3 options really.

1) Take it to a CD or Video game store and see if they can resurface it. Usually pretty cheap.

2) Unless you already did this, install the play disc to the HDD, and try playing the game.

3) Toss the disc like a Frisbee, or use it as a coaster. Then try to find a cheap used copy of GTA, or even just the play disc.

Alternately, you can get an XBox One, and wait till fall to get GTA on that system.

That's your problem right there OP, that stupid xbox 360 chewed your disk up for breakfast. So:

-Keep your whole Xbox right now and tell it that you forgive it

-go get ya self a Xbox Juan

-buy some kesh kardzez

-rub some alcohol on your disc (preferably vodka)

-????

-profit

Your welcome.

lol that's definitely not what I said -.- you sposed to put the little *fixed side note on the post so people know I'd never type anything ridiculous like suggesting someone get an XB One.

Save the game on your xbox hard drive then run it, should work

This only works if the game disc is readable. If it can't read the disc, it won't install the game.

In this case, OP is sh*t out of luck and should just buy a cheap copy from someone else.

Fluffy Apple

why the hell would you pick up an Xbox with a moving disc inside? UGH, either attempt to clean it or take to a game shop to have them sand it back. either those two ideas or just buy a new game.

Get a disc resurfacing kit. CD/DVD/Game disc are all constructed the same way and the scratches are just in the plastic that protects the readable part of the disc with all the info on it. The disc resurfacing kits remove a few layers of plastic and in theory remove the scratches unless they are real deep. This should fix your problem.

Never insert a disk into your disc tray would be better advice.

Well when you went to the store did you get a years worth of disc warranty.

When I went to pick up my pre ordered copy I bought one year disc warranty for £1 and all I would need to do is show them that receipt to get a new disc.

However if you didn't do that you gotta buy a new one or you could try like a disc cleaning kit thing. (I know they exist but i've never used one)

The guy offered me warranty for £1 and I politely declined.

Later on I mentioned it to a friend, mocking how they have insurance for everything nowadays.

Yup.

Hahahaha you mock insurance? But yet you pick up a console with a game running in it, OP what drove you to do this? This is something a chilid would do...

Just loaded up GTA and as the loading screen appears, after two seconds this appears:

:(

I press A to try again and the issues are continuing to occur.

What do I do? Buy a new game?! Hands up ok yes I picked up my Xbox whilst it was playing and it made a big KSSSSSHCCCARRRKKKSSHH noise.

Anyone else had this alert?

Inb4 wrong section I feel uncomfortable in the sub forums I don't know anyone

I remember back when I first got GTA SA after its release the disc was scratched and of all missions, it would freeze when I was taking the jet boat out to the Aircraft Carrier to steal the Hydra...took it down to local video store and they used the disc repair for me, fixed the problem and it still works to this day.

Would try this before anything else. Of course there is no warranty or assurances from them if they damage it further, but it seems the disc is completely unplayable so it is your best option.

Seems like you've got scratches in your disc.

This is going to seem outlandish, but bare with me. Try using the toothpaste method.

If you have just regular toothpaste (without the little beads or whatever in it), put some on your finger and wipe it over the scratches. Let it sit for a couple minutes and then wash the disc off.

I tried it before with another game and it worked for some time.

Another person I talked to said his disc was completely fine and functioned normally after using this.

It doesn't hurt to try it if the game doesn't even load.

A way I've returned games in the past for free....

1). Have a niece or nephew with you (take them for pizza or a burger).

2). Have them offer up crocodile tears or look just sad.

3). Go to Failmart or Target and exchange it claiming an uncle bought it for them.it doesn't work and he doesn't have the receipt.

4). Free game - your old game goes to claims as a write off. Profit both sides.

I replaced many games this way.

Cost to you - couple of bucks

Cost to them - nothing

find a used game or dvd store. alot of comic shops sell used movies. my local gamestop even offers repair services. my comic shop/used dvd guy only charges $5 to fix disc. if he cant fix 100% he gives u two dvd or one bluray instead.

NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! dont use toothepaste. use shaving cream. white fluffy kind works better than gel but gel is better than toothpaste.

please do not do this. just try and get it repaired first. toothpaste on a disc? i don't care who might say that it works, it's a stupid thing to do. if polishing or a resurfacing doesn't fix it then try the extreme tactics or a new/used disc. that said, it is your machine and disc, so you do what you want.
