Levelling race wins & losses.

OP admits to not using brakes then wonders why he doesnt win. Proper bracking is as important in racing as speed and until the OP learns this he will continue to lose more than he wins.

Go wide, lay off acceleration.

Like it has been said several times in this topic, this is not the best racing technique. With doing this you will always be slower than good racers who use the racing line + good breaking point. The reason for this is that when you do the 'lay off acceleration', it forces you to :

a) slow down a lot earlier before the corner than racers that are braking late

b) not accelerate as fast coming out of the turn than others

I mean there are tons of youtube videos from good/excellent racers that show you how to use the racing line at its fullest, you can start with broughy's "racing school", it's just the basics (done on gran turismo but still applys to every racing game) but I know my racing improved a lot after watching, and putting hours/days into practicing this technique.

You just need to start questionning yourself and the way you race. Like you mentionned by using your "lay off acceleration technique", racers in your crew still manage to go faster than you in corners, and I'm pretty sure (everybody in here seems to be too) that's because they use the racing line. Doesn't that say something about the way you're racing?

And regarding your stats, you shouldn't be concentrating on that for now, you should be concentrating on being a better racer, and the way to do it is by racing against better than you and learning from the mistakes you make compared to the ones they don't. You will have to lose some to win more, no way around. Except maybe cheating/trading wins... all the "non-legit" ways to win, but I wouldn't consider myself a "good racer" by doing so.

By the way, I don't have a good W/L ratio, (216 / 486 approx.), mainly because I'm fresh to the racing world and my first 300 races on GTA I was stubbornly using the same technique you are, and won maybe 1 out of 7 races (had a 40/260 W/L). I started practicing a lot by myself first (using the racing line), and that W/L ratio has improved quite a lot. I know I will never get a 1:1 ratio because I always want to challenge myself by competing against better racers, but that ratio isn't my objective, my objective is only to become a better racer and become competitive against the best.

Dude your race stats are actually good. Every legit racer will always have more losses than wins. It's a 1/16 chance of winning, so it's only natural. People with higher wins than losses only got it in some scumbag way, and if you want to be like them, I'll tell you how. Here are some ways that will raise your win score drastically. Keep in mind this is what everybody with a higher win/loss does, and if they say they don't, they're straight up lieing to you.

-Create a race that's easy for you but hard for everybody else. For example, ontop of a building with a bunch of barricades that only you know the way out of.

-Make a "Racing" crew and invite a bunch of inferiors. This method is pretty popular and can gain you a bunch of wins fast.

-Host a race and choose a class no one races, like compacts. Make sure you have the best and fully modded vehicle of the class and choose customs on.

-Host a short race like Criminal Records and invite people. Once they start showing up, kick everyone except the lowest level. Make sure to have customs on. Proceed the race.

-And finally, and this is the most important, AVOID QUICKJOB RACES. You do NOT want to race with a bunch of randoms. Alot of them can be very competitive. People with higher wins than losses are not the competitive type so it's mandatory you avoid these.

So there you have it. Now you will be seen in a whole new light and people will think you are a good racer because of your win/loss ratio. Just don't join a quickjob race, it can get pretty embarrassing.

Good luck to ya.

Hard to believe there could be a post more pathetic than one worried about his stats, but you nailed it.

The fastest way to learn how to drive is to get a Comet and learn to control it.

Which is why I made a race restricted to Comets :) contact on, traffic on, weather is set to rain. As I said before, randoms reject my race. Only people that have touched my races are crew members.

This thread is retarded.... lmao

Locks it to comets with rain ON, traffic ON and NON contact on. And wonders why everyone leaves his lobbys? Really?

Acts as if proper racing techniques are just fairy tales..... Brakes ? Apexing turns? Thats just all fairy tales and doesn't really work?

And then admits to quiting any races the moment anything goes wrong. OOops hit a light post time to quit!

Is there anything else?...lol

Joined several races today, both contact & non-contact. I'm on the brink of GTAO racing retirement just for the sake of my racing stats..

Yeah... As it seems you don't want to take anybody's advice in this thread and still wondering what's wrong, I think it's best you do. Or you know, you can continue to 'whine' in your posts...

To me it looks like your stats are way more important than the actual racing.

Playing with randoms wont get you anywhere - you should try to find some people that actually enjoying racing and get better.

I joined my first racing crew 5months ago and I had like 200wins/700loss,now i'm at like 2280/1800 and all I have to say is thanks to my crew - I'd say 80% of my experience comes from them. :)

Better taking of the turns I expect. Is it in the jet and are you using the afterburners?

Sultans of Swings is the hardest race to win. What's some tips for this weird race?

I created this race, what tips would you possibly need just follow the dirt track !! and don't fall of the edges !! You will need to use your brakes, this does appear a somewhat difficult task for 75% of players in GTA though ..........
