"the driver" mission

I can't complete the race in the Malibu Club mission called "the Driver"

Does anyone know how to win???

I tried popping his tyres or doing a drive-by but i can not Win!!!!!!!!!!

please Help!!!

alright, since no one else will...

 

Keep trying; 1 of 2 things will happen:

1) Your skills will improve & you'll eventually win;

2) He'll wipe out (this is how I won).

 

You can afford to be a little aggressive to help #2 along (that can be taken >1 way - I know)

I just got this one today and I used a trick mentioned here before.  Get the fastest car you can find (Hotring Racer is what I used) and park it just around the corner of the first turn by the cop shop.  run to the malibu to start the mission.  when the race starts drive to the other car and ditch the sentinal.  I beat him by miles with the Racer.

If you want to cheat:

Before you start the mission, go in front of the pizza place near the final bridge you cross in the race and use the Spawn A Trash master code - O, R1, O, R1, L, L, R1, L1, O, R

and block the bridge with about 3 trash trucks. Once you start the mission one of the trash trucks will disappear but it will still really mess him up once you get to that bridge.

 

I wouldn't recommend cheating until you've beat it fair and square because you're going to need the practice for later in the game. You're driving skills will improve and you will be able to beat this guy easily anytime.

So where did u get the Hot Ring Racer??

you get the Hotring when you complete sunshine autos i/e garage.  It's the fastest car in the game and handles realy well.  A Banshee or Comet should do fine though.

Okay, here is some tactics that I found worked.

 

At the start, stay behind Hillary for a while, because usually a cop car comes hurtling at you near the start. During the race, there are several opportunities to overtake him when he turns. NEVER EVER try to bump him or spin him out, this will only result in you getting nailed, and you'll have to start over.

 

Another big no-no is attempting to over take him on long stretches, the Sentinel is too slow. So your hopes are:

 

1. He hits incoming traffic.

2. You overtake him on a corner.

3. The cops get him.

 

No.3 is quite rare though.

One thing I like doing is keep pushing him into the bushes/trees when they come. He takes a while to get out of that mess.

i spun him out in 2 of y games and both i won easy

 

 

btw he also hits the planters outsaide of pole position

 

btw overtaking him on strecthes are the best time 2 becuz the sentinel does go faster but doesnt accelerate as fast. always on therstraight away at the start get a little behind him and trun quickly inot his back fender off he goes in a spinout. all you gotta do is not crash
