Things GTA IV did better than GTA V

I find that one thing that IV did better than V,, is boosting cars compared to buying overpriced cars etc. More fun with the fuzz after you, with doing the car missions for Stevie or not.

To be honest I wish we could buy cars off Autoerotica. Even though it's just as easy to steal something it adds a bit of a personal touch to be able to buy your own ride IMO.

In saying that now you mention it Stevie's vehicles and even the ones for Brucie are far more fun to participate in than the joke of a list the Epsilon Program gives Michael which I guess goes back to this point you can actually just buy the cars instead of stealing them.

The map in IV feels more complete compared to Los Santos and Blaine County.

You forgot one:

R* still uses the outdated and nonexistent GFWL for the PC version and refuses to let it go like a mentally-damaged hoarder.

Yes, I know I said the same thing, but I hope people get the picture of this. The console version is great, the PC version? Hardly.

the xbox* version is great

the ps3 version barely got 20fps with the equivalent of the PC's medium/low settings

Umm... what? I don't understand your post. And you basically skipped my previous post, too, so you might wanna check again before starting an unnecessary console war that pretty much no one cares about.

Definitely miss Friendly fire and Cops being turned off. Problem with that now is the free mode missions supposely require cops otherwise it would be "too easy" to earn money.

Except the PC version isn't any better, especially when R* is still using the GFWL, which has been long dead and outdated.

With CryENB, the PC version of IV looks almost a good as GTA V on a PC at 60 frames per second.

tbh the PC port is not good, but the PC version of IV will always be better than the 360 version, because at least you are capable of achieving 60 fps in the first place, if you are lucky.

Secret to good frames on PC is turn down draw distance. I have most everything else on high and average 45-50 frames (same I get for GTA5). Only in some areas does it go to 35-40... Unless I get dancing tugboat... then I get 2 frames.

The characters in all 3 IV stories were just soo amazing because of how deep they were. Even the villains made me like them slightly throughout the story.

Which is not something I can say about V at all. Hell V doesn't even have that many memorable Villains to be honest. David Weston, Steve Haines and who else? The Yoga instructor? meh. IV on the other hand has Vlad, Pegorino, Mikhail, and Dimiri.

Even Billy and Brian are better villains than anyone on GTA V if you ask me.

Rockstar seemed to just want to make everything so simple and humorous in GTA V rather than really trying like they did on this game and that's what ruined the game for me. Trevor is the worst and I'd have rather played as Packie over him.

Franklin is alright. Has some respectable qualities to him but I find him inconsistent. Michael? Well he's really the only character I like in V. I like his passion for old movies and root for him to get to live his dream as a director, but the problem with him for me is his lack of emotion as i was saying earlier. He has some what of a good heart like trying to do right by his family and friends but something is missing that made Niko feel that much more special.

Funny thing, I still remember what Dimitri told Niko if you picked Revenge on the second to last mission of IV, can't really remember about any of the antagonists of V.

That can be applied to just about every character. Funnily enough the most memorable characters tend to be the GTA IV/EFLC cameos.

Amount of details on vehicles. A good deal of vehicles added in GTA V lacks some details like model badges. They look like plastic toys TBH.

Im surprissed no one has mentioned that Weapons in GTA IV felt more visceral when using them. Examples are the pump shotgun and both rifles. Bullet impacts on peds felt the way they should be. Balanced gunplay as it best. For me on GTA V weapons felt more like Nerfed guns. Like bullets were made of air. Shooting at enemies felt like you were shooting sponges. Just awful. No balance at all.

This has been discussed several times, even on V threads. From what I've seen on previous threads, most people on here agree that IV had much better gunshot sounds and effects than V.

I've never fired a gun in real life before, but atleast in GTA IV they feel like they have power. The AK47 in particular is one of my favourite guns in the whole series because with the zoomed in view it feels like it would do some serious damage.

Also it's the proper Russian one. Not the Chinese knock off like in GTA V.

The blood is better too. You shoot someone in the head and it sprays on the wall lol. Too bad V has that ketchup smudge used as blood.

Stevies missions make you feel like a real car thief.

its fun trying to find the car with a general location and picture, then stealing it out of somebodies driveway...very Gone In 60 Seconds feel to it.

Just seen this.

You can fix this with a simple mod that allows you to buy cars from all car dealerships on the map, Autoeroticar included.

you don't need any 3rd party graphical enhancement. GTAIV is so good, that it has everything you need, in the timecyc
