GTA 5 Conspiracy: Rockstar Is Purposely Delaying Heists

At the end of the day I guess we will never know. The only thing that is of interest to me (less the damned Heists) would be to know how long R* decide to wait to release Heists upon their actual completion. This would be the unacceptable delay given they had said "Coming this Spring" and acknowledged it was a highly anticipated update and if they then just sat on them and released other content.

I feel like they're delaying heists until next gen release and then are going to make them a next gen exclusive. More money in their pockets (so to speak) and in Sony and Microsoft's. I could be completely wrong but that's just my opinion.

I agree with the guy from this video. I'm honestly a little bit indifferent towards heists because R* have been promising them so much, that the energy going into wanting them has depleted for me. Why they are delaying heists? I honestly have no clue. They could be trying out glitches or holding it back for a business standpoint. That's their business.

 

HOWEVER, keeping the consumers in the dark like this by saying "coming soon" is not cool. We practically filled R*'s pockets with all the copies we bought of GTA V in total. The communication with the community is really lacking, and simply keeping us in the dark about a feature that was advertized 7-8 months ago is really shady.

I made a thread back in December bout how rockstar might be delaying heists until a certain quota is met with cash card sales... Granted I had nothing to back it up then and nothing to back it up now. I just think its bullsh*t that they won't release it until the kinks/glitches are ironed out of it lol when has anything they released for GTA:O been unglitchable... Not never. This is most definitely a ploy of some kind but "we" will never know for sure because rockstar will never say. You'd think they would've blamed glitchers and modders by now but they haven't, why? The whole thing stinks if you ask me. Maybe I'm wrong but I wish rockstar would let this community know sh*t when it pertains to heists(because when they don't sh*t like this thread happens) or maybe this is part of their plan to let people still hype it up... At least speculation gives the community SOMETHING to do...

At this point, heists are staring to devolve into a joke, much like Half Life 3 Confirmed! There are multiple points to be made. Yes, glitches and hacks can slow down development of new content. But at the same time this is a huge multimillion dollar company. If they don't have the resources to have a separate department for glitch management/fixing, there are serious questions to be raised about where money is going.

 

They have been delaved so much most of us aren't mad when they're delayed again. We are disappointed and some of us have come to expect a delay announcement whenever something new releases. It would be a shrewd business move to release heists as current gen only. R* probably realizes that the casual interest in their game has waned severely. Could they lure some back with heists? Maybe, but they could also drum up current gen sales.

 

I am usually more exited for new cars anymore than anything regarding heists. Heists have become something almost mythical. They won't live up to expectations, we've had too long to imagine what they'll be like. They won't pay out well. Probably no more than $200,000 that'll be split between 4 people. And there probably won't be many of them. Then they'll become repetitive and boring like all the other missions. It's been 7 months, and we have seen nothing. Not even screenshots or some alpha footage. Like someone said earlier, R* could have released them in 1 or 2 heists at a time. They didn't have to be in some lumped 'Heist Update'. But they did it their way.

 

Time will tell if it was a bad decision on their part.

I've been pulling off heists since October. Made my millions, ripped off rs feel purdy good about that btw. Now why would rs want to release heists and give away free money? Question answers itself. And prepare to be disappointed...... I can see the rs fat cat sitting there in his chair "k one a week sounds good and cap it at 50k wouldn't want anybody having to much fun. Heists.....who really cares at this point......

So, let's analyze this a bit...

 

 

1:14: Nobody really likes to sit down and grind missions... If there is, ideally, a more fun way to make money, such as heists, then that is what people will do.

Who says heists will be more fun, or profitable, than the current missions? In story mode, a good amount of the heist payouts go to other crew members and I don't see that being any different in multiplayer.

 

 

1:41: So, they keep feeding us this information, so that we think to ourselves that there is no reason to go out and grind these missions and no reason to buy shark cards and things like that.

Yes, brilliant strategy... R* keeps saying that heists are coming soon, so that nobody goes out and buys shark cards... Because R* doesn't want to sell those.

 

 

2:17: They released the Hipster Update without telling us, knowing that people weren't gonna have time to stockpile their money.

Anyone with half a brain at this point in GTA:O has money "stockpiled" in anticipation of the next update, especially when leaks start coming out. It's called "planning ahead." You don't need R* to tell you that the next update is coming out.

 

On top of that, the Hipster Update contnets aren't going anywhere... People have all the time in the world to "stockpile their money." The only update so far that had a time limit on it was Valentine's Day and that was announced well in advance.

