As you hit triangle to pull him out, hold the analog/d-pad in the direction away from the door. If you time it well, presto, you don't get in. I think i figured it out actually, i open the door, then as i pull them out i hold the dpad in the opposite direction, and i make a 180 motion up and down with it (or left and right, which ever is opposite from the car at the time, depending on the camera angle) i keep doing the 180 motion untill, they are full pulled out of the car.
