It appears that Rockstar Games is already working on Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 6 and might be releasing the game earlier than expected.It can be remembered that GTA 5 released last year was only available for Xbox 360 and PS 3, and now that PS 4 and Xbox One are dominating the console realm, there is a big possibility that GTA 6 is coming very soon.Rockstar is known for taking their precious time before lodging content in the market, and their established reputation of delivering when it matters most.GTA 6 will ride into great waves of pressure as the fifth installment of the franchise did spectacularly well and has sold nearly $2 billion as reported by Forbes in May, and was hailed as the best-selling console video game in 2013 across the Americas and Europe.GTA "I'm not a Hipster" update was released last week, featuring funky retro outfits, skinny jeans, vintage hairstyles and animal masks.However, Rockstar extended their apologies to fans who have been eagerly waiting for the GTA Online Heist delays.

 

"We know many fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of the Online Heists that we had planned to release for you this spring, and they are taking more time to create than originally anticipated. We are very sorry for the delay, and are working hard to bring them to you as soon as we can."But unlike last year, today's video gaming competition is a lot tighter and companies are trying to get a piece of the pie that allowed GTA 5 to amass $800 million in sales in just 24 hours after release. One of the games laucnhed to combat GTA's dynasty is Ubisoft's Watch Dogs.Rockstar has banked on GTA Online as a big part of the entire GTA 5 experience and perhaps to help fill the gap ahead of the inevitable GTA 6.

If not Red Dead or something else, yes, they work on GTA 6 now. But I don't think it will be out early.

Rockstar don't throw a game out every year, hence we get the depth and content in the games we do now. There's the Agent game in the pipeline that I know little about, but I reckon we won't see another full GTA title till 2019 at the earliest, although expansions on V (like TBOGT) are a possiblity.

I think gta5 on the new consoles will be more like gta5.5 if that makes sense. A new episode is a totally different story, in using characters and time.

It's not going to be annual, but I bet we'll have a new GTA game by 2016. Seriously, how much tweaking do you think their engine needs? They've got what they wanted as far as the engine goes, now they just need to expand the universe.

 

How long do you think it'll take to map, write, cast and produce a new location and story? Definitely not 6 years.

 

Add the fact that GTA Online will be around for the next several iterations and run by a separate branch, there's more manpower to put toward new stories. No need to waste anymore time developing another online mode for the next game when they've got it already.

I think we'll get some expansion packs first, then maybe a new game after that. I can see room for some extra storylines around GTA V.

I'm sure they have started on GTA 6 but with a tiny team and i highly doubt it will be in full development or released for a while.

 

They will be working on DLC for GTA V which is desperately needs as the story was far too short and just seemed to be over before it begun, DLC for online maybe DLC thats more than clothes and cars once it hits next gen and other games that are in the pipeline.

 

Don't expect GTA 6 for a while I'd be looking at 2018 earliest why go for 6 when GTA V is still pulling in millions

Even if it does get released early, it's still not going to be for another 3-4 years. If they start releasing GTA games every year, the series will become stale.

Games like GTA are built to last, but with the PS4/One coming out, the game lost some of it's longevity as most people who own a PS3/360 will move on to new consoles in 2 years.

It made sense to release it on the new consoles, it'll keep people playing when they move on. The PS3 and 360 never really seemed to suit this game anyway. It's ruined somewhat by terrible rendering, draw distance and being no traffic on the road.

I have an idea for this finding.

 

GTA VI will use an existing city which will have HD treatment, and it will come with an SP storyline. The same city will be added to GTA Online and we will have two cities to use. Or something like that.

 

Before you say that GTA V took ages to make, Rockstar spent a lot of time on side projects like RDR and MP3. Rockstar have almost certainly already ported to next gen, so they could focus all efforts to a new game. I would expect a large content pack or two for GTA Online to keep us occupied during that time.

 

I have no problem waiting a bit longer. The 12 year olds on here will be screaming that they have to buy a new console to get the new content, but I don't mind. Anything that progresses the development of GTA Online is fine by me.

GTA 6 will come out in 2019! How do I know? GTA 5 came out 5 years after GTA 4 which was 2008, and that came out in 2013. GTA 6 will come out 6 years after GTA 5, so it will come out in 2019.
