It just is. Glad I quit before the finish line as I was 3rd.

Quiiting races doesn't equal a loss? news to me should be as it's a dnf

Mathematically everyone is going to have more losses than wins in the grand scheme because you have 1 winner and typically at least 4-5 losers every race. On average, you'll win 15% of your races if you remove skill. The better skilled drivers will be closer to 50%, which if you look at it from a math standpoint is completely outstanding especially if they race full races a lot. Throw in some random factors like other drivers skills, and crash tactics, you start to see why people aren't able to maintain a high win record.

Don't get frustrated you lose a lot, its how its supposed to happen.

i done a lot of races recently and got my W/L Ratio from 330W/890L to 480W/940L :) Just race and have some fun, if you wanna level up your Statistic, play Non-Contact.

They could just display something like "Won X out of Y races"

X being the number of 1st place finishes, Y being the amount of races you've played.

I guess my way of "boosting" is just backing out of races before they start when it's a race that I don't have much chance to win. (Jumps r'us,etc) if you quit mid match your a B*tch. I was undefeated #1 15-0 in the world on a TDM level and I was losing but I didn't quit. Took the loss like a man.

Dude your race stats are actually good. Every legit racer will always have more losses than wins. It's a 1/16 chance of winning, so it's only natural. People with higher wins than losses only got it in some scumbag way, and if you want to be like them, I'll tell you how. Here are some ways that will raise your win score drastically. Keep in mind this is what everybody with a higher win/loss does, and if they say they don't, they're straight up lieing to you.

-Create a race that's easy for you but hard for everybody else. For example, ontop of a building with a bunch of barricades that only you know the way out of.

-Make a "Racing" crew and invite a bunch of inferiors. This method is pretty popular and can gain you a bunch of wins fast.

-Host a race and choose a class no one races, like compacts. Make sure you have the best and fully modded vehicle of the class and choose customs on.

-Host a short race like Criminal Records and invite people. Once they start showing up, kick everyone except the lowest level. Make sure to have customs on. Proceed the race.

-And finally, and this is the most important, AVOID QUICKJOB RACES. You do NOT want to race with a bunch of randoms. Alot of them can be very competitive. People with higher wins than losses are not the competitive type so it's mandatory you avoid these.

So there you have it. Now you will be seen in a whole new light and people will think you are a good racer because of your win/loss ratio. Just don't join a quickjob race, it can get pretty embarrassing.

Good luck to ya.

That's bullsh*t. I've got slightly more wins than losses and I have never boosted races in any way. And I don't race like your usual douchebag on GTA by pushing others off the road if they try to overtake me.

Zeus your crew member here i have the same kind of record and i was close to meeting evens two weeks ago. As you may of noticed there are some really good racers in our crew in fact some of the best online so playing against members in the crew will almost always present a bigger loss than win average. What you need to do is find a track you are really good at and make it yours, dominate it so you only lose on the odd occasion, it can be a custom race or R* created. That's what i used to do i had a track which no one could touch me on simply because i new all the little tricks and how to win even if i was last at the start of the race.

Hope this helps somewhat :)

Thanks Bhoys.

I've made a race locked to Comets to give people a challenge, crew or not, default weather is rain & traffic on, non-contact. Not one stranger joins my races only crew members & someone will win my race but me. Sadly, the only people who play my content are crew members :( & not strangers & that means there's no way I'll win my own created race :( it's hard to win races because we have elite racers who know what they're doing & I know what I'm doing but I never win when racing with crew members :(

I made a muscle car race for the windy roads of Vinewood Hills, I didn't win that; I made a circuit race for Sports Classics & I didn't win that.

Basically, I've created 5 races & I've never won them lol.

OP wants to have a great race W/L record, but OP can only win races against unskilled racers....

It's not bad at all to have more losses than wins. In a race with 16 players there's a 1/16 chance any given person will win (if they all have equal skill). If you win half as much as you lose, that's already a sign that you're pretty good at races.

Quick question, hope somebody can answer. Does is still count as a win if everyone leaves during the race? I hate it when I've got a big lead and everybody suddenly leaves due to connection issues.

3 wins from afk hosts. Slowly creeping up to 500 losses & barely 300 wins.. :/

Lol...the difference between my wins and losses is more than the total of your wins and losses.

You have to be a good GTA pilot to win air races. Luckily the flying hasn't changed since GTA SA so im very good at it.

try staying as low as possible while still hitting the checkpoints and stick to the inside of turns. If your taking a sharp turn finish it with a barrel roll to keep speed.

