I want it back!!! (From GTA 4)

You know... The one where you run towards someone without locking onto the victim and press the attack button...

I want to be able to lure angry npc's up to

to the top of a parking lot and run towards then while they are standing at the edge and push them off, only to see them falling down for minutes before SPLAAATTT!!!

Or just give someone sitting on a ledge somewhere a push, making them faceplant the pavement...

Or just tipping someone over as they walk home from an hour of grocery shopping all tired.

Wouldn't mind getting more melee combat options generally :/

I think True Crime nailed it in its time.

While I like the sucker-punching aspect of GTA V, I think GTA IV's actual hand to hand melee was superior. The counter moves and such. I like the way kicking and punching were two seperate buttons, while GTA V seems to be random as to whether you punch or kick the person in combat.

Random punches on an unsuspecting person = GTA V wins.

Every other aspect of hand to hand combat = GTA IV wins.

Having emotions is not a weakness, but letting your emotions drive you & your decisions is a weakness.

I actually literally just tried to push someone. Instead, I attempted a face-punch and got counter-attacked by the motherf*cker.

Needless to say, I made him understand how little I'd appreciated that.

So I'm not the only one... I just loved coming at full speed towards someone standing at the pier and push them into the sea <3

Agreed. Roundhouse kicking people in gta iv was the balls. Well I guess not everyone can have soviet military combat skills.

I miss the old melee system in GTA IV. Was pretty dissappointed with this "updated" version.

Gray Fox: I'm like you, I have no name.

There is a push animation.

It just happens randomly

Guess it is a balancing issue. Fights could often be won by who pushed first.

I love that game. It's one of the best open world sandbox games out there. Also, I miss fighting in gta iv. How come we're not able to dodge attacks online?

Thanks for pointing that out. I hope R* fixes that, bare fist death matches might be more enjoyable if they do.

If pushing people off buildings is what you want to do perhaps this will suffice. In IV I liked climbing to the top of a ladder with either cops or another player following me and let them climb too, wait at the top and when they get close kick them in the face and watch them fall to their death!

You can always put people on top of the Mile High Club on one of the ledges on the very last floor and run towards them then watch those assholes fall down, all with the capture creator.

GTAV fighting is broken. You can spam the run punch on another player over and over until they die :/

I like going by the docks and knocking guys into the water or into one another. Or at the airport there are big groups of firemen to knock around. Push one into 2-3 others and then watch them fight.

Being able to push would be fun but the closest we have is just flat out running into someone.
