Why I Made My Character Female

People are forgetting one huge factor here: ITS A GAME!
Anyone who claims there are strange undertones as to why they are doing it are just missing out themselves.
Personally, if I've bought an expensive game I want to get everything out of it that I can, so if a large portion of the game involves a female character, tons of clothes for them and so on, then I want to play that part of the game too!

As someone above mentioned above, I too have a male character that I took to level 180 or so, and pretty much got bored.

I then decided to create a 2nd character, mainly to see how I would play the game differently at the lower levels now I have a lot more knowledge.

I then thought why not take the opportunity to experience a big part of the game that I was otherwise going to totally miss out on and make a female character.

 

Its already been mentioned, but it does make the game very different to play, how people interact with you is totally different!

 

To anyone who claims its weird or strange, maybe you need to take a better look at your own life and not have such a closed mind?
I often wonder, are you the ones that constantly come up to a female character and do the thrust or poke action?

Grow up! All you're doing is showing how immature you are.

 

ETA: I'm a 41 year old straight male thats been playing computer games since the early 80's. I play games to their fullest, and if part of that means using a female character then so be it. To all those that have some sort of pathetic issues with that, then I feel sorry for you simply because you have paid for a game and ignore a big part of it! Its your loss not mine

A closed mind? Naw. Not really. My gaydar is going off with a few of you though. This dude posted twice about the same subject. For whatever reason, he really wanted to tell people why he made a female character and even says in it that the clothes are better?! Like what?! And how people protected you and you liked it? As a man that's weird. That's some female characteristics. The only time I have created a female character is when my girlfriend was watching and wanted to create one. Even in that case, I didn't create it, she did and I watched. If she chose a male character to play as, I would of been concerned. You see how weird that is?

Is there a way to change the SECOND character's look ? without creating a new one.

I have two female characters and I want the second to be a male, without touching my main one or change the second one stats neither.

YES! We shouldn't be caring about it, it is not the world's concern at the moment. We need to deal with our own problems and finding something to permanently replace oil. Obviously gays would rather look at male avatars. They can 'identify' with them, and/or get a chubby all at the same time. I Shoot female characters on site and I shoot to kill.

 

Thankfully for them I don't come across many female characters online. Yesterday I was doing a mission and one of my team mates was a female character so I couldn't kill her which was a shame. I never leave anyone behind and never stab my team mates in the back so despite my blood lust being at an all time high I took the moral high ground and got on with the mission

 

Anyway that's my story. If you see me online don't be afraid too gun me down like a wild dog I know it's all part of the game

I thought the point of having multiple characters was to develop different stories to coincide with those characters, so I never thought it really mattered whether people wanted to be male or female characters because...it's a game. I'm a female character because I'm a female and just kinda roll with the bunches, but if I ever branched off it wouldn't matter the gender.

 

I honestly can't seem to find it beautiful because I don't want people to sympathize with me because I'm a girl playing a video game and I hate that the taboo still exists and females are marginalized for joining in. I've had consoles for as long as I can remember because they're fun as hell so I just kind of wish everyone would go with the general flow of things rather than spare judgment and compromise due to gender.

Most people either try to be somebody they aren't in the game or they try to be themselves. I don't live in LA, have two apartments, all these cars, and go on murder sprees. I play as a woman in saints row 2/3 because it's not a very manly game.... I dunno the character they give you is too feminine to take seriously as a man but as a woman it works.

 

playing online as a woman though..... I dunno seems a little strange to me..... men are better than woman...... why would you want everyone thinking you're a weakling and easy pickings ? lol
