makeshyft
how many times have you had to get out of the car right when something comes on the radio that you want to hear? maybe it doesnt happen to you but it happens to me all the time... so basically, what does everyone think of having an option where you can wear a walkman? itd make walking anywhere a little more fun... just my opinion, give feedback if you like... Phil Ca$$idy
maybe after getting so many hidden packages? There would have 2 have an on/off option tho.
segosa
hmm good idea i suppose, but could get annoying when u just dont wanna hear the radio all the time, plus the radio would get OLD very fast

sezky
Or maybe some gang members have walkmens and you beat the living eye outa them and steel it, just like weapons.. ?
MrMojo
Hmmm, I dont like this. The fun of this game is the cool realistic touches. Get in the car, theres an actual radio. Get out, you hear people and cars. Besides, how realistic would it be to have the tough main mob character walk around with a walkman?
hitmankilla
true, MrMojo, but then again have a butcher at the movie "the professional". the main bad guy is one bloody buggery sinister snake and yet he listens to his walkman right before he gives the order to his thugs to kill blokes. game on
dizzy_gopher
Where there discmans on the 80s? Yeh. They were square, while CDs were round! Funny Stuff.
Tenacious_Dude
it should be like gta1 where u just select continuous music from the pause menu. its not really realistic if you change clothes with cops like just outside your house and the cops dont recognise you, or you have a car and get it to change colour with cops right next to you and the cops don't recognise, but if you get into a completely different car with different number plates and all with no cops looking they still recognise you. and its only a game. if you think its real i don't think you should be playing it
foreverstoned
Or maybe some gang members have walkmens and you beat the living eye outa them and steel it, just like weapons.. ? I was thinking along the same lines, in GTA3 you would walk by some Peds and you could hear that they had walkman's, I was kinda hoping that you could steal these in GTA3 but you couldn't, but I think this would be the way to go if R* were to add music on foot. Apocalypse89
The real reason I want Portable Radio is: Iron Maiden+Gun Fight=Heaven.
foreverstoned
plus on the PC version you could add your own MP3 tracks so the music would never get "old" as mentioned above. lol, not forgetting that those tracks were "old" long before vice city was released, lol Hands up anyone who remebers them the first time round lol
makeshyft
*puts his hand up* i didnt say it had to be a discman, cds only came out in '86, discmans were a little behind, but walkmans were there...
Parasyte
To stop it getting old, how about a battery option, say, 3 GTA days and then the walkman stops, so you then have to buy/steal more. Wouldnt take much to shove a couple of electrical shops to buy a walkman/batteries from. Edit- Spelling

NickTheGreat
What always bugs me is the way that when you get out of a car and leave the door open, you can't hear the radio when you're standing right next to the car. A really nice touch would be to let us hear the radio when we're standing near a car, or to a lesser extent when a car is driving by. As for music on foot, I think it would probably get quite annoying. Walkman idea sounds good, though... Maybe some clever person could invent a way to copy MP3's to our memory cards and play them from there into Vice, or something along those lines...
