Things GTA IV did better than GTA V

I've probably said this before, but I don't feel like going through 50+ pages, so:

 

IV had better shooting. Whenever I'm shooting in V, it feels like I'm controlling a toy gun.

There's this feeling in GTA IV where it's like you can feel the bullets ripping through enemies. The guns have recoil too which feels absent in GTA V.

 

Best way to prove this: try to shoot somebody with a shotgun in IV, then do the same in V.

Shotguns in both games are sh*t tbh, aside from the DLC ones.

 

IV and it's DLC's have those "endless" crime style activities (Vigilante/Gang/Drug Wars), V only has Arms Trafficking, which is cool but not as fun to do on a repeat basis. I was dissapointed how V only had four Bounty Hunting missions, considering they're essentially the replacement of Vigilante/Most Wanted, and IV had 30 Most Wanted missions and endless vigilante missions. I'd trade Taxi missions for Vigilante in V any day.

V has Taxi missions? Wow, I have GTA 5 for almost a year now and haven't noticed it yet.

 

Since, all people in LS are anorexic twigs who can live without food for infinity, I thought little details like taxi missions would be skipped.

No way, the gun fighthing in GTA V is way superior than IV. The unarmed combat in IV is superior, this is.

How is V's gun fighting superior to IV's? I got turned off by the low bullet spread weapons that remain pin point accurate while going full auto.

The Aim in V is superior, the cover system works way better in V and the character moves more fluid too.

The weapon sounds, the impact you feel bullets make and the general atmosphere makes IV's gunfights a lot more thrilling than V's imo. The aim is much the same between IV and V, the cover system and movements are better though, I'll give you that. But the lack of recoil and general punch of weapons in V make gunfights lackluster.

I don't consider aiming, cover systems or character movement actual parts on gunplay.

Besides, in IV you didn't need a cover system because you could simply crouch wherever you wanted, or stand behind a wall. The cover system was supposed to be used for blind firing and throwing grenades/molotovs.

I miss the destructive power of TLaD's Street Sweeper and TBoGT's Auto Shotgun. Turning cars into bullet-riddled strainers with one or into malformed boxes of scrap with the other was pure video game catharsis. I honestly want those two back, in their former glory, more than the flamethrower or the chainsaw or other more popular weapons that we haven't got back since 3D Era ended.

 

And shooting the Sawn off on a bike was so much more satisfying too. Perhaps it has to do, again as with everything else, with Euphoria, sound and other effects, but it just doesn't feel like the hammer it used to be. To be fair though, I didn't even expect the feature to come back, so better something than nothing, I guess.

The soundtrack by a long shot. It might repeat after 2 hours but idc, it always sounds great. If I don't like what's on the Vibe, I turn on the Beat. Nothing good on the Beat? I go to Tuff Gong and hope 'Stand Up Jamrock' is on. Endless classics on GTA IV.

 

The only good notable song that's good for cruising on GTA V is 'Always' by Panama.
