Things GTA IV did better than GTA V

It hardly renders the PC version unplayable. There's a thing called XLiveless, and the Bulletspread Fix (mandatory for proper gunplay).

Well, let's not forget on how limited players' outfits are, which are purely pre-made. Even outfits in GTA IV single player felt limited as well.

In IV there´s only jokes about being the janitor and having to mop the floor. In V you ARE the janitor mopping the floor.

I actually lol'd at this. Very true

GTA 4 lets you keep the engine running (and hear the music playing from the car) after you leave the car or turn it off. In GTA 5 you can't do that. Engine turns off unless you bail out of the car.

Proper crouch in GTA 4

I can't believe the mission actually tells you when the mop's dirty then you have to clean it again. Then again stupid mission objectives and GTA V go hand in hand.:p

God is the melee so much better. You actually ran the risk of an assbeating if your double teamed. In five all you need is three punches and there down. In this game it actually takes some skill.

I remember actually running, scared when 4 Hispanics with knives ran after me for beating an old lady.

Not sure if someone has mentioned this, but I liked the fail cutscenes, calls and the outrage that the protagonists had after failing. I know it's a very minor thing but I loved it. I actually didn't know about it till only a few months ago, and after that I binge watched all possibility videos by Whatever57010 on Youtube. They're all so much fun, and I never realized that Rockstar had done so much hard work on such minor stuff.

I find the lack of fail phone calls in GTA V disturbing.

Hello. I just an account so I want to say Wausau I liked about GTA IV. that's why I came her. Okay.

1) Finishing missions felt rewarding.

2) Tragic ending and repercussions

3) Ever try following the streets and rules? Try it.

4) Every radio station feels and sounds right.

5) It feels like a horror movie in Algonquin if its night and you are dying a chopper

6) And of course... The dark atmosphere geez.

THE STORY IS PENOMENOL

I have a question...

On a front wheel drive car, does holding the handbrake down while putting down full throttle cause a burnout in IV?

I tried this on multiple FWD cars in GTA V and it cut the power, and locked the rear wheels...which was unrealistic.

Nope. In FWD Cars the Rear Wheels will lock whilst the Front Wheels will spin.

Whelp, yesterday I bought GTA IV and even though that handbrake trick doesn't work in either games, I love the driving in this game. The handbrake turns are like automotive nirvana, especially if you do it in a Dukes. I like to just launch the car into a big, wide turn to watch it lean. It's amusing.

But then...one day I was barreling down the road in a black Dukes I just stole. Car randomly hits another, I hit a sidewalk curb, the car ricochets back, suddenly I find myself in a 10 mph collision with a cop car and a few civillians (in their own cars). There was cops in the cop car, by the way.

"NO DON'T SHOOT ME!"

"wait..."

"...they just blipped the sirens? No uneeded police brutality like in V...?"

"....I love this game."

Crouching in GTA IV helps provide cover and improves accuracy. Besides a couple of missions, stealth in GTA V is completely useless. All it does is have you move slower. I don't get how Rockstar has GTA V as their "biggest" game yet, but they don't even have crouching, something so simple.

You know what else pisses me off. Kind of off-topic since it's not in IV but the fact that V doesn't have shoulder swapping. FFS, Red Dead had it and it worked perfectly. Simple sh*t like that should have been included.

Everything. Simple as that.

Everyone says that if you stand

Next to someone in Gta5 then they

Will call the cops and in gta 4 nothing happens and that is one of

The reasons gta 4 did better than gta 5 but if you think

About it, it is more realistic if you stand next to someone

In real life and Listen to there conversations and stuff

Then don't you think that they would probably call the cops on you in real life

Gta 4 is my favorite game I was just saying what rockstar was trying to do

No, it was better in IV and previous GTAs. I don't give a f*ck if it's more realistic, I like listening to peds talk and I like following cops and sh*t too and not have to worry about getting shot or getting a wanted level. It's a game FFS.

Yeah gta 4 does have a lot better features

And Nico is number 1

Not to mention that they got rid of crouching instead they created sneak mode

plus they got rid of pushing the guns fell a lot better and it is a lot

Harder and a ton of other stuff

ummmmmm did I kill this topic with my claim earlier?????

It just seems like everything from GTA 4 is better except the weather and the characters of 5. Also the Gold Medal things.. Can those be done away with forever already?

From the minor things like phone calls actually working to a story flow that isn't severely rushed 4 just seems to be a bit better. Even the weasel news reports in GTA4 are better then 5.

Having fun with the Police.

I mean, you can climb an Advertising Billboard, position yourself in a way that when the Officers try to Arrest you, they fall off, plummeting to their Deaths.

You can't do that in V. :(

You can't do that in V. :(

And if you shoot an Officer from a vantage point, where they cannot see one, you will only get two stars, and if they find you, they will try to arrest.

This is probably due to the fact the player is in cover and not visible, police search in a proper way and you're technically not an "active shooter" so to speak, since they do not know where the shot came from, thus rendering their knowledge about ones crime very low and uncertain.

Well, that was one helluva ramble.

The Time Ranger

More interiors, the stairwells in apartment buildings may have been basic but they were there, it helps immerse the player, makes the world more believeable, also provides an alternative to having to use a helicopter to reach roofs, granted having a stairwell on every building wouldn't work, but a few would have been nice in V.

For example in IV the autoeroticar dealership is used in a mission, the name of which I can't recall, after the mission you can still go there, cars are there, it feels like a business, it would have been cool in V if you could break through Simeon's car dealership outside of that one mission and have cars there to take, would add to the immersion instead of it being just this wasted space.

V = online oriented = no solo everyday realistic activities = soon or later boredom

IV = solo and modding oriented = perpetually changing game = endless gaming experience & fun

With IV (and all the GTA games before) I never had the feeling that I need mods. With V I have the feeling that mods would be a good thing to get more out of its potential.

I always felt like I was at home when playing 4. In 5, I feel like the world is trapped in a cardboard box
