I'm NOT expecting anything new from the NG version of V

People in this thread seem to be taking very vague statements by rockstar and twisting them into these crazy ideas. Look, I'm not being pessimistic with my assumptions here (that being that the next gen gta v will just have improved folliage, more animals, higher res textures, better draw distance, all the gta online DLC), I'm just being realistic here, and setting my expectations properly! You all got similarly hyped for GTA V, and look what happened there!

especially what happened in 2011 after trailer 1. "we will have more info soon"...8 months later

Personally, yes my opinion!!!, I think that Rockstar will at least do the following:

- Animals in Online, including the new animals - highly doubt that/yes

- SP dlc will be included - I doubt that since there is no SP DLC.

- new minigames, like gambling, drinking, dancing and I hope bowling. - hahahahaha, no.

- A lot more interiors, like Bars, Night clubs and restaurants. - even more hahahahah, no.

- A lot of cut content will see a return. It just has too. To much had to be cut out of the game. - Has to? Because you said so? Also Nope.

- more peds, vehicles and foliage in both SP and Online. - more or less confirmed.

- MAYBE an expanded Grand Senora Desert, as it was meant to be in the Beta. - and whole northern San Andreas. Also nope.

I love gta V. It was the best game ever made on last generation consoles. I have spent so much time in it, and it was worth it all the way.

On NG we will see GTA V 2.0, the way it was meant to be played. I believe that from the start, GTA V was made to be for next gen.

I personally still hope that they will get rid of the V. Just release it as: Grand Theft Auto

a new start, with an improved engine etc.

And again high hopes. GTA V was not meant to be made for Next gens (or current gens depends on how you look). You people acting like GTA V was some kind of beta/half-backed game, made only for a quick buck on the last gens (like WD, where new consoles was the focus of the development). GTA V on the previous consoles is the right version and the future one is just a PC port. Since next gens are using the same architecture R* may as well port them to consoles without using much resources and time.

We've seen games like that before, there was PC and Xbox port of III, VC, SA, etc. And we will see something like that again. These games got better vehicle and ped density, better textures and/or models, better effects like reflection on cars and even better foliage (Xbox III). They were more or less better version, but nowhere in hell they were better games.

Sure you may dream about new map, bigger amount of interiors and new minigames as no one can stop you, but the true reason is something was not right here, if you want better version. Was the map too small or the interiors too weak? Maybe minigames got boring too fast? Just to be sure, these are exactly the same things you will get there. There won't be new desert, San Fierro or new missions. You will get the same game, fixed and nicer that's all.

Also for people saying that mentioning new locations (SF or Paleto county) means something, it means sh*t. Many locations were mentioned only in every previous GTA (SF was mentioned in VC iirc), but did they brought them as dlcs? I don't think you need to answer that. Also more Ram and better graphics doesn't mean they will be able to do whatever they want. Sure they will add some more or less unnecessary things (like Hammerhead Sharks), but GTA VI will be the game that will truly change everything.

To sum this up, have you seen WD or both generations? Don't expect much more or you will be seriously disappointed and the crying will start again: "Stupid R*, boo, liars, they didn't bring SF, I wanted new cars, no new minigames, no interior camera in cars, pre order cancelled," et cetera.

With this phrase I agree very much, and it just shows how all the pessimists wrong.

And because it's true, I'm sure we're all going to be very surprised by the amount of

improvements and additions that we will see in the coming weeks

GTA V was made to be for next gen - equals -> All the things that were missing, are now in the CG & PC versions.

This is not the same case. Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City and San Andreas were not pushing the limits of their respective console generation so hard they had to cut so many damned corners. GTA V on last-gen has done just that.

I'm not arguing that it's going to be an objectively better game, from a story or gameplay standpoint, but all of that atmosphere that seems to be missing in V, all of that visual ambition, it will be present in the PC and NG versions. This can make it a better game. Mood, tone and atmosphere can go a long way in making your game feel better. Especially when you are aiming for realism and accurate recreation of environments.

There is no "right" version. But if you were to objectively argue a definitive version, the PC and NG versions would be it. All updates since September 17th packed in, all special content, various enhancements thanks to new tech. Even if it is a lot of little things, and in the case of GTA games in particular, those little things add up to make it that much better of an experience.

Lastly, GTA V wasn't really "meant" for any platform. According to build logs extracted from the last-gen game disk, the PC and NG versions were worked on separately from the LG versions of the game. Since around 2012. This fits quite nicely with Rockstar's past claims of not necessarily having a lead platform, but working to optimize their games the way they are meant to be played for each platform, utilizing their strengths and finding ways around their weaknesses (to an extent, at least).

