Things GTA IV did better than GTA V

I've probably said this before, but I don't feel like going through 50+ pages, so:

IV had better shooting. Whenever I'm shooting in V, it feels like I'm controlling a toy gun.

No way, the gun fighthing in GTA V is way superior than IV. The unarmed combat in IV is superior, this is.

How is V's gun fighting superior to IV's? I got turned off by the low bullet spread weapons that remain pin point accurate while going full auto.

The Aim in V is superior, the cover system works way better in V and the character moves more fluid too.

Fluid? In GTA IV, when I was a bit away from a possible place I can take cover and I press the 'take cover' button, he'd either slide towards the area or do some kind of roll towards it.

In V, he just runs fast towards the cover, like someone pushed him from behind or something, not fluid imo. But well, GTA V is a half baked product, I'd be an idiot to expect anything better.

I can't really say more than what has already been said about the driving in IV, but I will say that I really appreciate the fact that the cars feel like cars. To contrast, most of the cars in V feel underwhelming and lifeless. imo

Online was never laggy. the story mode was better and realistic and the missions were always fun. The first part of V is good but near the end is quite sh*t, if anything the GTA IV later missions were the best. I also didn't like the fact that the characters in V don't do jobs for organisations, I enjoyed doing jobs in IV with the Lost MC and the Liberty City and Pegorino crime families. The IV driving was more realistic than V, the cars in GTA V remind me of arcade game driving with no skill. The random characters were more enjoyable. In IV the internet was larger and you could find more websites and also go on dates through the internet which was a good additional

GTA V is a good game but doesn't beat IV imo

The cover system in IV is sh*t. V's is better as it's more similar to Max Payne 3.

OT: Gang/Drug wars in EFLC. I still don't understand why V doesn't have activities like this. The closest is Arms Trafficking. It would fit with Trevor's story.

In GTA4 Cops will arrest anyone who tried to attack you. But in GTA5 cops will KILL anyone who attacks you. Does this mean cops in West Coast are more aggressive than East Coast cops?

You're entitled to your opinions. I'd take IV's cover system over V's anyday.

No, it means that C* were lazy when they programmed this crap and didn't mean to impress anyone with it's mechanics or other little details that make a game very good.

I used to wonder whether a 9 year old was the head of the team that designed the random encounters.

I agree. Most of the supercars feel the same. In IV, they felt much more original.

Rockstar is way ahead of anyone else, they have made several great innovations in the automotive field, and I sincerely hope they get a Nobel for their research.

I personally like the way you can change the filter in both three games. Especially in TLaD, man it's even harder to drive in dark places with no contrast and saturation, but with only brightness in order to make things darker, harder and to feel the city's other side. It's really amazing.

However, I tried that in V, but I quickly became frustraded since you can only change brightness but that's so lame that I prefer with full brightness anyway.

And

I do agree with Webby. V is the only GTA that I feel didn't follow a traditional storyline IE: starting from the bottom and clawing your way up.

You never knew where you sat in the criminal underworld, you were just the FIB and Devin Weston's b**** until the day they decided to wake up and "fix" their problems..

Perhaps he´s referring to the Sisters of Mercy song on LRR?

Anyway, the title should be changed into "Things GTA IV did better than 'The One and Only Real Snore, formerly known as GTA V'". :p

Haha.. the maker of iCEnhancer himself feels that V is boring compared to IV. He prefers IV over V, because IV seems more alive.

When big modders like him feel that V is boring, you know sh*t just got serious.

*waiting for butthurt replies from V fanboys...*

I definitely love the interiors in Grand Theft Auto IV. Grand Theft Auto V doesn't have much accessible interiors while Grand Theft Auto IV has tons of interiors which are open, including the Majestic Hotel and the restaurants.

Antagonists (although they f*cked up Bulgarin in TBoGT). Even minor antagonists like Vlad, Brian or Timur blow clowns like Devin Weston out of the water. They are so well developed, you can´t wait to finally introduce them to a bullet. Weston is just an annoying douchebag and nothing more. Not exactly what I´m expecting from a good antagonist.

Yeah, the antagonists are deeper and more well developed.

It's nice not dying instantly, having your car blow up all the time or having your heli blow up the moment it touches something. It's nice not having to play the game as a cover based shooter that often doesn't give you enough cover or surrounds you with enemies too quickly and forces you out of cover and into the polices crazy accurate line of fire. V can be really fun but often the moment you really start to get in the groove of things, some bullsh*t kills you or takes you completely out of it. Like when you climb Mt. Chilliad and literally out of nowhere a mountain lion appears and kills you before you even have a chance to react. Like why the f*ck does it do that much damage to me or why don't I get a chance to get back up? Maybe it's realistic to be killed like that from one but sure as f*ck isn't fun. V is just chocked full of sh*t like that. Hell sometimes head on collisions kill you. It's like hey I know you are on this 5 start manhunt (the new star system is also a load of crap) but if you hit something wrong while on that bike, you aren't going fly off and then try to run away, you are going to die instantly. That or be killed on the ground while you take an hour to stand up.

And that's why I'll never understand GTA V's commercial success. It's a terribly designed mess. How the hell do people like it? San Andreas does everything better.

Game: Trying to have fun? f*ck YOU! Trying to enjoy the scenery! f*ck YOU!

Parking spots that actually work, I mean we wanted proper garages in V and big ones so you can store like four or five vehicles and what do they give us? ONE damn parking space I mean c'mon. Just another reason to like IV even more.

maxresdefault.jpgShocking characters. I also find quite interesting that Niko is surprised about the murdered kid, when he said to Roman to have witnessed 50 children in front of a church with the throats wide open back in the Old Conutry, he still got a heart I guess.

Misunderstood

sh*t, you know what I miss from IV. The ability to knock off your helicopter tail and start spinning about with no control above Liberty City. That sh*t was hilarious. Now it's been replaced by your helicopter just exploding. GG Rockstar, no fun.

Fortunately mods fix a lot of V's shortcomings. Handling, gunplay, ragdoll, wanted system, you name it and there's a mod for. This however indicates that Rockstar did a poor job at certain game aspects if you require modders to make the game actually enjoyable. I didn't feel the need to install these kind of mods in IV on the other hand (if there were any to begin with).

All IV ever needed on PC was the Bulletspread Fix (R* f*cked up the PC version of IV by releasing it with broken shooting mechanics AKA no spread weapons)

V on the other hand...
