Fighting question

I went in a Melee death match and I fought this guy who does the heavy punch when you run up to someone and is unable to be blocked and he did it multiple times how do they do that and how can you defend it?

This is absolutely spot on , I like melee fights and just used to accept the lag excuse but the more I understand how the physics of your characters movements combined with what your asking it to perform the more I realize it is like everything you don't understand , you have to put in the time and practice

Check the controller scheme for melee attacks. You do realize that you can counter and attack, right? It all boils down to timing.

Yeah melee involes lots of skill. It's like tekken but you only gotta bash the one button. Who can bash the same button the most that's proper skill.

This...sometimes lags causes me to miss and fall off but I still love them...I win very often and I love winning.

Tapping the sprint and melee weapon, lol, with lag it'll look like they're minigunning you with their fists.

Still not as bad as the knife, i'm pretty sure the knife has a higher RoF than the minigun.

Three buttons, punch, kick and evade.

This is the correct method. I've done it since release and never lose fist fights because hardly any one knows how to do it. Use your thumb to change between sprint and mele quickly. Once your timing is correct it will result in super quick punches that cant be blocked with no recover time between punches.

So? His question was answered. He wanted to know how to do it. I think a lot of people can win melee fights without this tactic.

interesting, host seems to be hardest to kill when using this method, least affected by lag? i cant block or move when they are pummeling me but they are able to escape and hit me back when i do it to them, sneaky buggars!

Could be true but I have no idea...I have the most success when guys try to run away for health.
