Unwanted guns/customizable weapon wheel

I don't need all of my guns. I don't need any shotgun but the Auto Shotgun, any rifle but the Special Carbine, etc - you know which guns are best, you don't need me to tell you.

 

ANYWAY. I want to get rid of some. i hate having to scroll through weapons I never use while in a car, I hate have to switch from my pump shotgun to my auto shotgun every time I want to pull it out. It's not intuitive and it's a waste of time.

 

So, for those of you who also take issue with this, what could Rockstar do to fix it?

 

1. Add the ability to store weapons in your apartment

A gun safe added to the apartment could allow you to store weapons. When a weapon is stored, it is removed from your inventory. If you collect a gun that is stored while you're on a mission, you will only pick up the ammo, not the weapon.

 

2. Allow us to sell guns back to Ammunation for reduced value. Simply walk into Ammunation, and walk up to the new "We Buy Guns!" sign, press right on the D-Pad and you'll be given the option to select which of your weapons you want to sell back (with a second prompt asking if you're sure, of course).

 

3. Let us reorganize our weapon wheel AND add a weapon wheel while in-car.

Add a Start menu option to customize the weapon wheel. This menu will feature a graphic of the weapon wheel. You move the cursor to a segment of the wheel, then press right or left to scroll through the weapons in your inventory. You can place ANY weapon in ANY slot on the wheel. The downside is that that particular weapon category will be locked to that place on the wheel, however whichever weapon you choose WILL be your default weapon for that category - no more scrolling to get to the best gun in that class.

 

ALSO in addition to this, change the scrolling weapon selection to the weapon wheel while in-car. Scrolling through every weapon while in the middle of the car-gun battle is FRUSTRATING AS f*ck, so let us quickly select the weapon we want just the same as if we were on foot.

 

4. Let us permanently delete any gun

Sometimes simple is best - allow us to drop a gun and not add it back to our inventory again unless we PURCHASE IT from Ammunation. Personally, if Rockstar would only give us this, I would be OK - I'd prefer something more elaborate, but at this point I just want to ditch the guns I never use, whatever the cost.

Yeah sometimes its annoying when you just join a session and having to reorganize your weapon wheel maybe a weapon locker would be good or setting your weapon wheel to your choice of weapons.

For me the weapons always reappear the next time I start a new session or if I run over them during a mission.

If you wanna see a change, I suggest you take the best of your ideas and send it to rockstar. There's no chance of it being changed here.

Really don't see the need to have a pistol, combat pistol, heavy pistol, ap pistol, sns pistol and the vintage pistol at the same time especially when they share the same ammo. I would like to have one weapon per class.

I like the Max Payne 3 thing, say we only have 2 or 3 weapon to choose to take out, the rest of them are stored in our apartment.

i just refuse to drop guns i dont use.

Yep same. Would make combat way more fun, and a crew leader could actually assign roles to certain crew members.

 

Team deathmatches would be more fair and with a limited amount of ammo would make it even more fun.

 

Ps: Max Payne 3 had one of the best pvp combat system ever. Especially for third person.

I'd go for the Apartment Armory, it's a cool idea and would be really useful. Maybe that locked door in the high-end Apartments we can't enter could be the armory?

I think the best idea would to be able to buy the weapons for free from Amu-nation if you've previously purchased them. So you could get rid of the weapons you don't want and to be able to get them back for no charge if you change your mind. Kind of how gun attachments and colors work. And maybe an option to turn off weapon pick-ups so you don't have to worry about picking up pistols and shotguns from some police or something after they drop it but still get the ammo from the guns pickups.

If you drop any gun (except the first pistol) then it is out of your inventory. You only get it back if you buy it or accidentally pick one up. You do NOT keep it you only use it which is why the mission setup screen, often tricks people into spending $20k on ammo.

 

TLDR- Drop a gun, it's gone. Pick one up, drop it so you don't screw yourself.

Just bookmarking a weapon would be nice, so that it would appear on the wheel the way I want.

The wheel should save the weapons you last used in game instead of resetting every time you join.

This is only a temporary fix. Play a job or gang attack and watch all your unwanted guns return to your inventory. (If you walk over bodies)

The following gun's I drop at least twice every session.

Regular sniper, MG, Micro SMG, Carbine Rifle, AK47, Combat pistol and pump shotgun.

I agree, I don't like the weapon wheel setup at the moment, to me it kinda defeats the whole idea of quick select by having too many weapons to scroll through & it not remembering my defaults.

 

I'd like to see one weapon per slot only, storage space in apartments and weapon vehicles with a couple of slots in the boot/ trunk and the ability to sell picked up weapons back to Ammu-nation... If I had a GTA dollar for everytime I've dropped that damn pistol.

 

Hmmm... SMG, MG or Uzi, Auto shotty or sawn off, Grenade launcher or Mini-gun, Stickies or Grenades... I'd welcome those tough decisions.

I would love a secret arsenal / armory in my apartment to store spare weapons like the ones in Mr. & Mrs. Smith or Dead Man Down.

 

I like the weapon setup for the old XBox Game, the Punisher. Start off with a pistol and buy special holsters to enable extra weapons.

I would like to be able to drop the pistols (except the AP) plus various rifles, etc.

 

The magically reappearing pistol is annoying, although it is good for shooting the professional in the Felon in RR tho!

They should also make it so you can use the car's trunk to get weapons like in LA Noire.
