I just stumbled on this place. They are Canyons that run in different directions all around the East side of the power plant and along the highway across from the wind turbine field.

Obviously the sun didn't care about my picture adventure

You can drive through the Canyon and pick all sorts of spots to climb.

For all the people boasting about their Dubsta 6x6, take your rig here to get a sense of it's capabilities.

The 6x6 climbs up to the top of Mt. Chilliad like it's a little mole hill.

Since a fully modded 6x6 can't climb the north face i can't think of a reason why you would even mention Chiliad like it's something hard to do. My BeeJay XL also climbs mt.Chiliad so i guess BeeJay = 6x6?

I'm talking about things that are actually a tough climb, not a "little mole hill".like Mt.Chiliad :^:

EDIT: Oh and SWB for the win :)

LOL My 4x4 Dubsta can take that.

Take what? I posted a random picture of a SWB lolz

You're trying to hard. I just wanted to let anyone who hasn't found this spot know it's great for testing a vehicles climbing ability.

not just the canyon area is good, but the whole Chilliad to Wetlands is good. there's a few other spots aswell.

just curious.have you tried starting at the beach below the sawmill. head up the creek, take the first fork right, second fork left. stay in the valley section and head up keeping towards the left, but stay in the main valley, see how far you get. oh and one last thing, do it without or atleast just minimal damage. should come out on top just below the lift on the west side. last bit of trail is the stairs to the lookout platform.

I wasn't talking about your short wheel base sand queen.

You act as if a 6x6 wouldn't be able to trek this. You need to look past your SK supremacist fandom and realize that the 6x6 is pretty good.

p.s, I'l try putting in less effort in my posts in the future. :)

and good job trying to create a SK vs 6x6 flamewar.

Its easy to take the trails of Chiliad or Gordo, but can you actually scale the sides and the valleys?

I bought, fully tuned, tested for hours and sold the 6x6 for 222k. I know what it is and isn't capable of.

I chose to get a Sandking again because quite frankly it is superior for climbing obstacles with any real height. The 6x6 is nice for bombing through the desert or climbing a steep "hillside" but when it comes to actually clearing "big boy" stuff the Sandking pats the 6x6 on the head and says "i'll come back for you later".

I'm not just talking out of my ass, here's my old 6x6 before i sent it to the wreckers.

If you actually came for a "off trail" run with us in your 6x6 you would find out quickly it's just not on the same level. I do like the power it has tho.

But everyone will find this out over time, it's still in that shiny new toy stage.

I agree with you generally, but the Sandking is a bit slow for general freemode roaming. And starting a mission in it often means I'm in totally the wrong vehicle. In contrast, the 6x6 is a much faster and more usable on-road vehicle and the slight limitation on its outright offroad capabilities compared to the Sandking is more than made up for by its speed and handling advantage. Oh, and it sounds better.

I suspect in an off-road race the 6x6 would beat the Sandking easily too, unless there were an obstacle which couldn't be climbed by the 6x6.

I can agree with most of that.

I use my SWB for one thing only and that's offroad exploring. So naturally i will want the vehicle with the least limitations. If i come across a cool looking spot to climb i know i have the best vehicle for it. That's all.

The Dubsta is without question the better mission truck/ flat land vehicle but i have cars for that right :)

I'm still driving the 6x6 around for the moment because it's new and shiny; but I'll get bored before long (particularly since everyone else in my crew seems to be in theirs whenever I join an off-road race or a mission). I only have three minor annoyances with it though, so I doubt I'll get rid of it:

- it is a bit unwieldy in a small space; hard to turn round quickly when you need to make a sharp exit

- on a steep climb where you would normally take a run up and fly over the top and tip forward to land, it seems to flick backwards

- it has a habit of being deflected when coming off crests at speed, so you end up sideways or even on your side

I've not got rid of the Sandking SWBs for each character though (well, I did temporarily, but only to replace them with the rare bull-bar spawn version). There are some things which only a Sandking will do :)

This thread made me turn on my ps3 and go offroading. I'll possibly get some pics of my spots to climb/drown my trucks. If anyone wants go wheelin' add ninemillerkiller on PSN with a message saying offroad

Does that thing understeer? I always had a soft spot for Hilux's but I don't feel like throwing a space away for something that can't survive in an urban environment.

its a Karin so the handling is great. However yes it does have a little bit of understeer, all I can suggest is try one for yourself I doubt you will regret it.

Yo. SandKing and 6x6 fanboys. drop all this. We all know that the SandQueen can beat the Dubsta in some areas, and the Dubsta can beat the SandQueen in others. So chill the f*ck out.

SandQueen = climbing over objects/rocks and high stuff, etc.

Dubsta 6x6 = flying through hard hills, tank without firing turret, etc.

SandKing + Dubsta = best off-roaders in the Off Road category.

Ghea. Get both of them. They're both amazing at what they do and they're both fun to drive. Though if you want a Sandking, get the SWB.

allso a nice spot i found the other day. if you go behind the horsetrack, down to the creek, and then follow the water to the right, you end up at the bottom of the damm. there is a nice place to test your climbing skills.

Believe it or not, I hate the 6x6. It understeers on the tarmac and is way too long for off-roading, but it is still capable of a lot. As for the SK, I'm not a huge fan either.

I've been begging for R* to make lift kits so I can have the same ground clearance as the 6x6 in my 4x4 which has great comtrol and a great engine with a lot of torque, so it's really a capable base.

What I was saying was that you need to stop acting superior as both of them are good trucks.

Want a real test, you know on top of mount chillid where the jump is? Yea well start at the buttom and climb your way back up over the side of the mountain and see how far you get. Screw the pathways, they are to easy.

Ok, just for the record if the SK was left 4x2 i wouldn't even touch it, in fact i sold my old one immediately after the patch removed it's 4x4. I'm not saying the 6x6 isn't capable it is, i just prefer the ability to at least "attempt" to climb the big stuff.

6x6 without question is the more powerful truck, so naturally it is better for long "hill face" climbing. The one thing holding the SK back is the engine, it just doesn't pull hard enough for those long steep inclines. The 6x6 will go further up the North face of Chiliad then the SK without question, i've done it. But then again an Entity will go further then both soo.

Don't know what else you want me to say...

All this back and forth talk about the SK vs the 6x6 is pointless. I love having both and won't ever get rid of either. I said I would post some trail pics but instead created a truck race last night. It's a challenging but fun run, heres the link.

Let me know what you think if you try it out, trucks only if you bring your blista you'll have a bad time.
