Notification every time someone mentions you.

Would be useful. What if there was a tread with a bunch of replies every hour and at some point in the tread someone is replying to you?

I'm not an expert in Forum Software, but wouldn't this feature put pressure on the servers? It sounds like a good idea, but I don't think something like this could be implemented unless it was a paid feature in which someone was willing to pay for it. Google Ads cannot pay for everything...

A notification every time someone mentions your username might put unnecessary pressure on the servers, yes. It's another story, though, if you get notified when someone uses the member BBcode, i.e. [member=<insert username>], which would be useful indeed. That could work.

On Proboards if you tag someone (ex. @Andreas), it notifies them.

 

Just a cool feature to get a friend to look at a thread without actually asking them to.
