Like with Tommy Vercetti, it's a good idea to leave the 3D Era in the 3D Era. You don't have to erase her, just replace her with a similar character, but remove all evidence of her as a returning character.

Overall, it's decent. There seems to be a few kinks here and there, but as you get the story more fleshed out and ready for completion, I'm sure you can figure it all out.

Edit: Yeah, baby! Page 50!

Cool, I'll think about the Mary Beth thing.

What kinks though may I ask?, storyline or other kinds?

I'm talking about more of the "finer" details. Once you start writing missions, you should be able to iron some things out. Make them more realistic in terms of GTA-gameplay.

Update: I am thinking about changing the name of Little Haiti to Little Soleil (reference to Cite Soleil in Haiti) and adding a town either as Vinewood or Vicewood as a reference to Hollywood, Florida.

Some Neighborhood/Island Ideas:

Vice Beach (Neighborhoods: Goldman International Airport, Fort Guantanamo, North Vice Beach, Inlet Park, Native Creek, South Vice Beach, Playa Pueblo),
Prawn Island (Neighborhoods: Prawn Bay, Prawn Estates)
Vice City (Neighborhoods: Vicewood Beach, Vicewood, Downtown, Vice Gardens, Little Soleil, Little Vedado, Wood Crown, Vice Port)

Hey. I made a little bit of progress on Gray Valley. I finally finished the updated HUD and it looks great, at least by my terms. It came out about as well as I thought it would, which is fine by me. I'm certainly no Matisse when it comes to GFX and the sorts, but it's at least better than the previous one. You can check it out under "Gameplay" in Gray Valley.

I never liked how a handful of neighborhoods in the 3D Era held the same name as their counterparts. If you're going to change Little Haiti, I'd also change Little Havana for consistency. In fact, you could probably just change Little Havana to Little Cuba.

Ok Thanks for the advice, any idea if I should choose either Vinewood or Vicewood

Game Update: I'm changing Little Havana to Little Vedado (a neighborhood in Havanna, Cuba. which has a "gay scene" which goes well with the DJ of the Classic Latin Jazz station...off to rename the station lol)

Just posted 'Grand Theft Auto: Motor City'. Only added the synopsis and a couple of radio stations, but feel free to check it out and leave a nice little comment. And again, I might be overthinking this but I kind of want to have it in a modern setting but still..

Arrghh. Much decision, very hard. In the end it's really about the radio stations. With Britain '79 I was so f*cking pissed over looking for tracks before 1979 and I feel like it's going to be the same with 2005. Also, if the setting is 2005 , I can't have ANY apollo brown or newer MI artists.

Edit: Ah, f*ck it. I'll make this one modern era. Might do a dlc with 2005 though..

Damn, i'm stil working in my concept?

It has been a almost a year since i joined and still haven't finished it, maybe i was too ambitious, if it was only one city, it would have been already finished.

Embarrasing, gotta do something about this.

Don't be so hard on yourself for being a lazy bum who has a life outside of the internet.

Look at Gray Valley, for example. It's been over a year and there are a ton of things that still aren't done that you're opting to complete before you post your concept. I still have no radio stations, a map, and a vehicles list, which I'm currently getting help on. All of those things you're actually doing, while I'm saying that I should do those. Sometime. Eventually. Maybe later.

It's mostly preference, really. However, you can't just do that if you're concept is a period piece. You'd need a lot more new vehicles, and you might even want to change the make and model of some to fit the era better.

If you're content with what you're doing, then continuing doing it.

An update

Setting:

Vice City in the year 2015, a diverse culture that helped take down the drugs and crime of the 80s and 90s. Thanks to activists the war between Cubans and Haitians was settled and because of that the cops focus more on stopping gangs and the selling of guns. After the arrest of crime lord Marco Mongotti, Vice City officials and politicians blamed every organize crime in Vice City on him thus stopping any further investigation on businesses and corporations, which were the only gangs left in Vice City.

