Players Blowing up PV After 1.14

Not sure what everyone else is experiencing, but since the Insurance changes in 1.14, I find my PV continually being blown up by people WHO PAY the Insurance. In my last session two separate people deliberately blew up my Adder and payed the $12,500 Insurance premium.

Is anyone else experiencing this after the I'm Not a Hipster Update?

As an aside as I have not read a thread covering it before, is there a thread which summarises the situations under which you do/do not pay for Insurance after 1.14 and do/do not get a Bad Sport penalty for destroying a PV? Although this information could be used for grieving, it would be nice to know if I should be avoiding certain in-game situations. If no, I will endeavour to provide some sort of list based on the responses in the thread.

This is how it is meant to function.

One of the patch notes said that you no longer have to pay insurance if your vehicle is destroyed by someone without any money which was why you often had to pay your own previously.

Shooting someones personal vehicle with a shot gun until it catches fire then stopping still destroys people vehicle with out having to pay insurance/ bad sport. Id imagine they would have to pay as the game does not seem to register it was destroyed by someone else.

Not sure what the situation is with tanks and insurance at the moment,

Some guy stuffed around with my Zentorno for a while then blew it up and he paid $18 towards my insurance.

When I called it up it said no charge to me..

I am aware this is how it is meant to function. More just wondering why everyone seems to blow up my PV knowing they will pay.

In a session yesterday I messaged some guy about it and his exact reply was "Not real money lol"

Broke kids still don't pay, even though the game notifications say they do on your screen. I don't mind it at all, especially if they blow up my impounded car. Saves me a trip :)

Hail Sithis

Playing a few days ago, my friend was driving around in my car and a guy in a tank blew him up

Tank guy had to pay

Also think I've seen it in the patch notes that using a tank cannon to blow up PVs now makes them pay the insurance and get a bad sport message

Plus you get a brand spankin' new copy of it rather than the original that looks like a dented block of Swiss cheese.

I have actually had two occasions now where I accidentally ditched my Daemon into water (first being splashing into a swimming pool and the other it sliding into a river) where I didn't have to pay the insurance cost for it being flooded. I'm not sure what the exact circumstances were however on it not charging me. Could potentially be if it goes into Water while you are not using it.

SInce the update I haven't seen one instance of having to pay for a PV that was wrecked by a player, so i'm quite pleased.

I only had to pay for my pv once, when a tank ran it over.

Must have been a hard time trying to outrun that tank with your PV. Was it a Voodoo?

Same with pouring gas around the car and the lighting it via backfire and you don't pay but if you shoot the gas with a gun then you do pay.

So what happens if tanks crush PV's? Does the pilot pay and get that much closer to becoming a bad-sport?

I caught someone doing this to my Zentorno once, only he failed and his own car catched fire as well. He also had to pay the insurance for my car. So this method is not fool proof it seems. Might have something to do with me standing 20 ft away in passive mode jerking off.

He must have thought he had it all figured out.

It's nothing to do with the 1.14 update.

It's just the fact that you still ride around in an Adder.

Blow that sh*t up. Every time.

Did he shoot it or light it via backfire?

When i did it via back fire, i make sure the trail is a good couple feet between that car and my car so that doesn't happen and as soon as i light it i pull forward so that doesn't happen, never caught my own car on fire.

The only time i do it is when i see gold/chromed super cars inside the impound lot.

Sometimes i get bored and will jump from session to session till i found cars inside the impound and i'll impound my car on purpose so i can go in without getting any stars and blow up all the cars at once.

My record is 4 cars together, they were all unlocked so i grouped em tightly together, poured gas all round them and lit em up.

it's funny hearing squeakers scream when they find out their car has been blown up and they have to pay for it.

He used backfire but it seems his tires where in the fire zone as well. He must have been a bit to close. PS, does Cargobob impound service still work? You know, when you use Bob to pull these cars out of the impound and drop them into a lake, and they pay the bill?

Don't know, still is my favorite past time.

I'll check later when I'm home.

In a jet, I don't get bad sport warning or pay the insurance when I blow up someone's PV, and when my PV gets blown up by a jet I get it back for free. So it seems no one pays anymore.

Yes Sire, It does just did it today to check for myself...

I often don't detory em i put em somewhere, where they can't get it without a helo and when you pull a car out of the impound it doesn't register it, So they can't simply just use the quick-list for the mechanic to bring it to em, they have to call for another car hence destroying their car and paying the insurance.

Then i go over to MMI and do the same thing again or i check their for cars too and take em.

Sometimes i like to just keep drooping them and smashing them so bad it's barely recognizable and make them pay for the repairs which isn't much but it's so beat up it'll barely drive

Meant to function like this. Even if they can only pay like $10 towards insurance, you're not charged for the remainder.

There are a few ways that douches bypass this, which could be using a shotgun.

If i'm not mistaken, that was changed with the 1.14 update
