I decided to try a couple of these match's and as someone who never used auto-aim in GTA i can't understand for the life of me why people would want auto-aim on in GTA, it's terrible. Using it is more than likely gonna get you killed as your aim unexpectedly switches to a less dangerous foe. at least with free aim, i know where my gun will be aiming and if i get killed it's not because of bad mechanic's but more myself. So turn autoaim off you will be a better player for it.My concern is based on rough estimate's, i'm being prompted 80% of the time that autoaim is on in the hosted match, up until a week or two ago i'd rarely get this message. If you receive an invite from a person who is in auto aim lobby you'll be asked if you want to switch to his targeting preference before joining his invitation. Yes, there's a lot less free aimers out there but personally what's boiling me is that no way ps3 and xbox users to play together. There are millions and millions of copies of GTA sold yet we're separated into not only 2 separate user groups but 4 splitting everything into small pieces because of 2 selfish companies. Lets face it, ps3 and xbox 360 (and the new gen too) is the MOST primitive 'computing' system ever yet they keeping their own user group isolated from each other resulting far less free aimers to play together not even mentioning the most important part of this - competitive A listed crews and players. On aiming preference we could argue of which aiming system requires more skill. To put the auto aim nonsense behind us it's about a lot more than free aimers think. There are handful of ways to break someones lock on you and when you face someone who's equally expert in combat, knows the proper use of every aspect of the combat mechanism, then you can get into some very tough and prolonged battle. On top of that I've always been a pc user with a mouse. Matter in fact grew up on pc so of course I couldn't imagine auto aim on pc but I'd respect the skills it requires to act from reflexes, instant headshots in every case, countering, dodging bullets. Also people in traditional aim NEEDS free aim skills for semi distant combat. Without that skill you're no longer A listed. Yes, the number of deaths in this mode is something I had a long beef with but eventually when you're delivering that 5 extra headshots and countering 5 live/death situations - will make the winning score much more epic. It's matter of getting used to and not giving a **** about coming out worst in such scenario. Our tactics reflects all advantageus aspects of the run and gun method. Strict rules we are following and expect every opponents to stick to this rule is no use of explosives, minigun, shutgun, sniping and no lester. I put Dizzy's opinion on the subject too "I personally believe Auto-aim takes more *skills*. I have played free aim enough to understand it. I can hold my own in free aim and I am above average. In auto aim I am extremely good. I know the ins ad outs of it. Key things to know. Free-aim 1. Getting head shots instead of body shots 2. Footwork. 3. Cornering (cheap but still a good thing to know) Auto-aim 1. Getting head shots 2. Rolling(everybody knows how to roll but there's a wrong way to do so) 3. Countering 4. There is also 4 different ways that I know to throw off the auto aimers aim. Making there lock on miss. 5. Working your way around map. You can not just run point to point with out a care in the world. It is extremely easy to be killed. 6. Cornering Free aim to me seems a like whole lot of camping around and is full of crews(not every crew) that think they are better than everyone because they are on free aim. Yet when I absolutely destroy them in auto aim they always say they are still better cause they play free aim and then that they would smack me in free aim. They think they are good at auto aim cause they know how to roll but they don't even know how to roll correctly. Auto aim is pressing the aim button and locking and slightly shifting up the analog stick for an insta headshot. Rolling is easy to do. In auto aim lobbies there is fixed range on auto aim. This means that if you are too far away from the enemy you can't lock on to the enemy but you can still kill only by free aiming. 90% of the time this does happen I notice that the guy is terrible at free aiming and I ending up winning the gunfight. I even see players bring out a minigun or an RPG because they can't aim properly. Sometimes when I see a player with a sniper down the street scoping on me I try free aim by strafing and rolling and I most the time (not always) end up getting the kill. Some players even run towards me just to get auto aim on me. I'm not showing off i'm simply trying demonstrate that free aim is more difficult hat auto aim. Auto aim is nothing more than a pickup and play aim setting. Insta killing someone who driving 180 mph with auto aim is not impressive. If that was done with free aim then woahhhh. To make shooting easy. If you play in a game where everyone is using AA then everyone is playing the game on easy mode. I could get 25 easy kills with AA and die 25 times just as easily to some one else using AA. Since its is exactly that, aim and shoot. Besides the combat rolling, there's nothing more to it. Free aim to me seems a like whole lot of camping around and is full of crews(not every crew) that think they are better than everyone because they are on free aim. Seems like every time I meet a free aimer I get put down. Yet when I absolutely destroy them in auto aim they always say they are still better cause they play free aim and then that they would smack me in free aim. Gonna disagree with the camping. Camping is more effective in AA since you have aim bot range to work with. Also.. you are not destroying anything or anyone if AA is