First of all, I specifically said: My opinion. I did that to avoid posts like yours.

that said:

GTA V was made on the PC, it had to be downgraded very, very, very much to fit on the last generation consoles. And you say that it wasn't made for next gen? hahaha, you fool yourself. From all the trailers you can see that it was made for next generation. The xbox360 and ps3 just can't handle it all.

I never said that I expected SF to make a return in GTA at the release of GTA V for the Next Generation consoles.

You refer to a thread I participate in and yeah, there is a lot of evidence, or how you want to call it, for Northern San Andreas.
But at launch for Next Gen? Doesn't look like it, also I never said that.

Singleplayer DLC is announced by Rockstar. It seems likely that as a sell booster they will include this in the next generation version.

And that said, just look at what I first said:
It was my OPINION.

PS: Rockstar confirmed that GTA Online is here to stay with everything they HAVE EVER DONE and WILL DO coming to GTA Online.

hehehehe your turn. ;-)

With this phrase I agree very much, and it just shows how all the pessimists wrong.

Yes. Look at the reply of me on the one above here... I think that pretty much sums it all up.

Rockstar had several really amazing features that didn't made it into the current gen so why not implement the cut features into next gen

this, and they weren't several. It was quite a bunch. well even more. It was a lot. Rockstar cut so much from the game, that it isn't the game they started with.
Originally GTA V would have featured Interiors for restaurants, it would feature gang wars, drug dealing and more. All of this was cut from the game (sadly).

and their claim that GTA Online is a seperate entity to evolve on its own. To let it include everything they have ever done and will do.

GTA V on last gen isn't a beta version. it is a full game, fully awesome and fully epic.

However. They learned from their mistakes, and this is why we will see a better, improved game with some new features on Next gen/ PC.

So in a way, it is a beta for Next Gen. But the game itself is absolutely NO beta, because it is already finished.

Literally all my excitement is based off of what they've shown in the trailer and the inevitable mods for the PC version. If they offer some sort of transfer program where you can get the NG version at a discount by alreadying owning the 360/PS3 version, then I am completely sold.

I'm pretty sure a few months ago, someone found radar icon files in the game that had things like basketball and burger shot.

While I understand the annoyance with everybody's unreasonable expectations, Rockstar, inevitably, like all developers must, cut content from GTA 5 to meet their optimal release window of Fall 2013; however, I believe Rockstar, most likely before the 360/PS3 release, began working on GTA 5 for PC, and the success of the PS4 and Xbox One contributed to them considering to port it to those consoles too. By working on what at the time were next gen versions, I bet they decided to try to implement a lot of what was cut from the 360/PS3 version, mostly stuff that wasn't possible due to limitations and time restraints. I think it's safe to say we'll get to see more interiors and there is no doubt in my mind that there will be new missions, but yes, I do agree with you, the whole "access to new cities" thing is a bit of an outlandish fantasy.

You all being pessimistic because you can't stand having paid 60$ for a game and it's gonna be crushed by another version soon. It's the fanboy syndrome. The same happens with consoles. A lot of people can't stand other people saying their console is best because they paid 400$ for it. It's natural. You want the thing you paid for to be the best.

Of course those who say there will be another city and stuff like that are probably gonna be disappointed. But you all who say it's gonna be only an HD remake are as dellusional as those ones (specially the ones who think GTA V wasn't intended for next-gen lol).

If we will see other cities, which I don't doubt we will, it will be as an add on. And it won't be free either. Cities will probably be released as a subgame or something like that.

And you have to pay at least 40 dollars for something like that.

Again: I NEVER said that we will have access to new cities in the next gen release.

I am getting sick of people saying a new city will come for GTA V NG at release.
Yes there will be, eventually. But NOT at the release of Next Generation/PC.

I dot get the "look what happened there" part. It was an amazing game, easily the best open world game.. Made the game producer a tonne of money, Provided them with an opportunity to test out things like online before it came to current gen.. The only people it was a failure to are to poor to afford a pc/current gen console or just whiny self entitled f*cks in every day life that just have to be negative because seeing other people enjoy sh*t makes their tears taste like the alamo sea.

I also dont get the "why release it on current gen brigade", They dont seem to realize that the next gta probably wont release for a good 4 years or so. Do you think we are all going to hold onto our old consoles or play gta online ghost town old gen while the ps4 xboxone progress gameplay and graphics. This will supply us with a GTA game on current gen while we wait and as they upgrade and build the online world into their proper vision for it with stronger machines.

This sh*t ain't rocket science, This will be a great return for a measly 60 buckeroos.