Story:

Intro Arc:

Middle aged trust fund baby Dick Wexler uses his rich father's money to buy businesses but has no idea how to run them and they fail. When one business goes under in a mysterious fire, killing several people, an investigation is conducted and the police say that Dick started the fire and is also responsible for illegal money transactions. After an intense police chase, Dick escapes from the cops and tries to call his father for money but is denied. Dick then calls home but finds his brother, Duncan, answering Dick's wife's, Linda, phone and makes references to the and having an affair with Alice With his car destroyed by the police chase and down on his luck, Dick tries to steal a fancy car but after being chased by the owner's friends along with his low driving skill, Dick crashes and destroys the car. Needing protection Dick decides to get a gun so he tries to steal a gun from illegal gun seller/arms dealer and crazy survivalist, Darlene Johnston but she tries to kill him. During her attack she rants about how hard selling guns in Vice City is because of the damn watchdog policemen, hearing this. Dick makes her a deal with her, that he'll help her sell guns and get the police off their backs if she'll give him some guns, a list of other gun/armor sellers in Vice City, who Dick will call in for some favors for protection and taking care of things, and a percentage of the profits of her sales which she agrees to. Needing a distraction Dick remember the days of his forefathers and how they made their money, by starting wars, selling drugs and taking advantage anyone who can be, he decides to cause problems for the police in Vice City and turn Vice City back into the 80s. Meanwhile Alice and Duncan have bribed Police Chief Joseph Diaz to have a police task force hunt down Dick no matter what gets in their way and makes things difficult for Dick's operations. Dick meets Darlene's boyfriend Luke, a dim witted truck driver, and decides to use Luke and his job in his schemes.

Streets Arc:

Seeing a Cuban and a Haitian get into a violent argument, in Little Vedado, Dick gets an idea of restarting the gang war between the Cubans and the Haitians which will sell guns and distract city officials. Dick first decides to dress up as a Haitian and assassinate Victor Grau, a social activist who helped stopped the gang wars and is still currently helping stop street violence, thus not only making Cubans angry but also stopping an important person from stopping the street violence and creating peace. With the Cubans furious, Dick then does a drive-by on some young Haitian gang members to make the Haitians creating tension both groups and making them blame each other for the deaths on both sides. With each side ready to kill, Dick and Darlene take advantage of the situation and sell guns to both gangs but with great difficulty thanks to Diaz and his men. Making a deal with a Haitian gang Je (eye) Force. a notorious gang known for drug trafficking, boat stealing, and racketeering, Dick sells them guns but after some time Je Force's leader, Jude Patris, decides to try and take all of Dick and Darlene's profits and merchandise. While Dick is dealing with the coummunities the Cyr family, a family of criminals, try to take advantage and make a profit for themselves and get in Dick's way..

Beach Arc:

Because of the intense violence, in both Little Vedado and Little Haiti, and the police on their trail, Dick and Darlene travels across to South Vice Beach and sees Dick's youngest son Kevin. Seeing his son meet with his drug dealer, Gran Tiro (Big Shot), Dick gets the idea of going into drug dealing/trafficking and try to come up with a new Crack epidemic. Meeting the Vice Beach Bums (VB2), a nonviolent gang of slackers who make and sell drugs, Dick persuades them into selling their new drug, Beach Frost (Brost) which mixes the effects of Heroin and brain-freeze, all over Vice City. Dick focuses his drug sell on a small community called Playa Pueblo (Beach Village), which is the home of Gran Tiro, and uses Kevin's stoner friends and Gran Tiro, along with corrupt police officer Seth Cray, to sell Brost and causes the community to destroy itself. Finding out that he unwillingly helped destroy his own home Gran Tiro decides to rally some thugs, calling themselves the Playa Pueblo Predators (P3), to hunt Dick and kill him. After a shootout with the Predators at North Point Mall in North Vice Beach, Diaz chases Dick down to South Point Mall, just below Little Vedado, and causes another shootout causing problems with the FIB. Pinning evidence of the mysterious fire and the recent arms & drug dealing on Diaz, along with his unfriendly reputation, Diaz is blamed for the crimes and is arrested by the Vice Squad. Trying to make Brost more mainstream Dick tries to get clubs to let the drug be sold near their club. Dick tries to get the biggest club in Vice City, Club Manor, to sell Brost but is denied by the owner Big Baron and enforced by his gang the Royal Ass Posse. Dick decides to take them out and take over their dealings.

