same names for both patch sets?

Cheers.

Depicting rampant nepotism at the base? Or maybe the artist didn't know how they would be used.

What's weird is even though they're all part of the Army, some of them shout stuff relating to the US Marines ("I'm a f**king Marine", "Semper Fi", etc).

I'm still disappointed that the soldiers in Zancudo don't wear that awesome combat gear that they wear in the Paleto Score...

I have modified your post for ease of reference,

Point 1: It is all part of Rockstars inconsistency with this game (perhap a by-product of being too long in development). As an easier example, look at the difference with the Sheriff Cruiser and Sheriff Granger, the former is all white whilst the latter is black and white.

Point 2: I believe the soldiers that appear at the Paleto Score are different models then that appear inside of Fort Zancudo.

What are your thoughts?

Cheers.

^ I'm almost positive the soldiers during the Paleto Score are the same as the ones in Fort Zancudo. I don't have much of a good chance to look at their patches, though.

But yeah, it's odd seeing as the soldiers at Fort Zancudo yell out Marine slang even though they're part of the Army. Speaking of, do Army bases have runways and fighter jets? Or is that only Air Force bases? Heebie Jeebies.

^ It looks about the same as the 1st Cavalry patch without the stars

Go replay or watch The Paleto Score, have a brief look at the soldiers, then go to Fort Zancudo, the difference is way too easy to notice.

I was going from my past playthroughs and they look pretty similar. Same clothing, camouflage, etc.

Officer Ronson

Actually the soldiers who show up at the Paleto Score are also in the base, but they're only inside the patrolling tanks. Plus there are around 4 to 6 different soldier models including a mechanic who is internally known as Armymech.

Marines, Army

They're all the same thing tbh doesn't ruin my experience

Technically not. It's a game breaking experience if you're an armyphile

gamebreaking? Something like a glitch that makes you not shoot forever or pass a mission is gamebreaking, this is the type of thing to get over. Many FPS's have more military accuracy than GTA so if they want it they can go get it.

You're missing the emphasis on "armyphile"
