I found the Submersible!

So I got tossed out in the middle of nowhere after canceling an online mission, and looked to my left to see what looked like a jet-ski. I used the zoom function on my gun to look it more closely and was like: "THAT'S A SUBMARINE!!!" So I hop swam over, hopped in (which was no easy task as someone else apparently wanted either to kill me, or to use the sub for themselves) and almost died approaching crush depth!

 

I know you'll think "Um, yeah, bro, where've you been?!?! We found it decades ago!" But still, I thought it was cool and wanted to share...

And then they think you're cheating. Or they see you get away in it and they vote to kick (which is bleeping annoying - people abuse the kick function.)

My favorite thing to do when I get a bounty, is to hop into the sub and head to the airport... Inevitably people try and make a mission out of trying to kill me, pretty hilarious watching them dive down... so you ram into them and kill them... Or even better, they grab a helicopter, so you go off radar and power away from them, only to pop up to the surface, climb out and blow them up and hop back in, diving down to the ocean floor.

 

Seriously, one of the most under rated trolling vehicles in the game...

It's an experimental scubadave boat/submersible tank.

Clearly, it failed, and since experimental tanks have either been flying, or equipped with rapid-fire cannon, more powerful engines and NOS.

As well as invincibility of course.

I've had instances where I'm in the sub and have a $1K bounty on me and someone takes a boat and hovers over me and drops $20K+ worth of stickies and grenades trying to depth charge. Oops, waste o'money.

the submarine needs a radio. better way of controllimg it for the newbies and a clutch that comes out allowimg u to grab underwater containers. this can be done by clicking the analogue stick. R* needs to add more underwater missions. i guess ther saving that for heost

A submersible is a type of submarine. They're the same, really. I didn't know about the treasure...

Gtaocd, it's east of the commercial airport where the helicopter pad and merryweather soldiers are. There's 2 canals that go in large hangar the sub is in the east most canal all the way inside

That sounds pretty awesome. But yeah they should have skipped underwater and made the map a lot bigger. Or keep the map and add more interior to random buildings.

I think the water portion of the game is stunning. The problem is R* not focusing on it enough as the only real exploration required of it was probably in a few missions (when you steal the sub, there's one) and the nuclear waste. If R* could add a different sub and Lester could call the player with information about a sunken container with loot inside it could be worthwhile. A lot of players don't like the calmness of the sound of the engine whizzing and the sound of the deep sea but I love it.

 

OP, glad you found the sub! It's a blast and probably the best way to escape any bounty hunters/killers. I think the only way someone could kill you would be if the jet fired its machine guns deep enough to hit you or if a tank was dropped in the water and could shoot at you (I'm wondering if this could work...). There might be a hack to kill you while in a sub but you rarely run across hackers that need a bounty (or is desperate enough to kill a guy out in the middle of the ocean who's doing nothing). I've had a bounty hunter come after me while I was in the Merryweather dock area. Merryweather guards around start shooting him while I go off the radar, jump in the sub and whiz away. He comes in the building with the guards dead and I see his dot on the map going in circles. It's a slow thing so my timer ends up as I leave the harbor. He jumps in his car and drives at the far end of the dock and starts shooting the sub so I go down. Enjoying my drive when I see him arrive with a Buzzard (he fired a few rockets and hovered above me so I knew) but I was way past the point of being reached. I was teethering on the point of crushing depth. He sent me text messages, "bitch" and "hiding like a noob". I just drove around the map, quite enjoying myself and he's just flying about to get the little $7,000 I had on me. This was right after the money swipe we had months ago so I'm guessing people were poor enough to go after bounties.