Yeah in fact I do disappear once the game releases, because of the "self entitled whiny f*cks" that do nothing but be negative about minute details. If they detest the game so much why would they stay on a forum about the game? Makes no sense you would drop it and move on, Oh wait.. to troll.

I will donate them a fiver each so they don't have to pressure mummy for allowance money so they can buy a pc or new gen and the bitterness of being left out goes away.

GAMES sh*t GAME IS CRAP GAME IS AWFUL THEY ARE RIPPING US OFF THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING, The more I write it the more i might believe it so i don't feel so butthurt. boodiddyhoodah :panic:

I never accused you of saying there will be new cities, lol. I was agreeing with what you said about people expecting too much!

sorry then. It is just that I am very active in another thread, which is about future map dlc/add ons. There we found out that it is highly likely that we will see Northern San Andreas eventually. (I personally don't think as dlc, but hey, anything is possible) That's why I thought you meant me by saying: I do agree with you, the whole "access to new cities" thing is a bit of an outlandish fantasy.

sorry for my comment then :p I was just a little pissed off by a post earlier... I think you know which one xD.

Next Generation will probably see new cities added to Grand Theft Auto Online. But absolutely NOT at the release of GTA V. To make a map, Rockstar is at least busy for 1/2 years. I see them adding a new map part somewhere autumn 2015. Not earlier.

I would love to see it earlier, but I don't think so.

However; people need to bear in mind that Rockstar confirmed it. They actually said:

“Every part of Grand Theft Auto Online has been designed with expansion in mind. A dream of ours is to create an entire Grand Theft Auto world that consists of everything we've done or are going to do then let the player freely move between them. The launch of Grand Theft Auto Online is a beginning for us; it gets us a little closer to being able to make that happen.” source

so yeah... xD

again sorry, and don't go too far off topic here,

I think that we will see GTA V, including some cut content for the release of 2014.

Official General

It doesn't really matter. The next gen GTA V will still be inferior to GTA IV anyway.

If Rockstar don't add anything significantly new to the new-gen version that would really improve the GTA V experience, then yeah it would still make no difference as GTA IV will still be the better game in my eyes.

To be honest, I'd be much more excited over a fully remastered IV new-gen version with decent new additions and improvements.

Well I expect the same old GTA5 but with improved graphics and performance. Slightly improved AI and more of them at the same time. I don`t expect it to be like a completely new game. We might get some major content pack at best that includes couple of new weapons and cars and stuff. What I`m really wondering is what will be the pre-order bonuses. Will they do the same ones or will there be completely new ones?

North Yankton as a playable map as a pre-order bonus would seriously boost their pre-order sales.

Due to the improved pedestrian AI, I conclude that we're having revemped ped interactions.

Remember the pier jogger scene in Trailer 1? We might see that in-game. Remember the squabbling Families? Same as the previously mentioned scene.

However, I'm not expecting too much like a much better dialogue, storyline plothole fillers(unless they bundle the Story DLC), new maps.

A bit off topic, but I hate the fact that people - without even knowledge about computing - assume that we MIGHT get new maps ATTACHED to the current map. Sure! There's a huge chance we're getting a new map, but stitch it with the current one? They have to be IDIOTS.

How the f*ck can the RAM handle all those assets from 2 maps at the same time? Don't give me the draw distance excuse, unless you have the knowledge about RAM. Because even if you reduce Draw and Detail distance to the lowest, the RAM will still have to load up 2 BIG, DETAILED maps. -.-

Yeah gta iv was superior clearly, Non stop city, more generic city and at the other end some city mixed in with bowling. :panic: Give me strength..

I liked nikos background and his character but the map was the most boring uncreative load of snore ever, Its all personal though. We all like different things. No planes, No Animals, No Country, No Mountains, No exploration of the sea and the thickest AI of all time. gta iv.

Just a moment, does that also mean enhanced yoga physics and new movements?

I just can not wait longer :sigh:

Well the number of GTA games without these features heavily outweighs the number of games with these features, so...

No one seems to care that none of these are in Watch Dogs. Or pretty much any other game. So...

I'm just so confused by what people actually want right now.

It seems that it's basically 'more than they deserve' to me, though.

Signatures are dumb anyway.

Although GTA IV and GTA V are still GTAs. You guys are still comparing apples to oranges. Both games have completely different appeals except for core mechanics.

Yeah, you pessimstic people just ruin the excitment for everyone. Just let the people by hyped, it's a good thing.

Yeah, see how you feel when the inevitable disappointment kicks in.

Do you not remember how bummed-in-the-gob everyone felt by V when it released? Why do you think it will be any better when these NON CONFIRMED things don't eventually appear?

Be hyped, sure, but be realistic.
