TheTechPoTaToCHIP
I expect that the differences would be comparable to past GTA games and their PC ports. Basically some graphical upgrades (that casual gamers and gamers that aren't that technically inclined wont even notice) and maybe some new side stuff but people really shouldn't expect a new game because its not, its a port that looks slightly better (and don't give me BS and calling me blind, because even with all the upgrades you tech geeks notice by examining ever frame of that trailer. Let's be blunt and cut the BS it still LOOKS the same)

S1LV3R_W0LF
I expect that the differences would be comparable to past GTA games and their PC ports. Let's be blunt and cut the BS it still LOOKS the same) The fk you're talking about? How can you say it's the same thing? A port means you have the same game, with higher resolution and better textures... EXACTLY THE SAME, not new NPC's. not new models, not more vegetation, not new modeled car interiors... that's not a port at best is a game with new DLC. So everyone saying it's the same thing it's because they have no idea what a port stands for. Things like different story and activities might not happen, although there is a very strong possibility that they might include activities and side-missions that couldn't be included because of memory limitation and media space. Like it or not this time V isn't being ported from LG consoles it's the other way around... reason why you saw things not being released and now like magic they're back... they were never removed, the fact is that they were never there to start with. In fact people should have noticed in the first screens when they saw many of the effects and motion blur with AA that were expected to never make it into the released game. Most people are still in denial but they were tricked, but this time not with bullshots, just shots and footage from other versions like UBISOFT did with WD or any other companies, the only difference is R* kept everyone in ignorance. Anyway, the point here is... the game is not a port, it's not the same game with visual upgrades, we've seen a few extras and knowing that this is a proper NG game as I said since the beginning, expect a lot more from a game being created for more then 5 years. And I'm not being optimistic I'm being realistic and basing my opinion in facts, I'm still waiting to see the facts behind all the Nay sayers, where are they show them to me. I will pwn you newbs
I only expect slightly better graphics, more NPC, more trees and animals, and a better performance specifically online. I don't expect new interiors bc R* says f*ck interiors. I also don't expect extra land on the map or an LC return but that would actually make me go next gen A.O.D.88

Well, what will be in this next gen version, aside from: Better textures and draw distance More foliage More NPCs and animals Different lighting That's what I took from the trailer. Aside from those things, will there be more than just technical improvments and added npcs? (All of which, don't get me wrong, can have an impact on you playing the game.) Official General
Logically speaking, Rockstar would have to add something significantly new to the new-gen version of GTA V if they really want it to sell it to the masses, I would think it would make sense to release it once they are ready to release the SP DLC, and further major gameplay updates and additions. It would be stupid if was just the same game alone, but with extra animals, nicer graphics and effects. This is Rockstar's one final chance to redeem themselves with V, and erase the disappointment that it is right now. They be stupid not to take this chance. or1, Aleph-Zero and robban

Wow, getting killed by Hammerheads and Cyotes as opposed to Great Whites and Mountain Lions? I guess that's going to add so many hours of new gameplay huh? I said that to lol232 already earlier. He said a similar thing you quoted to me, He was trying to accuse me of deliberately putting down the new-gen version and being pessimistic about it, and he decided to counter that by displaying a list of all the new stuff that was being added in the NG version -he listed hammerhead sharks as one of the great new additions. I said to him that hammerhead sharks are great, but what's the difference between being killed by a hammershark or typical shark ? Sharks are still sharks. Extra animals are cool, but I wanna see more significant additions than just that and nice graphics/effects. "I wish people like you" Well, to be fair i wasn't replying to you. There's a difference between being pessimistic and putting down everything only because it wasn't shown in the teaser. It's dumb pessimism. "Oh they didn't show this or that, so obviously there will be no this or that" or "They only showed this, so we'll only get this.". Rockstar has never worked this way. The trolls that are like "THERE WILL BE NO NEW ADDITIONS ON THE NEW VERSION. I'M THE OWNER OF THE TRUTH" are the ones who bother me.

Well from what I can see so far that's available to me, the upgrades I've seen for the new-gen version of GTA V are nothing really significant, and that was what he listed to counter my point. So therefore, to me he countered nothing. Nicer, detailed graphics, more peds and traffic, and extra animals are not really significant upgrades to me, it's not really gonna make much of a difference if it's still exactly the same game with no significant decent gameplay additions or SP DLC. "Well from what i can see so far" We're talking about the future here. We're not judging the first trailer only. The trailer showed new stuff, therefore the optimistic are waiting for more new stuff in upcoming reveals. We're basically debating here whether we can expect more significant changes than we saw in the teaser for the NG/PC version or not. Rockstar never shows everything in a teaser (in fact most companies don't) so i'm expecting more.

Harryhenry
I think the issue that these "pessimists" have with the "optimists" in this thread, is that the "optimists" are getting hyped with this game. And hype is... well, I'll quote video by Super Bunnyhop: "Hype is a gamble. a bad gamble. If you don't get hyped for something that ends up disappointing, then you have nothing to loose. If you don't get hyped for something that turns out great, then it's this totally awesome plesant suprise that feels completley unadulterated by marketing. It takes you offguard - you don't know what to expect, so it exceeds your expectations! Plus, getting hyped up for something sets a personal bar for your expectations that's not likely to get met by the final product. If you get hyped for something that turns out actually good, then, it's probably still not as good as what you were lead to expect. Because marketing is hyperbole. (The uploader has) had some legitimately good game ruined for me because of the hype. Because I had been set up to expect something that they weren't. And because of that, (he) usually tr(ies) to black out as much pre-release marketing material as possible." "I wish I wasn't thinking like this, but, that's what this kind of marketing does to you. I want to go into (a game) blind, I wanna be completely suprised and not know what kind of a trip I'm in for, but that kind of experince is something that hype takes away. It ruins the suprises and spoils the twists. It gets you mindjacked into a self-congratulatory fanboy mentality that sees you falling for games as products, rather then as expressions. Hype isn't there for your fun. It's there for making other people money by tricking you into buying stuff you don't need and might never have actually wanted in the first place. It makes you realize that these companies aren't being honest with you, and it causes you to question whether or not you're being honest with yourself. It's an unplesant experince and a bad gamble. And that's why you shoud just wait. just, WAIT." And that quote sums up why this forum was so disappointed with GTA V.