doing the lock on. I mean of course they will say they are better at PVP.. If you use AA you are not really pvping.. Just sayin;. Not everyone is good on Auto-Aim and even then if it was as easy as you want to make it sound so you can feel good about yourselves, the fact is with my experience , skill level and map knowledge I should have a super high K/D Ratio. For me to reach the level of killing in Free Aim, i would have to take a beating for weeks until I stopped being mediocre. I dont have time to train for a video game, man. I just want to play the mode i prefer. Had they kept the exact dynamics from GTA4 then i'd Free Aim no problem but its nothing but frustrating having to worry about feet placement just to get a kill in a video game. Yes, it's more fun cause one doesnt have to fukcing train like they are joining the Internet Military to impress people with their super dexterity. For me to reach the level of killing in Free Aim, i would have to take a beating for weeks until I stopped being mediocre. I dont have time to train for a video game, man. I just want to play the mode i prefer. Had they kept the exact dynamics from GTA4 then i'd Free Aim no problem but its nothing but frustrating having to worry about feet placement just to get a kill in a video game. Thats all. Yeah and you said you should have a super high f*cking K/D and you have high level of skill and possess knowledge of the whole map. You surely must of trained for that. It appear's less people are using free aim which is a shame as it give;s more control and you tend to avoid accident's with AA off. Auto aim is more simplistic. That's why it's more preferred and not everyone knows how to change aim settings. Free aim is really hard and i'm also experienced at free aim. It's a ghost town so that's why I play auto aim on gta 5. On gta 4 it's not a problem to play free aim as everyone uses turbo. i ask this because i always had Autoaim off, but increasingly deathmatch's, GTA race's etc keep on saying this match has it on. I decided to try a couple of these match's and as someone who never used auto-aim in GTA i can't understand for the life of me why people would want auto-aim on in GTA, it's terrible. I've been playing online since October also and auto aim erratic targeting at times still gets me killed more than I would like. Your K/D isn't 25.00 because the playing field is evened in auto aim lobbies obviously. Everyone has auto aim not just you. Some people go for headshots by shifting the analog stick slightly up and some people just press fire. Many people use combat rolling and people use tanks, lazers and buzzards to get kills. A very poor argument for auto aim sorry. Sorry but i dont play DM's with Tanks and Lazers or RPG's. So no, your argument for your feelings of superiority just got flushed down the toilet instead. Not everyone is good on Auto-Aim and even then if it was as easy as you want to make it sound so you can feel good about yourselves, the fact is with my experience , skill level and map knowledge I should have a super high K/D Ratio. My point is that Auto-Aim can sometimes be more frustrating than your precious Free Aim you fukcing champ of nothing. hahahaha What superiority? I do equally good in auto aim. I'm good at free aim but hardcore like other players. Free aim is harder that's all I am trying to say. I have no problem with you playing auto aim. I play it too. You assume that any one who says free aim is better or takes more skill is a pro wannabe. It's a fact that free aim is way harder than auto aim. That makes me laugh. There is some skill involved in auto aim like manoeuvring the lock etc... But free aim is just more challenging that's all. PSN I am auto aim but according to my stats I have 2000 free aim kills.... Since it's just auto aim and shoot. There is no such thing as FREE AIM superior beings. Thats mainly AA players with a gripe against FA players . Auto aim exists for one thing only. To make shooting easy. If you play in a game where everyone is using AA then everyone is playing the game on easy mode. I could get 25 easy kills with AA and die 25 times just as easily to some one else using AA. Since its is exactly that, aim and shoot. Besides the combat rolling, there's nothing more to it. Free aim to me seems a like whole lot of camping around and is full of crews(not every crew) that think they are better than everyone because they are on free aim. Seems like every time I meet a free aimer I get put down. Yet when I absolutely destroy them in auto aim they always say they are still better cause they play free aim and then that they would smack me in free aim. Gonna disagree with the camping. Camping is more effective in AA since you have aim bot range to work with. Also.. you are not destroying anything or anyone if AA is doing the lock on. I mean of course they will say they are better at PVP.. If you use AA you are not really pvping.. Just sayin;. So i play GTA Online on EASY mode cause I have more fun on Auto-Aim than Free-Aim? hahahahahahahahahahahahaha That's not the mentality of a person who feels superior, then I dont know what is. No.. thats the mentailty of a person telling it how it is.. And you are showing the mentality of a person not knowing wtf they are talking about.. Please, enlighten me and everyone else on what the purpose of Auto Aim is? Face it pal, Auto Aim is meant to make the shooting aspect easier. Nothing more then that... This has nothing to do with being superior at all. I can close my eyes and shoot someone as they drive by at 100 mph. It really doesn't get much easier then that. So hey, if you like easy mode good for you. I switched back to assisted aim for sh*ts and giggles.Man,, a lot of sh*t talking for kills while being assisted with aim. LOL. All good. Just thought it was funny.
