nibblesthecat Posted June 23, 2014 Share Posted June 23, 2014 having only ever played GTA on console's , but looking to for the 1st time ever buy the same game again but for PC, how does the control mechanism work. I.e it seem's a controller would be best for driving , but mouse for shooting. How do people play GTAIV on PC given that esp in online it seem's a bit cumbersome to switch control's mid fight as you exit you car to do some shooting. DMadS Posted June 23, 2014 Share Posted June 23, 2014 (edited) Combat with mouse and keyboard combo is the way to go, simply unbeatable due to the speed advantage and combinations you can set but controller is unbeatable for driving. Switching between controller and mouse is a mist for me too yet to be tried but i don't think it will be a headache. If you think about it, the only time it matters is if you're engaging in freeroam combat. Deathmatch is straight forward. Vooodu Posted June 23, 2014 Share Posted June 23, 2014 Mouse and Keyboards suck on PC for GTA simply because this is not a FPS twitch shooter. A mouse and keyboard will make you more accurate when shooting but it will make you complete trash when driving. And to me driving is more important So it comes down to the trade off and what anyone feels comfortable with. I started playing GTA 4 with a mouse/keyboard, and while i liked being more accurate when shooting i could not stand driving with it. So i went for a controller.