Downtown Arc:

With Diaz being blame for Dick's crimes and off his trail and Dick's name being cleared, Dick decides to use his earnings to make more by going into business and buying businesses. When Dick goes to Downtown Vice City he meets his son Dick Jr., an investor and modern yuppie, who has several investments his father could take advantage of. One/Some of the investments is with [insert rapper from Radio Vice], who is performing at a concert in Vice City, actor Bruce Spade and his production company SpaceJoints, Vice City Online University, Vice City army in Fort Guantanamo, Vice Bank. When Dick Jr. tries to buy out members of infamous biker gang, the Highway Demons, the bikers go after Dick and his business associates

Movies:

Knife After Dark: A darker, edgier, and more complex remake of the 1980s slasher flick about a teenager who goes on a killing spree.

YOLO: A romantic drama about a middle aged woman travelling around the world learining to live life to the fullest and to love again.

Funny Bitches - Stoner comedy about a group of friends and their talking sex toys.

5th Speed: The fifth movie in the Speed Maniacs franchise where a group of racers race each other while stopping crimes.

I've finally written my hump mission for my Carcer concept! Such a relief to get through it after about a months worth of rewrites.

So far we're seven missions in and we've secured a heroin connection, helped rob a bank on Carcer City outskirts, extorted a small time garage for protection money and most recently; committed the largest theft Carcer City has seen since Black Mack Dolan's crew hit the Gruppe Sech's depot in the seventies!

Anyway expect a concept thread to come to fruition in the near future; I'm not really keen on the poncey art and graphics and I've hardly settled on a bloody concept name either, so yeah if you see it happen by Halloween count yourselves lucky!

I'm wondering about some GTA concepts and I am wondering if anyone has done a Southern city other than Vice City? I always thought a GTA game set in a city similar to New Orleans would be interesting, whether as a period piece or a modern setting.

Speaking of period pieces, I have some ideas for period pieces but I am unsure if I should go with any of them. The times and places, as well as themes, are as follows....

Liberty City (or alternately, Carcer City), 1925: A Prohibition-era GTA focusing on the early bootlegging days of the Italian Mafia and Irish Mob. Protagonist could be a GTA version of Al Capone (if Carcer City) or an ancestor of the McReary Family fresh off the boat from Ireland (if Liberty City).

Liberty State and Alderney, 1955-1964: An epic mafia-themed GTA focusing on the life and times of a young Jon Gravelli establishing himself in Liberty City's underworld. We could even see appearances and recieve missions from Sonny Cangelosi and Carlo Gambetti (founder of the Gambetti Family), or even hang out with adolescent versions of Jimmy Pegorino, Roy Zito, and Sammy Bottino, who would appear as supporting NPC's. Timeline would be Autumn 1955 to Summer 1964

State of San Andreas, 1979: A biker-themed GTA about the history of the Angels of Death MC and their rivals. Would feature Los Santos, San Fierro, Blaine County, other parts of San Andreas, and even out-of-state areas like Las Venturas.

The rest of these ideas are set in the present day but in foreign locations.

London-It's the only GTA city not yet seen in either 3D or HD, and it's a large and diverse area with lots of potential. No idea about plot or protagonist though.

