Tanks aren't for GTA. It's fast cars, guns, money and occasionally blow (the two definitions for it).

 

This isn't Battlefield of Duty: Advanced Warfighter. This is GTA.

No, I don't see. It's a game that revolves around killing and driving. The tank is a combination of just that.
Wrong. The game is about criminal activity, which are guns, fast cars, money, and drugs/sex.

 

The tank is NOT part of any of what I mentioned. Hell, the only way you COULD be a criminal with a tank is if you STOLE it. But you didn't. You bought it.

So, a drug lord, or any high level criminal with a lot of money can't own a tank? Because you say so?

I thought you didn't find anything wrong with that "this isn't x this is gta" logic. I mean, you said you can't see what's wrong.

 

You dictated what GTA is supposed to be before I even did. And if I'm correct, there are tanks in Fort Zancudo, where a lot of money and a high rank would be advantageous in order to take one, instead of handholding By Pegasus.

Yeah but if you shoot someone with a handgun they also probably won't live. It's a video game, so balancing is important.

I am not dictating anything, Rockstar is. And I agree with their decision. Also, don't forget, this is a video game, not a crime simulator. Tanks are a lot of fun, be it fighting one or driving it. That's my opinion. They were a big part of GTA from the start and having them in multiplayer just makes sense. Any player can have one, so it's not unfair. If you yourself have a problem with tanks than you should gain more skill ;)

The thing here is that tanks can be taken either the super-easy way or the normal way (stealing). Tanks are overpowered even to the Adder, so honestly the idea of being able to buy one and have it delivered nearby is absurd.

 

 

They were a big part of SINGLEPLAYER, not multiplayer as well. I mean, if I recall GTA 4 or SAMP correctly, most people either killed each other by guns on the streets (SAMP) or just did "amazing" "stunts" at the airport (GTA4 MP). That was fun as well, and there were a few, if not no tanks at all.

 

Any player can grab a tank from Zancudo as well, as long as you got "skill" as you say.

 

Referring to my problems with tanks, I don't. I guess if they stop trying to ding-dong-dutch me and text me things like "ur a faget 4 hidng in apt lol noob" I'd be golden, but it's all good.

I personally don't have a problem with balancing in this game. There is a solution for everything. That being said, taking away people's tanks would not make sense.

Wait, taking away tanks? Nah, nah. I mean removing it from Pegasus.

 

Plus refund from initial purchase + 10k as overhead for usage of the tank.

Idk, I still shot people with 1 shot to chest with my Heavy Sniper. It was since ever that when the person had a Bullet Vest, you needed 2 shots to the chest.

Then tell me why all the past GTA multiplayer games never had the tank, even though GTA:SA's tank is FAR more stronger than GTA:V's tank.

tank from previous game are quite unrealistic , as explosion or even bullets absolutely no visible damage aganist rhino in SA ( exception of weapon by police maverick ) and only way to destroy them with flames but still diffcult to destroy one . rhino in V or online still most durable vehicle ( as it able whitstand few explosions ) , now rhino in V instead immune aganist bullets ( except shooting to rear , which do little damage ) or flames

 

you guys should love rhino , don't u miss it where in IV era ( APC is less effective than rhino ) . i missed rhino during that , so fans should be glad R* bring it back to V , but since tank was abused in online so rockstar decided to weaken the tank instead omitted them

I haven't noticed a nerf, but there were instances when it took more than one Heavy Sniper shot to kill a target. However, I attribute that to my bad target choice. (I was shooting players at about the stomach level)

 

In regards to the tank armor, I can only hope that you're right. However, I do not believe it either, as I've not noticed a difference. Ever since players have been coming back because of the update there have been tanks everywhere, and I have had to fend them off. It has taken approximately the same number of shots as it has always had.

Tanks HAVE been nerfed. I can confirm it. I took one out with three stickies.

 

Never have I felt so happy in Online, before.

Yeah but if you shoot someone with a handgun they also probably won't live. It's a video game, so balancing is important.

Shoot a guy with a .22 caliber, unless you hit internal organs you can hit him 4/5 times he'll still walk untill death by blood loss.

Same goes for 9 mil.

.45 cal starts to get severe damage wise even if you don't hit organs.

.357 magnum is like Tyson punching you in the chest, you will go down no matter where you hit.

And so on...

 

Now .50 cal is initially designed for light armored vehicles, on people it rips off limbs and a shot to the chest will pop a hole the size of a football.

It should be a one shot kill.

Then again, indeed Rockstar's judgement but it seems pretty crappy to me...

I know. My point was it's a video game, and balancing is more important than realism.

But you can definitely feel the difference between the sniper rifle and the heavy sniper when you shoot a bike, or an SUV and it blows up after one shot.

tbh, I think the nerfing's been a major positive..

 

No longer do you see tanktards running round the map wiping everyone out and ending up on their own..

 

What I've noticed is that they now seem to run in packs in a bid to protect one another..

 

little bit of off radar and sticky/RPG action and you can get 2-3 for the price of one! :lol:

 

Poetic justice really...

 

As for the heavy sniper, not really noticed much difference tbh.. you just gotta get your aim right as people say.. it's still a one shot killer in the right hands...

I used to go around preaching taking it from Pegasus too before the 1.14 patch, but since the tank has been nerfed, I believe that is punishment enough :)

 

I actually enjoy being able to blow up the loser that retreats for a tank in the middle of an open session free for all; you know how that goes. That guy that only gets 3 kills and keeps getting shot up by everybody, so he gets a tank like "everybody gone die now!" Only to get wrecked like 2 seconds later.

 

This gives me piece of mind.

Lol they finally made the tank armor soft to match how soft the driver of said tank is that has to rely on using one to get any kills.

 

It's like a snapping turtle with a plush shell, or an M&M with a gummy coating :p

 

oh and don't forget to add a suitable dose of spawnkilling afterwards to run in the lesson...

I did forget this part, but I take this to alredy be implied lol, cause it's GONNA happen.

 

It's actually a rule that if you don't spawn kill that guy that was in the tank, your friends all get to run you over with chrome adders.

tbh my favourite was the ironic killing them with a tank then repeatedly running over them in the tank when they go into passive mode.. :D

 

metatanktarding ftw...

 

tbh though, I think I just use my tank now as a kind of artillery piece on top of the Maze Tower.. takes some effort but can be quite fun, specially since the height can negate the jet's advantage a little! :D

It's the element of surprise.. if they're not expecting a tank (and who normally would?) then it's kaboom..

 

also, for some reason throwing a tank off a skyscraper doesn't seem to destroy it.. so you can make a quick exit to ground level and it's a swine to fly round skycrapers.. :D

Making the tank weaker is a good thing,they used to be a weapon of mass destruction and someone who had one of them could troll everyone who doesn´t have it and ruin the game for most other people,so now most people have a fighting chance against trolls.It´s also more realistic this way because real tanks usually get destroyed with only one well placed RPG shot,not a bunch of them.However,guns that have low rate of fire like the 50 cal sniper should be more powerful,otherwise they are useless compared to full-auto or semi-auto guns.
