After leveling up to 120 and then some, and completing all the contact missions (except GTA Today) I'm working on platinum awards and weapon tints, unlocking a few more tattoos, and making sure I stay a millionaire after the DLC we get every month.

 

Heists, the Casino, drug muling, and gun running would be nice additions. But it's unlikely we won't see ANY of that until the next gen and PC releases.

I had only 1 goal from the start. That was to become a Billionaire. And through the hard modded times (and across 3 profiles) that was achieved without any consent. With that being said I enjoyed the life of GTA Online with what seemed as an endless wall of money as i was able to do and buy everything anyone could do in this game. Then I quickly became aware of why having so much unearned money was a bad thing. It drew me away from playing the game the way it meant to be played. Everything I had I never really earned it which felt like something was taken away. So in the end when the $ sweep came i was happy.

 

But now i want to be a Billionaire again so, yes i have a goal in GTAO.

The goal is to have fun. You can set your own personal goal if you need to I guess? For many it's rank 100 or 120.

Different people do this in different ways. Some like to terrorize free roam, some like to collect things, some people really enjoy network timeouts, some like winning races, and some enjoy a good old fashioned deathmatch etc

few people got it right and some got it right without realizing it, but the only one true goal of GTA Online is to have fun. spawn killing players, i bet they're having fun. people doing car shows? they're having fun too. tank trolls/greivers, having fun just the same. people grinding missions for money to get all those things they want, yep they're just having fun too. if your not having fun in one way or another then why are you even playing this game, right?

I don't know, but I wish the game DID have a story. There's supposed to be a Single Player DLC coming, right? Maybe THAT will advance online. We know our character is alive by the time the story takes place, since Lester mentions him/her.

 

There's only so much that can happen six months before the game.

As in any game I play, my goal is to have fun. I don't think there is much purpose in gaming other than entertainment.

The goal is to cause as much pain/rage/humiliation/embarrassment for other players as is humanly possible, whilst simultaneously helping out lower level players, making new friends, dicking about with old ones and generally just having an awesome time in fantastically sculpted open world.

 

Mainly the first one though.

There is no end goal. It's all subjective. Personally, my goal was previously to reach rank 100 and get the achievement, then to 120 and get the minigun and by that point, I would have had everything.

NOW, my goal is to fill up both of my 10 car garages with the cars that I want and fully customize each one. I'm probably 75% done, but that is still a lot of time to go.

Then after that... well, who knows? Maybe Rockstar will eventually let us buy a 3rd garage.

 

GTA is about freedom. Like I said, there is no end goal apart from what you set yourself.

My objective so far has been to collect vehicles. That may or may not change later. But I still got awhile before my own goal is fulfilled.

Exactly. GTA is about freedom. Except when you want to go inside a building or a do a mission how you want instead of how the game wants you to do it.

do missions to have fun afterwards / earn money to have nice cars, ammo, clothes

spend the money to f*ck sh*t up, the more money the better

 

if you are too lazy to do the missions, glitch or buy cash cards....
