How cool would it be if all crime was legal for 12 hours (IRL Time) in GTA Online? Kill anybody, rob a conviance store? cops won't even look your way.. Steal clothing from the clothing stores steal weapons from ammunation steal anything from fort zancudo with out military interference.Break into apartments where players are currently inside of and kill them.. It would be cool

Would you have to pay car insurance?

Would you be allowed to use passive mode?

If so would players have to pay their hospital bill?

Cops are the most annoying thing in GTA online in my opinion. Anything that gets rid of them I'm up for. Its unlikely to happen though. Too many things would be too much a benefit. Basically, free clothes, weapons, unlimited money, etc. Its a shame, I'd love to see something like this. Maybe with some tweaking of the idea I could see it being a possibility.

The cops are easy to get away from. Dark alley or head for the hills!! It's not hard even without a fully modded super car.

No, but levels of response should vary dependent on where you are on the map. If you turn downtown LS into a war zone you should absolutely have the cops swarm all over you, but if you get into a battle in the desert you should get little or no interference

I like the idea, but not sure how I feel about stealing from ammunition and clothes shops. Unless the items stolen only last for the session similar to weapons you pick up during survivals. I also wouldn't allow people to enter apartments. They would just go to the garage and blow up all your cars. But besides that this could be cool

This has been discussed before with mixed emotion. It would be nice but unlikely to happen. We are more likely to see an implementation of Red Dead Redemption style servers with Normal, Hardcore and Friendly Free Roam.

 

In my opinion:

 

Friendly FR should be for car meets etc. No weapons, no cops.

 

Normal FR has lock on aiming etc.

 

Hardcore FR has free aim and more armed pedestrians

 

Again. Just my opinion of a way to tweak things.

They're annoying. It's also friggin' stupid how you get a star for pretty much everything you do.

Hell, how does one get a star by killing a random NPC out in the middle of nowhere with no witnesses at all? Bullsh*t, that's how.

There should be a toggle option in private lobbies to turn the cops on or off, like in GTA IV.

Cop wars are fun, I enjoy them as much as the next person but sometimes you just wanna do whatever without worrying about 5-0 raining on your parade. The Lester option doesn't last long enough, it's useful but it doesn't solve the issue.

I agree. It would solve many problems, scum wouldn't survive, the prisons would be empty again. Dumb politicians wouldn't be reigning anymore ( i wont say no names ) - i would upvote that!

If we going of the movie purge then "dumb" politicians e.g David Cameron are exempt from being murdered ect due to the purges guidelines. "Prisons would be empty" how do we know? If anything it could fuel peoples desire to kill even after the annual purge has finished which would result in further over crowding in prisons. If by scum you mean homeless people some just lose their way in life e.g fall into turmoil after a family member dies ect. Some people from the army become homeless after coming back from service and don't find it easy to intergrate back into society after the high stress situations their in everyday whilst out at war.

OP I'm behind this 100%. Great idea, lots of fun, filling up my stash bag with P&Qs and the fuzz can't do f*ck all about it.

I am disappointed. I was sorta hoping that we were talking about an actual purge and not the movie.

 

If anything needs purging, it is the bullcrap World Record set by players that obviosly exploited their way to the tattoo.

 

Everyday is The Purge in free mode, so nothing really needs to be done there.
