Not this type of game, but it's ignorant to say they aren't for any game.
They aren't. Controllers will always be better.

You're right, its much easier to use a mouse and keyboard for most things, especially for those who can't figure out a controller.

PC master race just isn't hardcore I guess.

 

i can use a controller just fine, however its limited abilities make it unsuitable for hardcore gaming. There are no hardcore console gamers, lol! Hardcore gamers use a PC.

 

If you can learn to dominate with a controller, you'd be god on a PC. Can't say it the other way around. Edited by GankThis110

i used to dominate before the release of the 1.14 super lag patch, now combat is nearly unplayable and my K/D is getting lower, lol! hope they fix that sh*t soon, very annoying and it highlights the controllers flaws even more than normal.

I've barely played since the patch. Unknown network errors can kiss my ass.

I prefer controllers myself, but there is no disputing a mouse trumps everything when it comes to aiming.

 

I'm not a huge fan of keyboards, so I use a weird combo of game pad and mouse.

 

I'll have driving exclusively on the controller, but for shooting I'll have all I need (moving, reload, crouch etc) set up on the left of the controller and shooting, aiming, weapon change etc on the mouse.

 

So I end up with the fluid sensitive movement I'm used to and prefer, with the accuracy of a mouse.

You can think what you want but youre wrong, its not personal preference, its a simple fact. pc is more powerful and games are better on them with more content and better graphics than consoles. play battlefield on pc and then play it on console, its a joke on console, about 1/4th the game that it is on pc, lol! You get what you pay for and consoles are sh*tty. You might have a hard time playing games with your dollar store keyboard and mouse on a pc your mommy got at best buy. My mouse and keyboard cost about as much as a whole ps3 system does and theres a reason why, its so much better, haha!

 

 

ok, at least I'm not the one bragging online about owning a PC like it's some kind of huge life accomplishment

On GTA SA:MP you have to type the X button in order to sprint. How are you dealing with that?

 

In GTA V you also have to type one of the right buttons in order sprint. Your only option would be to assign that button to some strange thumb key on your mouse.

Sounds utterly retarded. I rather use keyboard+mouse for fighting and gamepad for driving.

Racing is one of the few genres that are actually more accurate with a controller than a mouse/keyboard, yes.

I'll definitely be using a controller when I get my hands on the PC version. Racing or not, I always prefer a controller. It just feels more natural and immersive in the games for me.

i've played almost every gta in console and pc.

 

inferior driving for superior aim is an acceptable tradeoff.

 

it's not that harder to drive with keys, at least not in gta.

 

plus who are we kidding, with increased traffic we won't be driving that much, we'll be stuck in traffic.

Driving = only 360 controller

on foot = I remember LB being my run (button was shot from clicking it 1000s of times) and i would shoot like any normal fps game.. the accurate thumbstick and the accurate mouse = deadly combo. idk where u got that sprint HAS to be 'typed' as X lol

 

it sounds stupid and unlikely that it would work but don't put it down until you tried it.. The problem being putting the controller down and switching to mouse kb in a gta game isnt smart when your keyboardED enemy is aiming at you already... noone looks at a thumbstick as they use it so it was just very natural > one hand goes onto mouse > controller stays in left . you dont need to look at the analog stick or nothing so it was actually not annoying at all. any second i could hop into a car and go back into controller mode

 

San andreas was one of the most difficult games to configure to the 360 controller .. it seems liked you were always one button away from fully mapping the controllers. it was alot of trial and error mapping buttons / testing controls.. but it was all worth it when i was tearing down the streets of SAN FERRIERO on a pcj in the party serve (triads - sawed off shotguns and uzis if im correct)

 

summary= good times playing samp ( what was it? 100 ppl in one lobby?... gtaO is slacking)