OP admits to not using brakes then wonders why he doesnt win. Proper bracking is as important in racing as speed and until the OP learns this he will continue to lose more than he wins.

Go wide, lay off acceleration.Or you could break then go outside in and accelerate out of the middle of the corner which is must faster than a wide sweeping turn. If you break going into the corner that allows you to accelerate out which creates faster lap times. There is a reason why while watching a car race you will see race car brake rotors glowing red from heat because they know that using them aggressively produces the greatest results.

No mate, there are only two ways to win a clean race in equal cars - the racing line, or the slow in fast out line.

The latter was illustrated beautifully earlier on by Zwenkwiel I think.

You're describing fast in slow out, you're hitting the apex late.

Please try what people are suggesting , it's proven irl racetrack theory :-)

P.S.in practice I'm a crap racer, I'm old and slow and take an early lead with sweet lines that I then throw away by clipping street furniture or traffic I didn't react to quickly enough. I'm old! Lol

Yes it still counts and I don't think you get the loss if you bail either

Good call on 16 players, but races are rarely run with 3 or 4 in random lobbies.

The players with these incredible stats never went into that first turn in Down the Drain with 15 other players all driving stock Adders and XF's!

For the number of races you have done it is averaging out as an actual reflection of your skill.. nearly. Maybe.

Do another 500 races and see if it goes up (the ratio). I mean lets face it are you going to get any more skillful? It might creep up a bit.

But it is a good ratio though, if you do not use any of the tricks mentioned in this thread and just race as and when - the odds of winning those 16 player long races almost boils down to chance.

For air races, might help but you can really cut corners hard as the coronas hit area is much bigger than driving races.

This is very true, on the straights you accelerate as fast as you can until you get to the braking point before a corner - the latest point at which you can brake hard enough to then take and maintain the apex line at the fastest possible coasting speed (not touching the brakes during the turn itself at all) until hitting the exit point (usually the middle) of the apex and resuming full acceleration (progressively as fast as possible without breaking traction) and letting the car push wide to the furthest side of the track.

That's the usual method anyway, I was a fairly decent racer in my younger days (real life) and the principals work in games with reasonable physics too - and while GTA is by no means a simulation it still makes a pretty decent job of it considering.

To race differently is to race ineffectively. Learn about racing lines and look far ahead to the horizon where you're heading (not at the car) when racing and you'll be better than 90% of people you'll meet online.

Which is why I made a race restricted to Comets :) contact on, traffic on, weather is set to rain. As I said before, randoms reject my race. Only people that have touched my races are crew members.

My racing stats are laughable 110 races 6 wins with different class's of cars. So I cant upgrade my engine ect  on the plus side i'm undefeated in tennis. I have a record of like 8 wins no loses but what the stats don't tell you is they all rage quit after a few points :) who cares though right ? in the history books they are counted as wins so I feel pretty good about my tennis stats although i'd be happy to lose if I meant I got a play full games

EDIT: I feel I should mention I didn't physically do all those races my self a few of my mates and I all played the game together they don't have consoles so we play together the old fashion way, I honestly love it. Nothing like being their in person to salute their good tactics and laugh at their f*ck up's. They do the same too me it's all in good fun but yes that's why I have so many races under my belt despite all the loses we play for fun and entertainment. Obviously we'd like a custom car and to win more but that's life gotta take the good with the bad

Old-Tired-Grumpy

To start, my race record is 249W & 464L. I'm quite disappointed by this because it's the only thing in the game I take seriously. Is there a way to go from 249W & 464L to 465W & 464L WITHOUT trading wins? I'm pretty sure I'm the only person who takes racing seriously around here..

By the time Rockstar adds stats for 2nd place, 3rd place finishes ect, that's the day I'll feel better about myself.

No, I'm not trolling, I'm dead serious. I've had enough of losing races.

Your record isnt bad,

If you want to improve it, you will have to learn why and what you are doing wrong,

a large portion of the people racing think that simply hold the throttle down 100% of the time will make them faster, but learn where to slow down and where to go fast, avoiding contact with other players and computer cars

also watch the dot behind you, if its on your ass and your going into a tight turn, slowing down and letting them pass you will normaqlly result in them slamming into a building or object in that turn (this wont be the case if its a good racer behind you) but it works 75% of the time

Ramming and pitting not only hurts you when you are the victim, it hurts you when you are the aggressor, because if you try to pit the guy in 1st place it will also slow you down a bit and allow the players behind you to gain on you

i am level 86 and have a record of 96 wins 96 loses out of the 96 wins i would guess only 20% was a run away win, 80% of them were from letting the other players beat themselves