The Far East (Tokyo and Hong Kong)-Inspired heavily by the anime series Black Lagoon as well as other anime, martial arts, and Asian gangster films, this stylized and action-packed GTA would feature two cities (which can be traversed by plane or ship) and have multiple protagonists including a yakuza hitman, a vengeful female vigilante, and an undercover IAA agent.

This is Mafia's territory, really. However, it would be cool to see a Sopranos-styled story in Alderney.

This has been discussed multiple times before, but hasn't been touched upon in concepts in too much depth. I'd like to see a full-blown concept with this theme.

Why not? I'd do it just to have Rick Astley in it.

Sleeping Dogs, anyone? At this point, anything in that area with characters like that would be heavily compared to Sleeping Dogs.

Just my two cents.

True, the Far East and Prohibition concepts probably would be too close to Mafia and Sleeping Dogs in terms of comparison, so I might just do the 70's Biker concept and maybe a Sopranos-styled concept about either the Ancelottis or the Pegorino Family set in the late 90's or early-to-mid-2000's with Liberty City and an expanded map of Alderney with rural areas similar to the real-life New Jersey (with the assumption that the Alderney area featured in IV was just North Alderney, equivalent to Newark, Hoboken, Jersey City, and other parts of North Jersey adjacent to NYC).

UPDATE-I have decided to go forward with this Sopranos-inspired concept under the working title of Grand Theft Auto VI: Alderney Boys set mainly in the entire state of Alderney as well as the cities of Liberty City (New York City) and Thessalonica (Philadelphia). The concept is set from 2000 to 2007, and will feature changing seasons (and seasonal weather and clothing to match), and there will be one protagonist, a young man named Matt Ferrante, a meager pizza delivery man who enters the mafia life of the Pegorino Family following the grisly murder of his father. Matt turns to his grandfather, Dominic Ferrante, a bookie connected to the Pegorinos for help in uncovering his father's killer and along the way, he is sucked into this life of crime, becoming enamored with the romanticized and glamorized image of La Cosa Nostra, but also having to confront the dark realities of such a lifestyle.

The concept starts out as a revenge story but becomes more like Goodfellas and The Sopranos as the plot progresses along.

Hey guys, I ran into a problem. I was just about to post that Liberty City Expansion concept that I've teased forever, but it won't let me post images at all. Apparently, it says "You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community". I was trying to post a cool logo, and then when I tried go without it it still didn't work. I don't get it, I was able to post those images before, but did images suddenly get banned or something? Nothing I do is working. This is extremely frustrating, because I was just one step away from finally posting my concept. If anyone has anything useful, it would be appreciated.

Which image host did you use for uploading your logo?

.jpg, then I tried to convert it to .png and it still didn't work. I was able to upload .jpg on here before, which I used for my character pictures when demonstrating, but now they aren't allowed for some reason now. I don't get it.

Oh that, I was using Fotoflexer and Tinypic to make the size more manageable. I'm pretty sure I've used those website before to post images here, unless I'm mistaken. But even when I didn't use those websites it didn't work.

Test.

I need some feedback on an idea I had.

In Gray Valley, you have a "gang fear factor", if you will. There are five levels of being feared, five levels of not being feared, and a neutral level. I'm still on the edge about this. I'm still having thoughts about a "gang relationship" system. You know, if you attack people, they hate you; if you don't attack, they like you, etc. Feedback about those two would be nice.

Onto the main event, though. I was thinking of including special outfits to help boost your fearfulness and the sort. For example, if you wear the "Midway Mobster" outfit, you're more feared. Thoughts?

... Forgive me for the lack of pictures, because well, you know.

You are too lazy to create an IMGUR account?

I get it.

I like it, are you planning to include choices of work with/against the local gangs or something?

I don't see why not, in my concept, blood will get the character dirty, and if peds or cops see you like this, then you are gonna get noticed, same for Chuck's prison outfit, all eyes will be on you, would be fun to really have this in a gta.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, i started doing some guns for my concept, they look good?
