Spice it up a little (ZOMBIES)

all ye nay sayers, piss off. you would all love it, you know it.

No, I wouldn't. If that ever becomes a thing, I would leave my PS3 turned off until they're gone again.

It's a stupid idea that never should become a thing. There's enough zombie games already, if I wanted to shoot zombies I would play on of those.

They would have to be sprinting raged filled zombies like the ones in 28 days/weeks later and not the slow boring ones from old horror movies. If they're slow it wouldn't be as thrilling.

I was thinking that the only way this could work is if your characters went on a bad trip to activate the zombie mode.

Kinda like the aliens with Michael and the clowns with Trevor.

You go to the bad weed table and when you do, you are given a choice to get into a co-op (players can't kill each other and must work together.) or self-survival server(where other players are against you) , and you are thrown into the zombie server you choose.

Zombie servers would have aesthetic changes to the main map, like a darker filter/ texture changes on buildings, as well as a different sky and no other players shown on the server. The game would tell you to go into your phone and press a new option called "request reveal", so people who want to work together could have their radars on for each other.

They could implement things like where cops and gangs are the zombie leaders, and you get small awards (say $100 per kill of your police and gang "zombies", $10 for every civilian "zombie".) depending on how many zombies you kill in your session. You would ALWAYS start off with a pistol and a knife, and the map turns into a huge scavenge for better guns, armor, and heavy vehicles. In self-survival servers, killing other players would give you their items, but make you a target in the zombie lobby, similar to bounties.

Since it's actually all a bad trip, some "zombies" would have guns, but to your character, the zombies would be spitting acid instead of shooting bullets, or something similar.

Ammunations would fill some of the ammo in a gun of your choice guns for free, but not give you any new guns. You would need to find new guns in game, scattered around the map and awarded to you by playing hard zombie attacks. Guns found in zombie servers would not be kept after leaving the zombie server, and vice-versa. Your zombie server weapons pool and normal mode weapons pool would be kept separate.

You would go to either the weed table again, or one of the hospitals around the map, to revert back to a normal server.

Zombie servers would have exclusive jobs, although they would pay about 50-75% the amount normal jobs do, so normal play isn't overshadowed.

These jobs would include...

-Zombie Survivals

(Self Explanatory)

-Hoard attacks

(Gang attacks with small swarms of aggressive zombies)

-Virus Deathmatch

(One player is a zombie and starts off with nothing but a one hit kill bite attack, as well as having 3 NPC zombies to help him kill non-infected players. The goal would be for the zombie player to turn all players into zombies by killing them within a certain amount of time. Players win if they survive within the allowed time.)

- Cure Deathmatch

(One player is randomly selected to have a zombie cure, all other players compete to kill that person and steal the cure. Whoever holds the cure for the most time is the winner. )

- Safehouse Deathmatch

(Similar to RDR UN's "Land Grab", this mode involves a match where all players have to try and hold a safehouse for a period of time.

A single player or team must hold a territory on the map for a set amount of time, from 1 minute to 5 minutes, in order to win. To capture territory, you must fill up a bar that takes 10 seconds to activate you or your team's timer.

If 2 players are in the safehouse, the capture bar will not fill. If 2 teams are in the safehouse, the bar charges based on how many people are trying to get the safehouse. For example, if 5 red teams and 4 blue teams were in the house, red's capture bar would start to fill up, but very slowly. The system for this would be extremely similar to Blitz in Loadout:)

They should have Zombies like in The Walking Dead but also with Breaking Bad and Games of Thrones and light sabers from Star Wars and a Sons of Anarchy.

If you want a good zombie game play Left 4 Dead or Left 4 Dead 2. I highly doubt they could implement mass zombie swarms in gta online without massive lag and other issues.

This is very true, but only for current gen. Hopefully next gen could resolve this issue.

I love (slow) zombies, and would love a mode done similar to how RDR did it. Only just in a free mode, not much story or even much "direction" you and your friends find yourselves in Zombie LS, go wild. If it hits off well enough and people like it then maybe start expanding with goals, storylines etc.

But even just barebones "LS is covered with Zombies, go nuts" using AI and tech from undead nightmare i would be happy with as a minigame

Yessss zombiiiessssss

Yeah^^ slow zombies are more interesting to me. They already have the advantage in numbers so I don't like superhuman zombies.

L4D is kinda lame. To each his own I guess but not my type of zombie game.

Well....a zombie mission in gta online would be f*cking terrible compared to L4D going by that logic then.

you guys arent thinking big enough.

they would have to add some sorta survival element like how are you gonna get ammunation? will we still use money? what about vehicles or will i be running every where? add some sorta dayz element to it. sh*t like that.

So make it a whole new game? NO. Edited by RowanSane

Im not so sure, maybe, but i could see crate drop sort of system beign used "hey this box of cash / RP / AMMO" is here, go grab it!" sure you could stay on a rooftop shooting zombies but all you would really be doing is wasting ammo and having fun (which is totally fun!) but some form of crate drop system would give incentive to go to ground level and brave the hordes. Just sort of a minigame to add some variety

EDIT: granted would need some special rules like pegasus being disabled

I would play a zombie mission in this game if they made it right. My only point is that it won't be as good as an actual zombie game. I would rather play L4D or Dead Rising.

Look at RDR's Undead Nightmare.....it was meeeeeeeeeh.......and that was a whole new add-on and not just one mission or survival like it would probably be in gta.

I can understand that, Even myself i see if it even was implemented just as a "here's something to do that's different for when ya get bored" that can provide minor benefits to the normal GTAO (via the crates system, fighting through a horde of zombies to get 'em they should give more after all :-p) as opposed to a fully fledged game. Granted if it got popular enough then who knows, maybe get more modes?

EDIT: Then again im biased, i love zombies and try to see how they could be involved with anything, so what do i know :-p

Undead Nightmare was better than any zombie game made until that time and GTAV/O zombies would probably be better than anything made yet as well.

Zombie games tend to suck, but I don't blame zombies, they're amazing.

But I want slow zombies, just tons of them, and only headshots stop them.

Zombies? Go play Saints Row 3. It has no place in a GTA game ffs.

Stupid OP is stupid.

^ Just like they had no place in RDR, right? Go play fun police somewhere else. Nice avatar by the way.

I say they should turn everyone into ninjas instead. It'd be a great way to introduce the katana. :D

GTA isn't RDR, whoa man where'd that comeback come from.

RDR deals with zombies, GTA deals with aliens. It's a common easter egg, the aliens thing.

So if GTA were to have a "zombie apocalypse", you mean to say "alien invasion".

I don't think anyone suggested any aliens DLC, yo. We punching the air?

This again? This is starting to pop up more than heist threads.

Beware the unholy one, the thread "What if: Heists + Zombies? (DLC idea)"

Both zombies and aliens DLC have been brought up numerous times on the forum.

So no, not "punching the air."

If they were going to make a paid campaign or co-op campaign, a zombie outbreak would be the best choice.

JOEsAGGRESSIVE

I'd rather see an 80s themed DLC. Basically a Miami Vice theme with a dash of vice city then add a little A-Team but you can't forget Magnum P.I. Bake for probably 20mins. And presto. Instant badass DLC.
