Can someone please explain to me why you guys feel you NEED to use spoilers. If you hate them dont use them. The difference is so miniscule this is a joke. Also on a slight off topic rant YOU DONT NEED TURBO on every bleeping car. You can easily do without. Talking to rockstar not you the fourm people.

The one that does make me laugh is in the Muscle Car threads when people say about the Sabre Turbo and not to put a turbo on it because it's not right on a muscle car with such a sweet sounding engine - whilst I agree in theory, the irony of not putting a turbo on the Sabre TURBO seems to escape people... :)

Ya no thanks, some spoilers are way to ricey for me

agreed, spoilers on Futo's, penumbra's, sultans etc. = ricers but most of the whining about spoilers here is about spoilers on legit performance cars.

I for one avoid turbo upgrade in all cars that have nice sound. That PSSSSH sound doesn't fit anything except tunners.

Also, you're not "adding a turbo", you're upgrading it. It's already there. Ever driven a road car with a turbo on it? It doesn't make that retarded sound.

No you get wastegate chatter that sounds like a flock of pigeons taking off!

I'm pretty sure many of the cars on gta wouldn't have OE turbo so in that instance, you would be adding a turbo

Sure, in the case of supercar with a NA V8 only interpretation you can make is that you're ADDING a turbo to it somehow. Not with the cars that already have it though, which are most.

About sound, even in the case of turbodiesel engines, which admitedly are not ear pleasant, I still prefer that sound over the fart everytime you change gears or simply lift the throttle in the game. It's horrendous.

I love my Carbo - but recently it has been struggling on high-corner tracks compared to Massacro/Elegy. The extra traction will be a godsend

If any vehicle should remain naturally aspirated it should be the futo. Most 86's I've seen irl are all motor. Aside from that, it says n/a on the side. If that was removable, I might be willing to turbo the futo but it messes with me too much.

They are trying to replicate the BOV of most turbo'd cars. Blow-off Valves release extra pressure from most turbo'd vehicles with a loud hiss. You'll hear this a lot in modded EVO's and WRX's.

I tried that this morning (at great expense to re-purchase and modify - much Rooftop Rumble grinding, damn you new car patch!) along with a fully modded Comet - long story short, it doesn't help that much on those cars. Still fairly off the pace of the top 3-4. I think the Carbo is one of my favourite freeroam cars for its sharpness and ability to make quick 90 degree turns or 180 spins when needed, sadly those don't help translate into traction for racing. After I sold the Carbo I re-purchased an Elegy - on Cutting Coroners at least I still managed to beat my best time in the Carbo despite a full-on stop-the-car smash as I adjusted to the handling, around a 57 sec lap even with that! :\

Personally I'm loving this change, has really spiced up the driving side to the game IMO, stoked.

I just hoped that know they don't change it back because of the whinging...

whinging?

anyway, I can't say i've noticed much difference on my cars that have spoilers

than again I haven't tried adding a spoiler to one of my cars

but all the ones that had a spoiler don't seem any different from before the patch

BewareoftheBears

Anyone who races competitive knows that spoilers make a pretty big difference now.

I never used them until recently after high life and it has made a huge difference in my handling around corners.

I hope tire types are next, it'll add more in depth customization and make the game fresh. I wish that the bigger spoilers did more to handling, but as a balancing factor, decrease your top speed. So, if you wanted more handling, you'd have to sacrifice top speed. Or if you want top speed, but want just a little bit of handling, you could use a smaller spoiler. Hopefully R* implements this into the game.

I could see this more in line with armor upgrades and such. More armor heavier the vehicle. Though i think people would then wine about how they have to take armor off for races...then crash and ruin their car.

I've been doing fine without spoilers...ain't gonna start with them now.

Good thread though, it makes sense that spoilers should do this...it should also show it on the stats

I would like to see spoilers available for all cars, also a greater variety of spoilers. because some of the spoilers really do exactly what it says on the tin. it spoils the car.

im hoping in the next update that they do a similar thing to wheels. imo the tuner>dished eight tyres or some stock tyres perform way better that the rest of the tyres, especially noticeable on tail happy cars like the phoenix, dominator or comet...

Agreed. I have dropped turbo off some of my cars just to hear that sweet engine noise. Like the Zentorno.

Just dump what you don't like.

In terms of lap time, the spoiler difference is HUGE.

I'm now down to a 55.122 lap on Cutting Coroners in my Elegy since putting a spoiler on, I'm going to break 54 at some point dammit! :D

A spoiler can decrease your lap time by seconds, that's a huge amount of time in racing. For racers, the monumental difference outweighs the looks of any spoiler.

I want to meet the guy that started all the spoiler hate and slap him.

Most car enthusiasts appreciate spoilers, particularly on cars that need the downforce. It's when you see an untuned Eclipse with a big wing in rl that you should be laughing, not when you see a clearly tracked out car.

Even at that, people like different things. The fact that you may not like spoilers is your opinion and nothing more.

Soran Is On

I noticed that its glitchy when I put the spoiler on my new Banshee.

The traction stat would only show an increase after hovering over the 2nd spoiler. If I backed out of the menu and went back in I could highlight the first and the third spoiler and traction wouldn't change. As soon as I went over the middle spoiler the traction stat showed the increase and then the increase remained when hovering over all three.

I really don't know if this does anything or if that stat just shows glitchy... people have such a wild placebo effect in their minds when they see something like this and then report on it like its fact.

Its because one spoiler does the same as any other.

And its not a wild placebo effect...

Tuners*

So the turbo on rally cars, and super cars such as the Huayra, and countless dozens more don't sound right? Turbos have been on cars for decades, and people have been tuning cars for a century. You're lumping a concept into a very narrow grouping of cars.

Not the right thread but performance related.

Along with that the following things should've been added:

- Cars with the option to add a rollcage now get a slight braking and traction increase.

IRL adding a roll cage to any car makes it more stable and stiffer in both the corners and straights.

- Cars that can have either a triple or single intake big catcher installed now get a slight acceleration increase same applies to cars that can have intercoolers installed.

IRL bug catchers and intercoolers increase acceleration. Bug catchers allow the engine to cool while also taking in more cold air. Intercoolers allow the turbo and engine to spool up quicker.

I thought exposed intercooler means you just remove the grille or something, not install one.

For some cars It only exposes it this applies to the likes of the Sultan, etc.

I think it installs it for the Buffalo S and a few others, I may be wrong so correct me if I am.
