keysersozeh
How would VR work with GTA 5 fps though? With any FPS for that matter. Aiming with your head would be so awkward so i'm all for detached aiming.. But how will that work without turning your head 180 degrees and forgetting where your gun is? Should the camera move with the gun as soon as it (almost) reaches the end of your field of vision? Should u have a chair with a table attached to it... where the table can turn 360 degrees separate from the chair.. I think until now the most immersive games for VR are games in which u sit... unless you are willing to stand up and run around.
Official General
Not impressed. Not one bit I'm not trying to play COD, I want to play GTA thanks. Edited July 8, 2014 by Official General Fuzzknuckles
Fuzzknuckles
Not impressed. Not one bit I'm not trying to play COD, I want to play GTA thanks. Exactly this. GTA is about the characters, it's not about putting yourself in the world and living it. It's about taking control of characters and moving them through a story. In my opinion, this works best as a 3rd person view, not 1st. You have the frame of reference of the character on screen, rather than the view of the person intended to be you. This is why games like Half-Life, Dishonoured, etc, have fallen flat for me. I don't want to live inside a characters head, I want them to be an extension of my control. You see Fuzz, I don't mind FPS games, but I'm not really big on them in general, I rarely play them. They have to really stand out for me to take an interest in playing. Very few FPS games have really caught my attention. I've only played Far Cry 3, Killzone 2 and COD last-gen, and that's only because of the fact that they were exceptionally great games. Other than that, I pay very little attention to FPS games. Like you, I'm much more into third-person games, hence why I'm as massive GTA fan. As for FPS in GTA, mod or not, I just aint interested in that bullsh*t. Fuzzknuckles
Fuzzknuckles
They have to really stand out for me to take an interest in playing. Which is quite a tall order when the FPS audience aren't particularly interested in innovation or esoteric gaming ideas. They just want runny-runny-shooty-shooty. That's so f*cking dull, and feels like a step back at this point in the gaming life-cycle. THE_TREVALEV and Official General 2 Signatures are dumb anyway. Sentrion
I'm happy to play GTA from another person's perspective. Putting yourself in place of a character us the worst possible imagination. This is not COD. It's GTA.
Algonquin Assassin
I don't really see anything wrong if it was optional, but making it a permanent FPS wouldn't be a good idea. Besides all of these people saying it isn't GTA are forgetting something. In VC there was a FP view (admittedly quite crude) whenever you stood still and moved the right control stick. donnits
strakan7
i have to disagree with the above points. I personally hate COD although i dont mind the open-ness of battlefield (not that im looking to start a war)...and I am all for a First Person View. I am a roleplayer and I find the perspective of looking from your characters eyes a better one for associating with the char. Sure GTA has always done a great job of creating characters and I can understand why R* havent implemented it but certainly on our Online persona we should have the option although to leave it out of SP would be another kick in the testicles of the Single Player fanbase. In short, First Person isnt all about the shooting, it helps to interact with the environment and be immersed by the atmosphere.