 

On top of that, this apparently surprised this youtuber so much that he uploaded 3 videos about the update before it came out:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Yet, when the update came out, he was apparently shocked by the fact that it came out...

 

 

2:44: When they catch us off guard and you know, we expect to have money that we just don't have, we end up buying shark cards... I mean, personally, I've never bought a shark card, but I know that there's some of you guys that do, so I think that that is really what this all comes down to.

A: Again, with the "catch us off guard"... after you posted three youtube videos about the update well beforehand. Also, again, no time limit to buy the stuff... You don't have to have it all within hours of the update of coming out.

 

B: "We end up buying shark cards" followed IMMEDIATELY by "I mean, personally, I've never bought a shark card." Then, who is this "we" he's talking about? Because he isn't part of it.

 

C: This is the first update that has been released without notice. For the "catch us off guard, meaning we end up buying shark cards, even though I've never bought one" theory is true, wouldn't ALL of the updates have been released without notice? Better yet, wouldn't ALL of the updates had a timeframe on which you had to buy them in?

 

Maybe, just maybe, they were planning to release the heists update this month, but had the Hipster update ready, just in case, so that at least we got something in the month of June. When the heists weren't ready, the backup plan of the Hipster update went into effect, easily explaining why there was no notice beforehand.

 

 

3:07: Because, once they release heists, people are gonna have more money, it's gonna be a fun way to earn, you know, $40K or whatever the payout ends up being. So they know the longer they delay heists, the more money they'll make off of their shark cards... And, like I said, their strategy is to keep telling us that heists are right around the corner.

A: People having more money, or heists being "a fun way" are pure speculation. "A fun way" is also subjective. My guess is, some will like heists, others won't. Myabe heists will end up being even more tedious than the missions we have currently.

 

B: "the longer they delay heists, the more money they'll make off of their shark cards." Coming again, from the guy that has never bought one.

 

C: "their strategy is to keep telling us that heists are right around the corner." Well, if you've fallen for their "strategy" for the better part of 9-10 months and you STILL keep falling for it, who's at fault there...?

 

On top of that, the whole video shows (I assume) him driving one of the new 6x6 Dubstas... So, the guy that didn't have money stockpiled (In the video, it shows him having over $600k) and who was completely caught off guard by an update that he released 3 videos on prior to the release has the 6x6 Dubsta that costs a quarter of a million dollars less than a week after it's release...

 

All while bitching about a "conspiracy" by R* to sell cash cards, when he has never bought any...

If they're smart, they won't release a shred of content before the game is on next gen systems. The hipster update just fell on the weekend of the beginning of summer, so hold out through the dog days, let the masses starve for a while, then drop next gen versions concurrently with heist DLC. PS4/Xbone copies will be full price if not already owned on last gen. Owners of the game on last gen consoles will pay around $20, but it will be marketed as heist DLC, so buyers won't feel totally cheated..

 

Online is a total mess right now, and I'd prefer their energy be spent dialing down the next versions. Also, heists or no heists, they'd be crazy not to pull the plug on ps360 servers in a year or two. There's no way shark cards have put them in the black against server costs.

It has nothing to do with tremendous effort it will take to implement them in a way that will result in the least amount of bitching and complaining (because God knows there will be incessant bitching and complaining no matter how awesome or not awesome heists turn out to be). Or the fact that modders/hackers/cheaters had all but ruined the game for a time and they need to fix all that and ensure that doesn't happen again. Or the fact that they're still meticulously balancing missions that have been around since GTAO's inception (RR, Coveted, etc...) in an effort to get the right blend of effort and payoff and that multi-stage heists will be a lot more complex than that.

I think any reasonable person will agree that implementing things like heists takes a significant amount of time/effort/money/planning. That's fine. Again, the issue is that they're a multi-million (billion at this point?) dollar company who specifically mentioned heists as a selling point of the game. It's 8 or 9 months later and that feature isn't in the game. I'm willing to believe hackers/glitches set the devs back a bit, but this wait is still excessive.

 

The fans would have more patience and respect if they were updated on the actual progress. Simply receiving a, "coming soon!" comment tacked on to every update is just ridiculous at this point. I appreciate this game as-is, and I still play it on a regular basis. However, a key component of the online experience (that was mentioned prior to release) is still missing. Paying customers have every right to ask/talk/complain about that.

I think they are delaying it, just to launch heists at the same time was ps3/360, ps4/xbone, that way it will be a good selling point for the next gen, to keep it fresh as a selling point,.. and not somethign already played.
